  1. http://www.hometheatershack.com/forums/databass-movies-deep-bass-dmdb/ You can find all your low hurtz movies with waterfalls.
  2. Lord of The Rings. Incredible Hulk, U-571,Master and Commander, Finding Nemo, Terminator Salvation, Transformers 2 and so on and so on. There are a few cd's I have also that have content lower than 15hz: Battle Music of Beethoven and Liszt(5hz), 1812 Overture(7hz canons), Great Fantasy/Adventure Album(10hz most of the album), and Time Warm(13hz most of the cd) And when it comes to subs mine will handle sub 10hz no problem. And I didn't need to spend $28,000.
  3. Well........I think I am settled on building the Jamboree from Dana. I am still having problems figuring out which top combo would be better though: a402 or the BMS(4592 mid)/Beyma(CP25) Between the options the 2 tops would cost almost the same but thats all I know. The 402 if it costs about $1000 I would need 3 so thats $3000. Now the BMS/BEYMA would cost about $17-1800 for just the drivers and then it woud cost about $1200 for 3 of Gregs V-Trac tops. So I am guessing the shipping will be about the same cost so all things considered which would one to choose? Because money is not really a matter between the 2 I can only really go by what others think and some specs I find. I do know that the 402 is obvisouly been tested and proven so I am not worried about that one. Just curious about the other option. I have read that some feel the only way to improve on the 402 would be to add a midrange horn to lower the bass bins upper range. BUT this is just what I have read not tested so I have no clue.
  4. Sorry I didn't mean to say I wanted to mix types of horns together just that I would have a bass section that would be good from 60-200hz and then have a conical horn mated to 2"CD or whatever. Pass on the Lowthers. Alrighty. Dont the Jubilees cost about $6000?
  5. Well after checking out the links William had a nice tapped 60hz horn that would be nice with a CD but the TH only goes to about 260 I think. I know the BMS driver can go that low but is recommended to be crossed at 300hz. Just wondering but how do low voices(baritone) sound through a "bass-midbass," tapped horn? What is the ideal or lowest freq to cross the 402 at? I didn't see any conical horns. WHo had them? I feel like I am trying to make a Avantgarde clone now.[] I wont toss out the idea of the Klipsch bass bin and 402 but after taking everyones advice and emails I am starting to wonder more about this tapped horn/ top. I have seen others with Lowthers and conical horns and wonderful results down to whatever hz. I have seen other conical and straight horn designs which were able to go down to 2-220hz and then they built a tapped horn or conical horn mountedto a 7" driver. Many possiblities but I am thinking now that there are only 2 options that I need to learn alot more about. "Jub"Jamboree/402 and the 402/TH or other bass option. Of corse I am sure there are other options but I will stick with these for now.
  6. I was looking at the option of using one of these horns: http://www.azurahorn.com/azurahorn_horns.html BUT as it looks I think the 402 is a bargain. The horns from the linked company are not cheap by any means. And this horned option would not fit behind the screen. And this one is made here from the link above. BUT like I said suddenly the 402 is a bargain compared to these options. PLUS the 402 will fit within 24 inches.
  7. I am still liking the idea of the 402 for the top. Size doesn't really matter with the exception f maybe shipping to my destination. ANy idea on how much the 402 asembly weighs? I dont think I would have the room for the straight horns. I am trying to keep everything around 24".I have seen some 2-4ft horns that I thought would be awesome to try but just dont have the room in my HT behind the AT screen. I believe I saw someone had a 100hz or so horn that had great results and a high hz horn or some size above that. Looked crazy but I heard it wa awesome to hear. I think it was an old thread on another forum. I believe the gentleman who designed it was from Canada named Bill. Cant remember his last name. I am also not sure I could built/purchase a straight horn and anything else I need for less than the price of the 402. But I am confused now again on why is the 402 so expensive if the CD is the BMD750? Do they modify it? The CD is fairly inexpensive compared to the combo I was going to buy. BMS/BEYMA Is the money all in the horn?
  8. In case I missed it how did you smooth out the horn? Oh and is this the BMD750 CD or the K-69a?
  9. I dont know much about a custom straight horn either. My subs will probably be crossed at 80hz so that about as low as the mains need to go but I cant say for sure until I have everything working together.
  10. I would like to use the L/R in 2 channel but I could always go 2.1 and be happy also. I will have an AT screen which I am trying to keep the depth at 2 feet from the front wall. I had a BFM THT sub which was a 36" x 36" x 30" monster. I have decided to make another sub which will reach the lower HZ I want but will only have a depth of 24 inches. So if I can keep the depth to 24" is the plan.
  11. Cant remember the name of the thread but the gentleman with the 510 mounted to a piece of granite was awesome looking.
