  1. Thank you. I saw the front port on the picture, but I know some front ported speakers also have rear ports and wanted to be sure these didn't. RK
  2. Hi, Can anyone tell me if this speaker has a rear port? Thanks!
  3. Hi, I have an old KV-3 center channel speaker that I want to use in a new 5.1 setup. The fronts and center need to go in a built-in cabinet in my living room. There is room for a pair of medium-sized bookshelf speakers for the front R and L channels. Looking through the archives I found the following speakers that would fit in the cabinet: KG-2.2 KG-2.5 KSB-3.1 SB-3 RB-5 RB-5 II Which do you think would match up best with the KV-3? Thanks, Robert
  4. Thank you for explaining that. Would you expect any difference between the two types of tweeters in terms of their reproduction of higher frequency sounds?
  5. Thanks. What is the difference between a phenolic dome and a polymer dome? The one with the polymer dome was the replacement model for the one with the phenolic dome - I would hope that the newer model sounded better.
  6. Hi, Can someone who is knowledgable about such things please compare the specs on these two speakers and tell me what the difference between them is? http://www.klipsch.com/na-en/products/kg-2-2-specifications/ http://www.klipsch.com/na-en/products/kg-2-5-specifications/ http://www.klipsch.com/na-en/products/kg-2-5-specifications/'>What differences would you expect to hear when listening to them? Thank you, Robert
  7. Hi, Does anyone know when Klipsch began overseas production? Not trying to start up a debate, just need that piece of info. Thanks, Robert
  8. Flame on, I'm keeping the wife. All 5 speakers have to be concealed. We built a nice new entertainment center that will hold the fronts and centers behind grilles on the cabinet doors. The rears will have to go in the ceiling. The compromise is that I will get to have a subwoofer somewhere in the room, which believe me is huge. []
  9. Wife has vetoed the 1.2s on the floor. She doesn't want to look at them (that is why my Forte IIs have been in the closet for the last 10 years []). The rear speakers will need to go in the ceiling. I think she will go along with the sub, reluctantly.
  10. Your clear oaks and oak oils are on two different pairs of Forte IIs? In the same room? Wow!
  11. Thanks for the info. My clear oaks have a rich golden hue, but maybe thats because the finish has been aging for 16 years!
  12. Thanks for the reply and feedback. I also have a pair of KG 1.2s that I could use as rears, but they'd have to go on the floor against the wall to either side of the couch, below listening level. You think that would sound better than in the ceiling?
  13. Hi, I have a 16 year-old pair of KG 2.5s and a KV-3 center speaker from the same generation that have not seen much use in recent years. Would they be good enough for the fronts and center of a 5.1 system? I know some towers for the fronts would be preferable but I am trying to use what I have, for now at least. The surrounds would have to go in the ceiling, I'm thinking of getting a pair of CDT 3650s or 3800s for those. I will also need to get a subwoofer. They would all probably be driven by a Denon AVR with 130-140 watts/channel. Thanks for your help, Robert
  14. Hi, I have a pair of Forte IIs, a pair of KG 1.2s and a KV-3 center speaker. They all have the clear oak finish. I am now looking into getting a used pair of KG 2.2s or 2.5s. Does anyone know if the light oak finish is the same as the clear oak finish? Thanks, Robert
