  1. so...it is not the woofer. i swapped the known working woofer with the one that wasnt working. when i put the woofer that "wasnt working" one the cab that was working it worked fine. what does this tell me? and i have also discovered that the speakers only sound good when the i turn the volume up. at a low volume i cant hear my mids or lows well at all and the hi 's sound like its coming out of a tin can. any solutions? thanks fellas.

  3. before throwing money at it i am going to tweak around a little more. i need peace of mind that its not a blown woofer. upon inspection it looks like it is perfectly fine. no ripes or dents or blemish of ANY kind. ill let you know how it goes when i swap out the woofer with the one i know works. wish me luck...im going in...
  4. fuses are all good. i look at the link. seems a little advanced for me. if i had the tools and a video to follow i would totally try to do it myself. seems fun actually. i cant wait to really get into the nuances of amping them and the whole sound culture. first i must fix these and then get the base cabs(kp 4000) and really start going for it. any other links/threads i should look at? thanks again...opended my eyes. patrick
  5. am i just amping it wrong? hi. i have a pair of kp-3002 that i am running off my qsc rmx 1450 amp and running it all thru a dj mixer to listen to vinyl records. one of the speakers sounds blown as far as i know to call it...the faintest wisper from the base speaker. i get hi-s but now lows...well...VERY weak lows. so weak that you can barely hear it at all. i check that it wasnt just a problem with one of the channels or 1/4 inch plugs and switche each wire and plug to test them all. it is a problem in the speaker. so as to the advise on this thread i opend her up and checked all the wires and connecters...they seem to be fine. i also examined the base speaker and it seems to be fine too...no holes or tears. anymore help? should i just get another amp? how do i run a proper crossover(i dont understand this yet)? i bought all three pieces for 300 from a store that was closing down. thanks for the help fellas. patrick ps...yes...that is my actual van. pps any help with technical terms that i am not naming correctly please correct me
  6. that is helpful. from what i read so far it seems that everyone who has a pair of 3002 has the 4000 sub-woofer. i am very happy to go that way...now i just have to find a pair. BUT...the one speaker sounds horrible. i get just about NOTHING from the one speaker. i am so desperate and obsessed to figure out why it isnt working that i am about to open the other one and attach that 15inch to the one that isnt working to see whats up. any ideas? speaking of proper amping what do you think about running them off the qsc? will it run/sound well when i do find 4000? do i need to get a pair to run the crossover? that seems like a lot of questions so far so ill start with that. thanks again for the help. by the way...i mostly run my technics turntables off this system. my next big purchase will be a audiophile needle...need to research that. my gf runs her ipod of the mixer but i am a vinyl only man.
