  1. That is correct, those are the P-27s. Ideally I guess both the side and rear surrounds should have been P-27s but as you can see from my pictures my room is open to one side (to the right) and I have windows on the left, and therefore no walls on either side to hang the P-27s on. The P-27s don't really make for a good speaker to place on a stand. I must admit that I also do like the look of the P-17b bookshelves that I use as side surrounds. So much so that if I had a bigger room I would have contemplated using them as rear surrounds as well, but there was no space. My rears are a little to close to the listening position as it is but I love the way this setup sounds - it is so immersive. The first 7.1 bluray I tried just blew me away - no reason to go to the movie theatre anymore, every time we go I am somewhat disappointed with the sound there []
  2. And finally the mighty P-39f - what a gorgeous sounding and looking speaker, that boat-tail and side pipes made me return the P-38's I first had when I realized I could fit the 39s - I just love these babies []
  3. Evening from sunny Norway!! I did post some pictures over in the HT thread a few months ago, but Palladiums deserve to be shared over and over again so I am not difficult to ask [] Here are a few shots of my setup with a 65" Panasonic - movies are better here than in the theatre!! Enjoy!!!
  4. Howdy - good to see the Palladium thread finally getting some engaging discussions going [] I ended up as initially stated, I run two Marantz MM7050 five channel power amps where I use 6 channels to bi-amp the front P39s and the center, then the last for for the side and rear surrounds. This sounds fantastic, and they give me way more power than I can use. Even if the P39's for sure can handle a lot more power I don't think i will need to upgrade for a very long time - and the power amps look so good next to the AV7005 processor (and the Palladiums of course).
  5. Thank you guys for all the great comments - I am almost blushing here I sit [:$] Kornfedksboy - it sounds simply stunning, but I'm sure you can imagine that[] Dgoreck - I had a hard time choosing the color but I am very happy with my choice - and they do look awesome in the sunlight! Tragusa3 - My wife and I visited Epcot a couple of years ago - it is like a little taste of Norway, not as sophisticated as France or Italy I guess but a very nice, safe place to live - and we do have lots of amazing nature which is free for all to enjoy!! Tigerman/TheFactor - thank you so much for the kind words - I am very happy with it, this is exactly what I wanted - the only way to better it is if I can get it all into your gorgeous HT room[] When I knew which components I wanted I searched very hard and I had almost given up finding a stand that looked the way I wanted it to and had the right dimensions - I was stoked when I finally found one and after a little drilling to get the middle shelf in the right place I was extremely pleased with how it worked out!! KlipschHead281 - Great to hear from a fellow Norwegian!!! I love your furnace/AV stand combo and your clean setup! Oh man, now you have given me another problem - to double sub or not to double sub - do I really have to shell out more money for another sub - tempting it is - broke I am (in Yoda speak)!! Boxx - thanks I really do - and I know you are enjoying your Palladiums - question, did you ever try to power them with anthing other than McIntosh?? I know that my Marantz are not really able to provide enough current to really let the P-39fs breathe but I really like listening to music in stereo when each of the MM7055s only use 2 out of the 5 channels to bi-amp each P-39f. This is the only upgrade I can envision in the coming years - change the power amps to something more worthy of the Palladiums[] Wuzzzer - I indeed did. You are correct, that is what is recommended. My first idea was to have four P27s as side and rear surrounds, and I believe this is maybe the "best" for HT. However there were three main reasons for doing it the way I have: 1 - I have no side walls to hang the side surrounds on (windows to the left and just open space to the right), and the P-27s just don't look good on a stand. 2 - I love the design and look of the P-17bs - they complement the front P-39fs and the center P-27c perfectly and look much better on the Bello stands. 3 - The couch is very close to the rear wall and there simply was not any space to place the P-17bs there. The P-27s though fit perfectly. If my room had been 6 feet longer I probably would have used two P-17bs also as rear surrounds on similar Bello stands - simply because I think they look so good - I'm vain, I know[A] Djwarila - I bought my TV in September and I had not really noticed the green tint - maybe it's just the side sunlight?? I don't know, it sure does look "black" when it is darker in the room. Thanks again everybody!!