  12. Thanks Marvel that clears things up a bit. Now I just need to figure the whole 402 vs BMS/BEYMA option. I cant fit the MWM's in my future HT. [:'(] I only have 54 inches of room per L/R I can however fit anything else. So between the La Scala and the Jubilee I am still undecided. I am leaning towards the Jub because I would listen to a lot of 2 channel content if I had them because I dont have alot of SACD or anything with 5.1 or greater setups. So even though I might cross them higher than they can reach I would still be able to enjoy there full potential when in 2 channel. And whose are these La Scala's: It could just be an awesome recording but they sound very good for a youtube video.
  13. Iam starting to lean towards the Jubilee. I was going to go with a 3 way before consisting of the BMS 4592 for the mid and the Beyma CP25 for the high. I was going to be using a Behringer crossover for the cross duties. BUT, after asking others on here people have mentioned getting the 402 and just having a 2way. So thats why I was throwing out the idea. Just trying to gather more info. I thought I was sold on the BMS/BEYMA but not 100% now.
  14. How do I find Bob Crites on this forum? I am trying to figure out what is the diff between the CW1526 and the CW1526C. OK just saw that one is stamped steel and the other cast frame. Is there any other differences? It says that one should not be used with the La Scala, is that because they vary in size? Are these the same spec and SQ wise?
  15. How much do they La Scala and Jubilee stick out from the wall when placed at the corners? And just to be sure these cabs all need to go into a corner or no? Looks like these cabs will actually need about 36"'s because of the corner placement even know they aren't actually that deep. And regarding the pic of the mounting aparatus for the 402 I didn't know if it was similar to the Krix or not: http://krix.com.au/Product/Detail.aspx?p=45&id=24 or if it looked like the mounting bracket for the mid horn on there 3 way model: http://krix.com.au/Product/Detail.aspx?p=45&id=36 Thanks
  16. And thanks Cask05 for your reply. I finally got a chance to see what Dana had built/designed. I didn't know he had a website till now. Those J2's look pretty impressive.
  17. What ever L/R I end up going with I will always have a subwoofer. My 2 Maelstrom X 18 build willbe the only thing I know of that can provide the lower range I want at the levels I want. 30hz is awesome but I am talking about reaching 5hz. I have a few cds that have tracks that have 7hz-15hz tones in themand when you finally here the lower hz it is .........AMAZING. Hard to desribe unless you hear it. I remember watching Incredible Hulk for the first time with a sub that could actually play the lower range and the sonic gun Hulk gets shot with is amazing. LOTR, Black Hawk Down, C.A.C., U571 and Finding Nemo ect. SO I might have to rethink where to cross my subs at but I will decide more on that when it is all in place. I wouldn't want a huge peak at 40 and 60 hz. But that will just require some fine tuning with REW, Behringer and other tid bits.
  18. Yah I have emailedDana many times and have gotten no where. No biggy there are other options out there. [6]
  19. You guys didn't even answer my question......I know a cloe who.....thats for another forum....hahahah anyways. Thanks again for all the helpful info. Did you get the pics of the back of the horm tosee the assembly to hold the 402?(dust and all)
  20. Sorry I am just throwing ideas out there but would this horn not be a good option instead of the P.audio? DDS CFD 2-60X PRO
  21. WOW!!!! Those 402's are large. Does the BMS 4592 mid not compare to the 402's CD or the BMD750? The BMD750 is definitely a cheaper option than the BMS 4592 mid. What are the angles on the 402 horn? And is the A402 assembly heavy? Oh and yes they do have baseball here. I am from the USA and I have only lived here for 2 years so I am well informed about Baseball.
  22. Maybe I should just build some MWM's.....hahahaha sarcasm I will have to send him an email later and see what he has to say about parts. Any clue about a price for the 510? Do you have any pics of the mounting aparatus for the 402? This was originally the design I was going to clone: Either the 2 way or the 3 way 3 way: http://krix.com.au/Product/Detail.aspx?p=45&id=38 Here is the link for the 2 way: http://krix.com.au/Product/Detail.aspx?p=45&id=24 So with the 402 it isn't that much of a diff than I wanted to have anyways. I got to hear these models the other day: http://krix.com.au/Product/Detail.aspx?p=45&id=47 That was a fun day.
  23. I will have quite a few sound applications for absorbing initial first and second deflections of sound. I will have to have my subs when I want to feel 5hz from BlackHawk Down or other movies. There is quite a bit of content below 12hz in movies now and I am building the subs to be able toreplay all of it. Well I would love to build a Jub but I think I will have to stick with the La Scala because of what I have found available info wise. I was looking at the Bob Crites website and was looking at the replacement parts. Is there were I could go to get my parts for a build? http://www.critesspeakers.com/prices-other_stuff.html I saw he had a 12" and thought maybe 2 of these would be the Jubilee? Have you heard the Jamboree? And how low do the La Scala's go? In regards to the 510 vs 402 is there a difference in clarity? ANd how tall is the La Scala with the 402 on top?
