  1. The fuse is not the problem on 1st generation KSW-12's. I know for a fact that the manufacturer of the amplifier has been changed at least once if not twice, due to poor quality. The amplifier that is in the new KSW-12's has better components and is built a heck of alot better. I had the same problem and had to buy a new unit after having mine for only a year. (Purchased over the internet) I went to the manufacturer of the amp and tried to buy the piece from them without success. There is more to this than meets the eye. Changing the fuse value from 1.2A to 1.5A is trying to cover up a quality problem. Klipsch should step up to the plate and help out the owners of the 1st generation subs. They will loose a few loyal customers, myself included.
  2. KSW 12 blows 1.5A slow blow fuses. Sub is not in warranty, bought used, has worked great for me for a year. Has anyone else has this problem if so what was the problem and how much for repair!! Thanks Darrell
  3. Well, I went ahead and replaced the fuse with a 1.5A slow blow and same result - blown fuse. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what was the fix ie. item / component bad and associated cost. Thanks Darrell
  4. Help- After a year of flawless performance, my KSW-12 blows fuses. I read a previous post about putting in a 1.5A Slow Blow fuse. is that O.K. even though a 1.2A fuse is recomended. I bought the unit second hand so I have no warranty. I have read a few post about this problem, does anyone know what the repair cost might run? Replaced fuse with a 1.5A slo blo same result. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what was the cure and about how much did it cost? Darrell This message has been edited by darrellred on 06-03-2001 at 02:17 PM