  6. Here is the last picture - the mighty and gorgeous P-39f in Espresso color. I just love the look of them - even if they are big!! When looking at these and deciding I really wanted the P-39 but I thought I did not have enough space so I ordered the P-38s. When I got them in place I realized that I could fit the 39s and my delaer was kind enough to change the 38s for the 39s - lucky me[<)] I know that these babies can handle a lot more power than I currently have but as they are so "Klipsch-efficient" it is already more than I need[:$]. I do know that there will be a couple of more higher end power amps somewhere in my future though[H] Ok - there you are, you have now seen MY home theater - I hope you have enjoyed it, now have a great weekend everybody!! 7. Here is a shot looking the other way (from the windows), the stairs are behind the oven/chimney column. The whole open room is approx. 700 square feet but the viewing area is about 14' wide and 12' long. Which places the TV approx. 9,5' from the viewing position - perfect for Bluray. Watching "Avatar" in 3D last week I would have even liked to be closer - the quality was just stunning!! Sorry about the "clutter" on the couch - those are the covers for the fronts and center[]
  8. Here is the sub. I actually love the placement of it - I must say that this 2500W / 95 lbs beast is maybe the most impressive of the speakers so far, it shakes the couch and the floor without problem - I do not need any other device to vibrate my tush I can tell you that - awesome for great movies!!! I was originally thinking of two subs but I'm afraid that would just bring the house down[]
  9. The rears - and no, I was not allowed to move the picture above the couch so that I could have mounted the rears higher. You can just see a tiny bit of the sub to the right - it sits to the left of the couch. And the dog saw a bird outside, she is a bird dog after all[]
  10. The side and rears - with the dog paying absolutely no attention to me, just enjoying the music playing[] I know the rears are probably too close but we all deal with the limitations we have - I did pull the couch forward about a foot to leave a little room, and to get closer to the screen!!
  11. Here is the full system looking from the office/stairway area. The one thing the wife insisted on was to keep the fronts on the speakers even though I think they look simply stunning showing the silver baffles - but that is a small price to pay for getting to fully indulge in my audio heaven. I took off the covers on the fronts and center just for these pictures.
  12. Here is a side view - and you can see why I need a TV, not a projector and screen - I have too much sunlight!!! (Ok in the winter it is dark from 3:30 pm so it could work but then again I would be s***d in the summer when the sun doesn't set until after 11 pm[H])
  13. And here is a shot straight on showing the electronics. The Marantz AV7005 handles everything and I love it!! I use two Marantz MM7055 5 channel power amps to bi-amp the two P-39fs and the P-27c (6 channels) and drive the P-17b sides and the P-27s rears. The top shelf shows the Oppo BDP-93EU, my Norwegian Get cable PVR and a Marantz UD5005.
