  1. Not sure where teh issues are...I have replaced the following.

Tried New wire between the AMP and center...still clips.

Hooked up center channel info to RF-7..Still Clips

    Replaced Reciver...Still Clips

Tried DVD in mulitple sources...still Clips

    Replaced Amplifier...No longer clipping.

I'll be doing somore more tests tonight. It occurs to me that I've never posted pics of my system on here. I should probably snap a few.

  2. Currently the RC-7 is set 2 db's higer than the RF-7s.

I'm beginning to think a lot of it is the signal. For example, there is a certain spot on the DARK KNIGHT Dvd where a copy yells on his Radio for everyone to go down to avoid hitting a burning firetruck. Part of his voice always seems to "clip", where it is played on the Oppo or on the PS3.

  3. I don't think an XPA-2 will be possible. I'm running out of room in my homemade rack. :( Besides, the speakers are as loud as I would ever want them. The room is 12x40. I have a shipment of cables from Monoprice coming today to hook up the UPA-5 to the heights and Back Surrounds. I'm sure they will be better off running with the UPA, than off the receiver.

  4. WOW! The music has impact...even at low DB levels. I was getting clipping on the center channel, but now have none with the XPA.

I have moved the UPA to rear surround and front height duty.

I have read some reviews that say the UPA-5 and XPA-5 are nearly identical, well, obviously not. Although there might be something wrong with the UPA-5. It didn't sound that bad. I just think the RF-7's and RC-7 suck down a lot of power.

  5. I used the 1100 for a while, and while it had its good points...I just didn't dig the touchscreen. It was easy to program and use with my equipment. (Minus the PS3), but it did work with the Oppo. (Only needed the PS3 for games) Mine has the RF system too. I'm trying to sell the whole system if you are interested...

  6. Just to clairify, my RB35's did not have the hole in the bottom, i just installed a small security screw into the bottom.

While we are talking about RB35s, mine don't have the Keyhole mounts on the backs either...even though the klipsch website says they have them. There isn't even a trace of old holes where the mounts might have been.

  7. Let me get this straight.....u have rf82ii's right? 8 inch woofers right? And you set your speakers to "small"? Why?

I have ever speaker on my system set to small. The crossoves are set to 40hz...anything below that the subs take over...I really like the sound when doing this. Then again...I came from the world of car audio before this...so I'm a bit of a bass head.

  8. I am currently using those stands to hold up my RB-35s in the back surround location. Those stands rock. Easy to put up and use. They don't tilt too far down, so keep that in mind. Placement is an issue when you need to point speakers a certain direction. (In my case, tilted down towards the listener. I couldn't go as far up as I would have liked. I had to keep the tweeter at ear level with the couch).

I did install a small security screw into the bottom of each speaker...I'm not sure it was needed, but did it anyway.

  9. I have had three ED subs. 2 A7-350 and 1 A5-350. I have never had any chuffing issues. However, I have always had a great location and room. The gain on each of the amps are around 1/4 up, and I can still pull 110+ DB on testing with the rest of the system. I've met Alex, as I'm only about 30 minutes from their location here in Iowa. He is currently building me another A7-350. Its soon to be 9.3 [:D]

  10. I am trying to sell my mint condition RS-52s with orginial boxes now for over a week at 400 plus shipping. Now granted, I haven't had pictures of them up due to my laziness. They are in mint conditon though, they only came off the walls so the RS-62s could go up. If you were interested I will take pictures of them tonight when I get home.

  11. If you decide to go with the RS-52s, I have set for sale. They are in mint condition, hung high on the wall. I upgraded to RS-62 to better match my new RF-7s.

Send me a PM if you are interested.
