Are there any Sears catalogs left?  And how old would they be?

The one I remember the most was in 1957 because they had a great toy catalog. The year Sputnik was launched.

But I'm sure they had a few more after that.

  2. The formula.....

    DIY hand sanitizer.
If you mix one ounce Aloevera gel to 3 ounces vodka, you have cheap and available hand sanitizer.

You can also add a 5-10 drops of essential oil of your choice to give it a nice smell if you want.

Also 1/4 teaspoon vitamin E oil to help soften hands should you need it.

Haven't figure out a substitute for toilet paper yet.

  3. The wife is and has been doing research on protective attitudes.

She found an article that states the 70% alcohol is more effective than higher percentages.

I have some 99.9% alcohol for cleaning of camera filters which I probably will not use now.

The last time we took the 80 mile trip to Socorro she bought a bottle of cheap 180 proof vodka to make hand sanitizer from. It's far cheaper and much more available than commercial hand sanitizer now. Add aloe and maybe essential oils and you have hand sanitizer. She paid $18 for a container of (Smirnoff) vodka which equaled 2 fifths.

I was at the dentist recently.  Her assistant put on rubber gloves and then promptly reached his gloved hand into his pocket to pull out his phone.  I would have said something if my mouth weren’t full of her gloved fingers.  He did not touch me with his phone contaminated rubber glove.  I would have prevented it had he tried.

I think it has always been about their protection.

Reading this morning about the Swine Flu and all those resultant deaths.  Somehow the media back then did not go into hyper sensationalism mode but today they do. Half the leadership and most of the media appear to disdain the idea of America and are the reason all this nonsense is going on. TDS first and only and the heck with the USA.

These days it seems to depend on which party the president is.

In the end, the world needs to hold China accountable first and foremost.  It's long overdue to stop being dependent on a communist country and "cheap" being the driving force.  Decades of letting manufacturing and technology leave the country, unbalanced trade, ridiculous spending and the general population wanting to argue over politics like pigs being led to the slaughter.  Time to put personal views of individuals aside and figure out a way to hold these idiots accountable.  They just passed a bill that one of the "no votes" claimed they didn't even have an opportunity to read and that's supposed to be their job.  I have yet to be able to find the actual "Corona relief bill" that was passed so i can read it for myself, so if any of you have, please post the link.

    The idiots may be us.

I remember when John Fluke built a "college" on their Everett, WA campus to teach the Chinese how to build stuff.

I thought then that a move like that is/was the stupidest and most short sighted vision I had ever heard of.

I'm positive that after recently fixing up both pairs of my 30's that there definitely isn't a loose piece of foam at the bottom.

It's not loose, it's attached to the back of the box.

  8. I'm trying some NuFoam Pad - 27" x 10 Yards x 1" thick from Joann fabrics who has it on sake at the moment. It supposed to be the real deal taking the place of fiberglass insulation. Their blurb.....

The versatile Fairfield Poly-Fil NU-Foam 27" x 1" x 10Yds. has something for everyone, from little ones to young campers and elderly. Besides being an ideal choice for playpen mats and crib bumpers, this densified polyester batting is great for sleeping pads, recreational vehicle accessories and comfy chair cushions. This 100% polyester batting is non-allergenic and mildew-resistant, making it a safe choice over traditional foam. Plus, it doesn't turn yellow or disintegrate over time.

People are saying mice things about it for this application.

Their website ordering page really sucks and I had to call them and sit on hold for an hour or so because the webpage wouldn't let me order.

We'll see how this stuff works out.

  9. This is pretty disappointing........

Thank you for contacting Klipsch. I am really sorry about the delay. I had to reach out to my engineering team to request this information/documentation. I was advised that we are unfortunately not able to publicly send this information. I am truly sorry for any inconvenience or frustration, however, I do not have access to this file and I am not able to send it.

    Thanks,

Can you please supply me with the Thiele-Small Parameters for the K-1036?
If you don't sell them anymore, maybe I can find a modern equivalent that is close and buy that.
Please help me and thousands of other people who need these to keep their KLF-20s alive.
    Thank you
    Greg

  10. Good info.

I did contact Eminence in hopes they were going to make some more K-1036-E(s) or had something close.

    This was the response......

    Hi Greg
I am sorry to say that we do not offer a similar stock replacement for the Klipsch K-1036-E.  What makes it rather unique is the rubber surround and longer voice coil winding height (high Xmax).
    Best Regards,
    ANTHONY LUCAS

    Klipsch K-1036-K     T/S Parameters

These measurements were taken with a DATS V3

    Ohms     6.003
    Fs           28.9 hz
    Q(ts)      .2701
    Q(es)     .2886
    Q(ms)    4.218
    L(e)       .7036 mH (10K)
    M(ms)   54.08 grams
    V(as)      3.218 cu ft

The question was asked "Why does anyone need these?"

The answer is that Klipsch no longer sells these and has no intention of getting any more. You cannot have them re-coned as there are no "kits" for the re-coners to re-cone them with.

Klipsch will not supply the T/S parameters.

If you have a blown woofer in your KLF-20 you can either try to find a used one or try to find a modern replacement.

Using these parameters you might get a little closer to the original that you are trying to replace.
