  1. The seller have 25 used pairs, minor dings, but the drivers in pristine condition. Unfortunately I don't have enough space for more pairs. Pio
  2. I think I will buy another 3 pairs, at the equivalent 100usd per pair I can't resist
  3. Definitely better than my refurbished heresy 1.5, I am surprised
  4. Thank you very much, I was listening the kpt-1201-t last night and after tweaking the sound with a dbx pa2 and mic. the sound surprised me.
  5. Great, if the same driver maybe I will make a heresy III/IV size sealed cabinet, what do you think? Pio
  6. The woofer in kpt-1201-t is a k-28-ep, do you think is the same driver? Pio
  7. Do you think the bass will be better? Pio
  8. thank you very much, i will try it Pio
  9. hello, i have a pair of kpt-1201-t unused, do you think it is possible use the drivers/crossovers to make a pair of new speakers, any opinions or ideas? i think the k-28 can sound better in other type of enclosure. any help will be really appreciated. best regards.. Pio
  10. Thank you very much! Great info. Best regards! Pío
  11. thank you, no tap change in the scheme i used, attached pdf, i dont know how much power the resistor receive in this scheme. best regards Pio heresy F and Z curves 13-11-2005 .pdf
  12. thank you! i think i´ll keep the 10 watts ones. best regards Pio
  13. Hello, is 10 watt resistor enough for Heresy 1.5, or worth 15 o 25 watt ones instead? using 100+ watt/ch amplifier any comments will be really appreciated. best regards. Pio
  14. A much more balanced sound and the harsh upper midrange some people says is gone, and for me after mod a big plus was obtained: an easy load for my Marantz 2245 and 2270, before the mod both receivers have problems with the difficult load my Heresy´s has. mod 100% worth best regards. Pio
  15. about damping the cabinet, i did, but you sacrifice woofer efficiency and get a very small increase in low-end response, the best advice, leave the cabinets empty, and put the heresy in corners floor, just tilt up the front a bit. by the way, what is your opinion about the change in sound with the crossover mod? best regards Pio
  16. That is more of a Heresy 1.5. Not an original and not an HII. The K53nud won't seem quite as forward as the honkin' big K55. Bruce yes Bruce, in fact 1.5, some people prefer k701/k53 combo, check this pdf please (thanks to Radiogram), best regards. Pio MyCornscalaExperience.pdf
  17. no problem, i have exactly same drivers in my 84 heresys, k77 + k53 + k22 with e-2 crossovers. best regards. Pio
  18. glad to know everything is good, enjoy your speakers! best regards Pio
  19. Paralleling the caps you mention will be ok, about the inductor leave the 2.5 mH, will no affect since the essence of the mod is in the mid and hi section. Just my humble opinion. Any one with more knowledge will chime if i am wrong.Best regards. Pio
  20. https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/119380-heresy-hbr-i-xover-smoothing-modification/ link to mod pdf: https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_id=59142 very similar to John Albright's mod but for e-2 version, i think can be used with "e" version too, i like more DrTube version because uses a cheap (smaller) capacitor and retains too all the originals parts. no need to move taps, i think worth a try. by the way, this mod sounds very, very good. best regards Pio
  21. Maybe the right word is dip, thank you for the observation. Best regards Pio
  22. the inductor is connected directly to de positive of the squawker and the tweeter crossover section remains stock, so no worries here. Thank you anyway Best regards Pio
  23. I have a nice all drivers stock pair of 1979 la scala with type aa networks with fresh sonicaps installed, as i read in a well know alternative crossover site (Alk), Quote: The Klipsch literature of the time the "AA" network was in production claimed the high crossover frequency was 6000 Hz. All of the discussion until now has assumed a 6000 Hz high crossover frequency. Look carefully at the measured performance plots of the "AA" squawker and tweeter outputs. The tweeter filter actually starts sending energy to the tweeter below 5000 Hz, not 6000 Hz! Every K55 driver I have tested has output to about 6000 Hz. This means BOTH the squawker and tweeter are generating full output between 5000 and 6000 Hz. That's not good! Early K55V drivers (the ones with push-pin connections) also had a "glitch" at 9000 Hz. i figured to install only an inductor (500 uH) in series with the k55v (push terminals type), i like to say i keep the tweeter section with no modifications. what i obtain is a none fatiguing and much more clear sound, even at loud volumes, i think Al is right with the statement that stock AA networks both mid and tweeter are playing frequencies at 5000 - 6000 hz. as a plus it helps with the 9000 hz bounce/glitch. i assume the mid driver cut is now at 4500 hz and if the tweeter start to receiving energy below 5000 hz, maybe a lilttle dip between both frequencies exist but it is not perceptible. by the way now i like much, much more the La Scala sound with this simple 4500 hz mod! and thanks ALK for the great info. hope this help somebody best regards Pio
