  1. Yeah those look awesome! Welcome to the dynamic world of 104dB 1W/1m...
  2. Two Elemental Designs A3S-250 sealed 10" subs on the way! [] http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/t/57661.aspx?PageIndex=1 ([]D'oh!)
  3. Man mine were twice as much (still worth it IMO)! Congrats on the score
  4. Before: After: Should I reconnect the tweeter protection circuit or do I not need to worry with my 30w tube amps?
  5. Thanks. Can you take a picture of one top down? That would really help me out a lot. ...I ask on the community because I figured I would get a response faster. My new capacitors came and I want to get these done tonight.
  6. I'm about to recap my AA networks but I wanted to use Crites' layout as a sort of guide for mine. Can somebody post a detailed pic of his AA network? Thanks
  7. Aha. Didn't see them under the blanket of dust. How do you do that?
  8. That is very pretty wood. Lookin' good! [Y]
  9. Has anyone attempted to build La Scalas with dual bass bins (above and below mid/tweeter section or two below)? I think that would look really cool.
  10. My capacitors should be delivered today. I had ordered both stock-value replacement caps plus the caps and resistors needed for the attenuation circuit. I'll try just refreshing the network first and see how it sounds. If it's still too forward I'll add the other parts. How do you remove the crossover from the box?
  11. Interesting suggestions. I'll try those. I still have yet to experience these speakers with good capacitors too... A bit of a side question- would padding the doghouse improve sound quality?
  12. I don't see a 16 ohm resistor by mills but theres a 15 ohm one. Thatll work shouldnt it? Just ordered sonicaps
  13. Thanks. I'm about to place an order for some sonicaps. Should I get Gen 1 or 2?
  14. My La Scalas begin to fatigue me after several minutes of listening to music and I think it's due to the midrange "squawker" is a little too loud (esp. since I use these in a near field space). Is there a quick way (a resistor in series with the driver perhaps?) to attenuate the squawker about 4 dB until I get updated networks?
  15. Now for the issue of upgrading or reconditioning. I'm considering four options. 1 Just replace the caps with sonicaps 2 Buy Crites AA networks with all new components 3 Buy a Crites A/4500 and CT125 tweeters 4 Buy ALK networks (more expensive for their universal x-overs) After listening to my speakers for a while I get listener fatigue because the mids are a little overbearing. Will new crossovers help balance them out? Also I notice that they sound pretty boomy around 100Hz at moderate volume (could be attributed to my undersized room). What can I do to tame the resonance (besides rebuilding the boxes out of 1" material)?
  16. The badge is in between the mid and the tweeter (not obstructing either). I have tried angling the speakers up but it didn't make much difference.
  17. It sounds good, and I'm sure with more playtime in the cart it will sound better.
  18. After a grueling four day wait, it finally came. I just got done raiding my parents' attic and I found some more albums, among which was Alex De Grassi Slow Circle which I am listening to right now.
  19. OH nuts! I accidentally clicked in all of those places! [] must...exercise...self...control...
  20. Since my Debut III should be here any minute now, I had decided to run down to my local record store to start building up my collection. I didn't expect anything good but I think I scored fairly well with these: Not bad for a first find. Now to find some Coltrane, Brubeck, Marsalis, etc.
