  1. Thanks for all your replys. Flooding is NOT normaly a problem here, I just had a water pipe break, and took out the Kitchen and Livingroom, and down a hallway. And it's a DRY Heat here in Vegas..... The carpet is all up, and haveing new put down in about 2 weeks, so trying to come up with something before the last minute. I do have a way out side, and then up into the attic in a piece of conduit and run my wires around that way. Just NOT looking forward to getting up there as hot as it's been the past couple of weeks. Gets hot in the attic in a hurry here in the summer. There's just two inside walls I'd have to fish down for the side and the rear surround. If you haven't read my post in another section, I got a good deal on 2 sets of Heresy II's to go with my original Heresy I's. Already talked to someone about replacing the crossover in the old speakers. Any way, that's the plan...... Always looks good on paper. Thanks for all the help and sugestions. Mike
  2. Is there anyone out there that can build me two crossover circuits for my old Heresy I. I heard that the caps are probably bad, and I just purchased two hereys II for the rear, and would like them to sound as good as posible.. Any sugestions???? Thanks for any advise MT
  3. Has any one ever cut a grove in their concrete slap and layed the speaker cable for the rear surounds, and the side speakers in it and covered it up with expandable patch? I am trying to find an easy way out from fishing the walls, and climing in the attic here in Vegas to get the speaker cables to where I need them. Had a minor flood in the house, and the carpet and pad is all up and out. Just seemed like a easier way. If anyone has done this,, that did you use to cut the grove in the concrete, and how did it work? Thanks, MT
  4. Just a few quick questions. My house is tore up because of water damage from a minor flood, so the carpet is all up. I seen a post on running power under the carpet & pad. My question is do you think it would be OK to run that FLAT speaker wire under the carpet and pad for the back and side channels and take the easy way out , or run a heavier gauge wire through the walls? If I did it now, I could even tape the wire down with the ever usefull duck-tape to keep it in place and put the pad and carped right over it. Any suggestions? Also, I will have carpet in the room, but no draperies ect right now. I was looking in a few sound rags, about accustic sound squares that are hung on the wall. kind of expensive depending on how many, ect. Were could I find out about these, and are they any good, and do you have to be a rocket scientist to figure out where to put these? I just posted in another section about picking me up 2 more pair of Heresy II speakers in the box for a decent price, and going with an all Heresy home theater - Audio room. Wife calls it the living room, but what does she know....... Thanks for any help, advise, ect.... Mike T
  5. Thanks for the advise. I found the dealer on the klipsch website, and called all the local Heretige dealers..(?). The one that really suprised me was a kareokee place...selling Klipsch? But they had the 2 new pair of The II's. I just forgot to ask if they were cherry or black, would like the wood grain to match my old ones. Are there any upgrades to be done on eather the old I's (I think thats what I have) or the II's? My speakers are like my Harley. I love them, sometimes not sure why, just a fact of life I guess. ANyway, thanks again mike t
  6. Hello every one Havn't been on this forum in quite a while, so I'll let you know what system I have, and then ask for a little advise and - or HELP. I have two older Heresy's, (116W610), don't know what this means, but I know you guys do., I have a KV3 center, Would like something better, KSF-S5 rear speakers. I think I could do better here also. Have a Denon 5803 Reciever, 3910 DVD Player, Sharp Aquos 45" LCD HDTV, Pioneer LD player, and SVS Subs. Now, I'm trying to get things together to set up my system after a long absence do to a flood in the house. Thought I'd just remodel everything as I go. I need to get something another couple of speakers that will go good with my Heresy's that I already have. Some one here in Vegas has a brand New set of Heresy II for $750 in the box, ect. Is this a good price for these, and will they match up with mine timber - wise? And what what should I use for a Center Channel? He does have 2 sets hes trying to get wrid of, so I could go 6.1 Heresy's everywhere. I know the Heresy III are out ( I think), but quite a bit more, and the La Scalla's.......... What more could I say, except I don't have the room...... Thanks for any advise or recomendations, or...... Thanks, Mike T
  7. Thanks everyone for the replys. I am very happy to hear that the Heresys would stand up to those new BIG boys (RF7's). Maybe I should start looking for a couple more Heresys to buy for the rear's. What would be a good Center speaker that would sonicly match up good with the Heresys? JM... I already have twin SVS subs for the Bass, and a Denon 5903 to drive everything... Thanks again, Mike
  8. I am thinking of upgrading from my old Heresys in the front to maybe the RF-5's or 7's and matching center. Would this upgrade knock me out of my chair? Has anyone else here upgrade from the Heresys to the Ref. series? And if so, how was the improvment? thanks for any help.. Mike T
  9. Anyone looking for a Klipsch SW 12 II Subwoofer, Light oak cabinet???? I'll have one for sale as soon as it gets back from being repaired for the fourth time in two years..... Mike

  11. Thanks to everyone who replyed. I'll try those different settings. Right now I think I have it just the other way around, the Sub output level is high, (7), and on the Amp, the LFE is -3, and sub is 0. It's worth a try. Then I'll call Tech Support if that doesn't sound any better. Love that BASS.. 13. Hi All... Sorry for my ignorance, I'm knew around here so I have an excuse, but I bought a pair of used Heresy's years ago. I see everyone here knows what year they were built. How do you find this out? I don't see a date on the lable anywhere. Just Klipsch Heresy HWO, and a SR #. Are there good years and bad years, (like wine?) I've been a Klipsch fan for years, and never knew this place exsisted, let alone tweaks for my speakers.. Wow! I may have found a new home. 14. Thanks Mikekid I have the low pass set at about 60, and level at 7. The two movies it sounds the worst in is the Terminator during the first battle sceene, and the Haunting, during most of the movie. Thats without really cranking it very loud. I'm useing a good monster sub cable to the amp. Anyway, thanks for the reply. Mike T
  15. Hello Everyone. I have a SW II Sub I bought from Good Guys a few years back. I've had it in to there repair shop three times now in the last year. As long as it is turned way down it is OK, but during action seenes the sub often POPs. Scares the &$%@ out of me when it does. It also rattels or vibrates (like something loose) at a certain tone level. Of coarse Good Guys sends it back and said nothing is wrong. One time they said they did replace the driver. Any Idea on what I can do? Thanks very much. Mike T