  14. Greetings from across the pond [] Being a recent Klipsch-convert from the cold Viking land I have with awe read thru all the 218 pages in this thread - and all I can say is WOW. Not only have a learned a lot but I am so impressed with what you guys have done - from the smallest location and budget to the immaculate home theaters I think most can only dream of. I have been one of those for many years! Without embarrasing myself here I was one of the ones who had the first stereo VCRs and connected it to my small stereo system - for what was in the eighties a mightily improved and impressive sound compared to what came out of that 19" CRT TV[] Well, after that you move out on your own and college, your first car, the first job, marriage, your first house, refurbishing your first house, extending your first house and so on - all just seem to take over. A couple of years ago, with the advent of Bluray and the 1080p TVs, the time had come to try and realize the old home theatre dream. Now, I don't have that separate room in the basement so the wife agreed to a modest 5.1 system built around a Panasonic 50" plasma, an Onkyo SR606 and Infinty Beta 40 speakers for placement in our downstairs livingroom as this is where we watch television. When I got it home I got the common "that's too many/much speakers for our living room - it looks like a home theatre" message from the missus. The result was a new 42" plasma for the living room and then to take the "home theatre" upstairs to our second lounge area. But I was a happy boy - for a while. Unfortunately the eyes and the ears adapt to the new environment too quickly. And, as 3D movies hit the theatres, TVs got bigger, and cheaper - I started to think I needed more - the sub didn't exactly shake the couch and my Onkyo lacked the punch I really wanted, upgradeitis started to enter my system [:$] I started searching the web for information, recommendations and experiences - and Klipsch emerged quickly as the natural speaker choice. I first landed on the new RF7 IIs and started gathering quotes for a 7.1 Reference system - but then I discovered the Palladiums. Well, to make a long decision process short, I decided to put all my money on the speakers as am not able to build that separate dream theater room. Of course this meant spending WAY more money on a system than I had ever thought I would [] The wife naturally think this is way too much, too many speakers, and they are way too big - but she still let me do it - how lucky am I??[A] Anyway, I'm rambling - here are some pictures - and they includes our four legged baby - a 10 year old Gordon Setter (who appreciates the 65" Panasonic as much as I do) - enjoy!!
  15. Thanks Larry, I am still eagerly awaiting delivery of everything - and will of course give all'y'all my impressions when I get it. What amps were used in the P-38 setup you listened too?? After reading just about everything I can find regarding the Palladiums it seems Macintosh is favoured. Skule
  16. I forgot to mention that the Marantz amps provide 290W into 4 ohms, and the engineers at Marantz ensured me they were capable of dealing with the lower ohms of the Palladiums - but I am of course aware of the fact that this is not high end equipment and probably doesn't have the power supply to provide enough current to really let these babies loose. Anyway, I'm very interested in hearing what you all have to say and of course any experiences/reviews other Palladium owners have :-) Thanks again - Cheers!!! Skule
  17. Hi everyone!! Well, I have just taken the leap and ordered a way, way, way more expensive speaker system than I thought I ever would - simply because I fell in love with the looks, the sound, the reviews, the Klipsch history and so on. So, as a newbie from cold and dark Norway I wanted to ask all you experienced, knowledgeable and faithful Klipsch Community users how I should properly power my babies to be?? I have been following this site for a few months and I have been reading thousands of posts on the forums and blogs and I am thouroughly thankful for all the great knowledge beeing shared here[] After much soul-searching, wallet and bank account sweet talking, and color choice deliberations I ended up settling on the following: P-38s as fronts - I really wanted the 39s but they unfotunately just seem too big for the space I have next to the Panny 65" 3D TV P-27C P-17Bs as side surrounds - my HT is open on one side out into our second floor living/office/stairway area, and I just think they look better than the P-27S :-) P-27S as rear surrounds - these will be wall mounted only about 1 foot behind the main couch/listening position (I know this is not ideal but that is all the room I have!!) P-312W - just one will have to do!! All of them in Espresso, I actually ordered them in the Natural finish but changed my mind and don't regret it after having seen (and heard) the Natural ones at my dealer. For your information my HT area is approx 15 feet wide and 12 feet deep (screen to back wall) but as I mentioned above it opens up to the right and the entire room with stairs is approx. 700 square feet. I will be using the new Marantz AV 7005 Pre/Pro and have initially decided to use two MM7055 (5x145W into 8 ohms) as power amps. I will use 6 channels to bi-amp the fronts and the center, and the remaining 4 to run the side and rear surrounds. I made this decision because a) I love the clean look of the new Marantz series, because they fit my bank account after having seriously gone overboard (at least in my mind [:$]) on the speakers, and c) because Klipsch are very efficient and easy to drive. Now, here comes the question - knowing that I probably will be killed by all'y'all for spending way too little on amps - what is your recommendation when I have finally saved up enough for my wife to allow me an amplifier upgrade??? Thanks a bunch - and Happy New Year to all Klipsch Community followers!!!! Skule
