  1. i have the XW-300D and in fact i'm listening to music with it as a right this. i got it for a cray low price so i never had a 12 to compare to. that being said the room that i have it in a room 13' by 16' and it does the the trick just fine. Admittedly because my dad is seemingly allergic to sound, i seldom get to flex it to its full potential. i have it with 4 WF-35s and a WC-24. i watch movies pretty loud when i can and it throughly shakes the room, when it comes to music it adds a nice compliment with out being overpowering. i almost got the XW-500 (which i should have, also would have gotten it for a grate price) but i was advised to "maybe save some money". i actulat got the 300D for $150 when BB was phasing out klipsch. Hope this helps, Jon-
  2. thats a good question, i know when i was buying them when they were phasing klipsch out i remember asking why and they told me that BB just struck up a deal with energy, that all i got out of them.
  3. so i just stopped in BB just to see what they have in the speaker room, and i decided to play with the higher end of the B&W book shelfs they had... I was not, i repeat NOT impressed, at all, what so ever. i was surprised how easily they distorted and cracked, i wonder if they had been abused or if thats how they really are. in any case not carrying klipsch is their loss, the price point on B&Ws are in my opinion to high for BB, even though they have more expensive speakers there, they just don't stack up.
  4. hmm that would be the exact reason i did... until i got the speakers, i did find an audio shop where i got my receiver, but the cheapest speaker they have there in there is worth about as much as a car so... that was out of the question.
  5. its a shame but that how i got amazing deals on the speakers that i got, 4 WF-35s...2 of them i got for $200 each and 2 for 250 each, WC-24 $95 and the xw-300d for $120
  6. wow, thats impressive. i wish i had the space to get behind the jungle of cables on my setup. any time i have to plug in something new in i look at the manual of my receiver to find out the general location of the impute and feel my way there and hope i plugged it in right. some times i resort to using a small mirror to find them. not the most technical procedure, but it seams to work, and creates what i would guess is a mighty nice fire hazard...

    Pandora

This is kinda random but i'm just sitting on my couch and was listening to some Moby, and decided to see what pandora had to offer on Moby radio... its awesome grate tracks that really let my system come to life, and truly pisses off my dad, so you know its good. (he's seemingly allergic to and audible sound) For you Pandora fanatics out there, any channels that you enjoy??
  10. where did you find that the WF line is being discontinued?
  11. i wonder if you can set the receiver to change those settings back to large for the fronts when you switch it for a music mode????
  12. Youthman has it right on the money i had issues with this as well and just setting all the speakers to small solved it, let the sub do its thing, let the fronts focus on clarity and all the little children will rejoice.

    Two subs

now do you have 2 sub plugs on your receiver or are you going to be using a Y cable? and if so what are your opinions on it.
  14. i have 4 wf-35s as fronts and surounds and i have them set to small, letting the stub do all the work and it sounds just fine.
  15. when it comes to plasmas vs lcds and what-not it really is personal preference, yes it does mater the lighting conditions of the room but not as much for every day viewing. personally i'm not a fan of plasmas, there are a loyal group of followers keeping the technology in the stores, but to be honest plasmas aren't going to last NEARLY as long as LCDs, they get pretty hot which can cause burn in on the screen no matter how much they advertise that had been fixed, its still an issue. i my self have a samsung 8000 led LCD and i love it. good luck with your decisions
