I would they are awesome! I like them a lot..."acoustic sound design" had then on sale for $399.00. I am getting 2-3 pair. He is also a official klipsch dealer so you get the warranty.I’m thinking about the RB-61ii for rears.
Free shipping?

Like these look nice and are about the right height
-
Best bookshelf stands that are at least 40” high and can
hold the RB-62II? Price vs value

I had the RS-52 and did care for them at all...I like direct firing MUCH better! Can anyone compare and contrast these surrounds? I decided on surrounds vs bookselves for my side speakers but now I have to decide on size. Probably can't go wrong with the 62's.... but wondering iof anyone has any personal experience with 2 or more sized surrounds I listed here. I can get the rs42's for $225 where the rs62's are gonna be closer to $700-$800. So is the big difference in price worth it? Is there a noticible difference in sound? I'll be able to send 110 watts to the side surrounds BTW
Rob you have a really big room so direct firing speakers
probably helps everything to cut though.
I’m not saying ones better just pointing that out. In a small room like Jason
has not having all his speakers facing right at his head might have a result
closer to what he’s looking for (or maybe not). Plus the RS line design is 100% surround duty and
gives an open space sound that can make a room sound bigger than it is. Example
an effect coming from a direct firing speaker in a small room will sound like
its coming right from the speaker. The RS line doesn’t give up its position very
easily it’s kind of behind, side, and in front of you. In a large room like
yours that open space sound probably didn’t cut though as well. Would have probably
needed the rs-62 in a room that size.

Have you watched any 7.1 movies yet with the 6th
speaker? Was it a pretty noticeable improvement?

Anyone with experience using this frontstage think it's worth $500 used? Couple drivers have small dimples but I could replace if I had too for $100 total.
When I sold mine I got $400 for the rf-82 and $200 for the
rc-62. Sold them to a good friend and I only paid about 60% of retail for them
but I thought that was a great deal for him (he paid 800 total sold the rs-52
to). To be fair I did keep the speakers in perfect condition and had all the
boxes. $500 does seem like an amazing deal
but the dented speakers would bug me to much I would have to replace them. -
I have an idea to allow u to use the audiosource amps (at least until u can get an emo). Maybe someone on here can tell me if I'm wrong (but I don't think I am). 2 options. 1. Use 1 amp for your surrounds and just power your front three with the onkyo. Or option 2. Bi-wire your front stage from the separate amp channels. Essentially sending 100 watts to each speaker without bridging your amps. Then power your rs3's with the onkyo. Any thoughts?
Option one would work best probably. Only running 3 channels
on the avr will free up lots of power. You could do the other way to but I like
option one. -
Mine is the right rear surround posts. Then I have to go in the menu and set my rear surround to 1 channel. I have an onkyo though. Yours may be different?
Well I know in the on screen set up I can change it so it
only shows one rear speaker. But I guess I will have to get the manual out to
see what speaker terminal to use. The star
wars blu ray set comes out on the 16th the whole set is dtsma hd 6.1
so it got me thinking lol. But I do have room behind the main LP (about 12ft of
room). But the room is only 12ft wide so I don’t know how much separation I would
even get going 7.1 because I probably would only have them (rears) about 4ft
apart. About the width of the couch. What would you guys do? -
What speaker terminal would you use for just a 6th
speaker from your avr? What speaker output would you use on a 7.1 avr? Just wondering
because I was thinking about doing 6.1 as well and I have a 7.1 avr.
-
Jason I have owned all 3 and imo the rs-52 would be plenty
but the 42 was a bit underwhelming. In your
case I would go 62s (just because of your other speakers and gear) and be done
if you can find a good deal on them. Maybe try and find some used rs-62. (Old
model).

Co-located subs will typically yield a 6 dB gain. I've seen twice as loud listed as 10 dB, or even 6 dB. I've never seen twice as loud listed as 3 dB.
3db IS twice as loud, technically. The way the human ear responds to sound
however, it takes 10db to be "perceived" as twice as loud
-
You want your front 3 speakers to be as close as possible
(timbre match). You can however mismatch for now and then upgrade later as you mentioned.
What is your budget and room size?
-
Should just note that it is not always a 3dB increase when adding a second subwoofer. For example, if they are stacked, you should yield a 6dB increase; same as if you measured a subwoofer in an anechoic chamber at 1 meter and then measured it ground plane at one meter.
Sometimes if you have a lot of room gain it can be a little
more than 3db but if you have two identical subs level matched it’s always 3db.
Twice as much = 3db. -
Here is the scuff that is only on the face in spots, I believe it was the cover sliding around....I am sure a black marker can take care of that.....do you guys think that is a big deal?... There is a minor scuff on one of the corners but that is probally from shipping, I have seen worse from others. I just cant think how the benzel would not just be there it almost looks like it was damaged...he removed it and shipped it?
If the box was unopened there should be no apparent signs of damage during shipping. I also agree the missing bezel is intriquing, but if you're happy with your purchase and you have a local dealer willing to help you then you are on the right track.
I know it sucks but you should return that speaker. Just too
much stuff wrong with it imo

I don’t like that the dust caps are dented...
Picky, picky...
Lol if I was replacing a driver I would want it to be at
least mint to the eyes []
-
I don’t like that the dust caps are dented but if you don’t mind
I’m sure it will sound good maybe even better than before. (Huge fan anything

Can you post a pic?

I think the w1200R is pretty old probably what 1973? What kind
of shape are they in?
-
I found a couple Speakerlab w1200R woofers local to me, wondering how they might do as replacements for the bashed cone K22's in my Heresy I speakers?
There is a tech sheet of TS parameters on audiokarma, but I can't see images until I am approved by the moderator.
Speakerlab what a great speaker in there day! I have two
pairs of these (black grills though) in storage with the W12O8R drivers. Amazing
bass from those speakers!

Epik makes great subs and I love the empire. Chad the owner
is a super nice guy who will talk your ear off and also let you talk his off. However
the legend has had amp issues being too hot and shutting down (I think it’s underpowered
for two 12s). It kills me to say anything bad about epik but just giving it to
you straight. Tons of happy legend owners but I have just read too many
problems with the amp to recommend them. Until they fix it I would go another
direction. The one thing I have noticed about the big four epik/svs/hsu/ed is
that there smaller models have amp issues. I would try and get a mid-sized one
if possible if you can spend 900 on an empire you would be blown away. Another option
would be two emo subs but they don’t reach down to that 20 -25 Hz range with
much power. And for movies 20-25 Hz sounds awesome when the sub can hit it hard,
and flood your room with it. Bass is a whole new addiction and after you get a taste
of good bass you will want more and better. So imo if you can’t afford a mid-level
(900-1200 range) new try and find one used. Not saying you won’t be happy just giving
you my experience.
-
Did you sell your 19” tv? lol
-
Well, thats just it. I was looking for input on the NAD and it's power only because I'm not 100% sold on the Emo. I hear they are great amps, but $200 is still $200. Honestly, I probably will just wait and see if they have a sale around Christmas time.
Emo resale value says it all. They sell for almost what they
cost new. In fact I could probably sell mine and make a few bucks (bought mine
in dec 2010 new for $707 to my door before they raised the prices). You already
saw what you get when you buy junk (no offense)
