Can you explain what you mean? Can I hook it up to the Scott with a subwoofer cable, using one of the subs inputs, if the Scott has a center channel output? If I hook it up that way, would I lose the ability to adjust the crossover frequency on the sub?

Sounds great! I can't wait to hear them on Saturday! Yeah, if everything sounds good, I won't change any of the crossovers or anything unless there's a problem...Yeah, it looks like he took tender loving care of them..I intend to do the same

I know my Scott 299C has one...I think the 340A is essentially the same thing but with a tuner...I bet it does, I'll have to look tonight...I'm new to the subwoofer thing, but if I can hook it up that way, that'd be great!

By the way, I don't have that Scott on my audio rack..that's an old pic.....it's on top of my entertainment center where the tubes can breathe

Thanks guys! When I get them home, I will be powering them with a Scott 340A receiver that was restored by Craig from NosValves...I'll have to figure out how to hook my sub to it, but I can't wait to hear the combination!

Well, I decided that I'm going to purchase some klipsch belles for $1800....it's a 14 hour round trip, but from the pics and Skype session I had, the speakers are in great condition...
The owner said he thinks they are from 1971...this will be my first pair of fully loaded horn speakers....I've only had Cornwall 3s, heresy 3s, and fortes, so I'm really excited!
I think I'm going to upgrade the crossovers first because the speakers are so old....I have a Hsu vtf-15h subwoofer to pair with them....I really hope that the bass from the subwoofer is tight enough to keep up with the belles

I am selling my M1HPA, which I have only had for about 2-3 years with less than 30 hours of playtime. It is pretty much brand new and is more like a demo item now. It sounds amazing with my Denon AH-d5000 headphones. I purchased it from Audio Advisor and am selling it because I haven't been using it. I bought it when I lived in an apartment, but now that I bought a home with my fiance, I listen to music through my main speakers. There are a few minor scuffs on the chassis, but they are only noticeable if you're looking for them. I'm asking $525 + Shipping. I have the original packaging and will make sure it has a nice outer box and will arrive safely. I will try and post pictures tomorrow when I have time if anyone is interested.

I'm selling my Klipsch B Stock Cornwall IIIs (consecutive serial numbers)... I've had them for about 2 years and they are in excellent shape. Although they are B Stock, their walnut veneer closely matches my A Stock Heresy III walnut speakers- I can't tell the difference. There are slight scratch marks on the top right speaker from my cat, but not bad at all..I have all the original boxes and packaging. I'm selling the pair for REDUCED PRICE...now $1700 + PayPal fee..I can ship them if necessary for the additional shipping fee....I live in Rapid City, SD...if anyone is interested, I'll try and post photos this week

I don't know why, but I'm against getting Cornwall iis and that seems like the best option as far as the home theater aspect and the timbre matching....how would belles sound paired with my hsu vtf 15h against my Cornwall iiis and the sub for music? Would my home theater sound horrible with the belles as my mains and heresy iiis for the rest? I know they probably wouldn't match well aesthetically, but I'm wondering about the whole timbre thing and sound

Also, those belles I'm looking at are 7 hours away from rapid city,SD! It would certainly be a gamble to drive that far

Moray, I don't have heresy I speakers, but I have a pair of forte 1s, 3 heresy iii speakers, and a pair of Cornwall iiis....I know the fortes have phenolic diaphragms and they are my favorite speakers that I use upstairs with a Scott 299C for one of stereo setups
Downstairs I have my main home theater/stereo setup with the heresy iiis and Cornwall iiis....I switch between my home theater avr marantz receiver for movies and my two different stereo receivers for music. A Scott 340A and marantz 2275
Honestly Nathan, I wouldn't have a problem modifying my Cornwall iiis and putting in the 601 horns if it would open up the midrange and reveal more detail. I would never sell them if it did that, but I don't trust myself to do it and I don't know anyone or business that could do it where I live that I trust...Rapid City, SD...
Honestly my Cornwall iiis sound just like my heresy iiis, but with more bass. It doesn't have that big presentation I wonder about. If the phenolic drivers could reveal more detail in the midrange, like my fortes, I would certainly replace my titanium ones....
The belles are very appealing to me...I wonder about that midrange and high efficiency. I own a Hsu Research VTF 15H subwoofer that's very very nice. If I got the belles, would it come close to matching my Cornwall iiis for bass with my Hsu sub? The only thing keeping me from getting them, is that the timbre probably wouldn't match with my heresy iiis which I use for my center and surrounds when I watch movies. My downstairs is my main entertainment hangout, and it bugs me that I like my fortes better than my Cornwall iiis for music and movies....
I would sell my Cornwall iiis, but they're B Stock (although they look exactly like my A Stock Heresy iiis as far as the walnut veneer) but I think it would be hard to find a buyer where I live. Maybe I should get all fortes for my home theater lol, but I'd really like to hear a full sized midrange horn to find out what I might be missing

Well, if I'm able to just screw the 601 right in, I would definitely try it....If it involves making a bigger hole or tweaking the crossovers, that would be over my head
I also wonder if that would affect the timbre match between my heresy iiis if I switched to the 601s in my cornwalls -
Hey moray,I love the bass of my Cornwalls and certainly don't want to lose that...how would changing to phenolic diaphragms change the sound for the better? Are they higher quality than the titanium or just different sounding?

thanks guys...I'm not going to modify my Cornwalls or sell them. I was just curious if you could modify them. I wouldn't have a clue how to do it anyway lol. I guess I really love the midrange of my fortes and I was just curious what else was out there. I love the passive radiator bass....I hear more detail from the fortes....I love everything about my cornwalls but the midrange...I have them in my ht setup with heresy iiis for the center and surrounds, so the Cornwall s are staying

I've had my Cornwall IIIs for almost 2 years and am unhappy with the midrange horn. I have Forte 1s which I find to be a much better speaker because I love its midrange horn. I've never heard a full sized midrange horn before and I have a chance to purchase a pair of belles for 1800$ I wonder if they'd be worth it over my Cornwall s
