  1. Hello all, Actually got a 3.0 setup, Khorns main & a Heresy center. As a mater of space in right/left listener erea, Heresy as surrounds seems too big in my config. Would a pair of KG1 be good for surround sound & timbre match with my setup or is it a bad idea ? Thank you very much Gil
  2. Hello Gary, Yep, could be an option, but not waf at all... Won't be possible here. I think a 4 feet false wall between the existing wall & the Khorn should be acceptable only if I can move it when we don't use the Khorns... The more I think, the more I like this idea very much, thanks to Tom for sharing this very interesting thread. http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/t/53737.aspx?PageIndex=1 Gil
  3. No worries, would have been a good idea... It's the only "good" place I have found for the Khorns, the sound is not bad at all and will be improved with carpets, tables, curtains & all the stuff I don't have for the moment... Also maybe I'll do some kind of false corner for the right Khorn, something like PrestonTom did would be nice, I'll think about that... Gil
  4. Hi Neil, I see what you mean, it's less than one inch long difference between the two walls, also there's not enought place between the window & the other corner to place a Khorn. Gil
  5. Two more to show room dispo :
  6. Just came in my new home, here's my 3.0 camping setup, with poor quality pics... Sorry for dust, I'm doing work in the rooms upstairs Gil
  7. Here they are : Sorry for poor quality and all the dust Gil
  8. Hello all, Finally in our new home. A lot of work to do but I have my "camping" 3.0 setup installed Will be back soon with pics. Gil
  9. Should it be 54 S 024 ? Could Be 1978 ? The seller told me before 70 but maybe he's wrong Waiting for more info Gil
  10. Thanks Gary, Serial for the H1 is HD-BR 54 50 24 I have found the easy : Heresy "decorator" with flush motor board and no grill . What is flush motor board ? Birch Raw After that I'm stuck... 54 ? 50 ? 24? Maybe the owner gave me wrong things ?
  11. Hello guys, I know I will have to go to listen them, but what would be your choice to match beter with the Khorns ? H3 700 or H1 500 ? Also I have no news yet concerning serial numbers... What do you think of the H1 ? is it original ? seems the feet & grills a bit strange for H1 ? What do you think about that ? Thank you very much & have a nice week-end
  12. Yes, a lot of restaurants still accept your animals, but you can't smoke no more in them... But can the animals smoke in them? Sure, but only salmons & ducks, lol...

  14. Hello Heli, You're right, but only the picture is different... the owner put it on the net before having some decent pics of them to show. Yes, they are 1976 In fact my goal is to have Heresy as a center waiting for a good deal with La Scala, and have the Heresys as surround when I get it. Something not very good is Heritage rare in Europe and buying 2 La Scala to use only 1 as a center is a bit crazy (to me) Maybe the best would be a CornScala from Mr Crites as a center because I can buy only one (I think) and have 2 La Scala as surround I'm sure your setup IS awsome, thanks for your reply, also as you say the fun as begun and it's a bit early for me to think about HT setup before beiing in the house [*-)]
  15. Hello guys, thanks a lot for your feedback. Haven't got my home yet... Probably get in early January... I have another question. What model would be better Heresy as a center ? Heresy I with also all alnico to mach with my Khorns ? Or new Heresy III Thanks a lot & have a nice day Gil
  16. I think I see what you mean, I'll do something like Tom Buell (Preston tom) did with pipe foam insulation behind the Khorns to close the volume when I am in my new home. But for now, they are in the guest room of my brother in law, and not very WAF, so I don't come often to listen 'em & don't want to start to do some work on them ^^. But your idea is still good if they were staying in this room, even if I didn't notice a lack of bass when listened to them with my low setup. Gil
  17. Thanks Peter, in fact there is a small elevation in the right corner and I could not help but put the speaker on the blocs. For a first listen it does not appear to alter the sound quality. Gil
  18. Hello guys & thanks a lot. I finally tested the monsters and I remain impressed by the sound reproduction. My equipment is not suitable but the sound is really beautiful. My setup: Cambridge Audio AV receiver 340R & Panasonic Blu-Ray disc player DMP-BD30 HDMI linked. We have listened to several good things (to me) like Hugh Laurie, Agnes Obel, Son of Dave, Selah Sue, Miles Davis, Martina Topley Bird, Buena Vista at Carnegie Hall... I have to say again, sound is amazing even if the room is a bit too small & with a little sound reverb. I can't wait to have my new home & a nice little 2A3 or 845. Regards & good week-end. Gil
  19. Hello all & thanks for all the replies, Wasn't me RagingBull, I don't like ebay very much... and the customs & shipping for a pair of Khorns from US to France is too much troubles... Well so, the monsters are in the guest room of my brother in law & the flash light from my cam is broken, so it's all I have for now... Sorry... I have cleaned them & they are really beauties even from 76'... Even without sound... I'll probably do some more better pics next week See you later guys Gil
  20. Great, sooo... I'm like what a 1400km drive week-end do... We drove, we listend to them for 2 hours & a half, we bought them, put them in the car, slept in a small Hotel and drove back home... Triode tube amplifier, DA converter, midrange CD player, premium cables & 2 corners in a room. This is all a pair of KHorn needs... (maybe put them out of the car first, & don't break your back...). These monsters are simply amazing, when you listen to a live CD you are at the forefront of the concert... This is true, the Jazz band is IN your room with only 2 watts ! This is crazy and we love it... I'm anxious to find a home for them now, and also for us, incidentally. But until, I don't know where to put them, it's a shame... I think I'll have them here, in my apartment, not very well placed, but it's temporary short-term, sooo... we'll see that soon... I'll be back soon regards Gil
  21. I have no pictures, maybe I'll do a drawing when i'm back on Sunday from the 76'... thanks anyway have a nice week-end Gil
  22. They are in the corners of the entrance to the living room, so with a door between the two Khorns. This is in a designer house, a large stairway in concrete going on from the left and behind them at about 4 meters and is open on the second floor I don't know if it's really clear...
  23. I just listened to the 84' Birch Raw Klipschorn, and ... I don't know, I have not been transported, I was not disappointed but I certainly expected more ... Maybe it comes from the very big room, a lobby lounge open by 7 doors and very high ceiling and tiled floors without carpet ...or the amplifier may be inappropriate... or the only 2.5 meters between them... I did not feel the bass that much ... Clearly these are very good speakers and the reserve of power is enormous, but I don't know, I haven't had a very good sound impression... Also i don't know if the guy really wants to sell them because he wants way too much for them ... This weekend, I'm going to listen the 76 ' If we fall in Love for them we'll buy 'em Regards GIl
  24. Ok guys, thanks a lot for the great feedback, I know now what I have to do... I knew it but I'm now sure ... I live & work in the north of France with my girlfriend but working in my house near Paris the week-ends to sell it soon, i hope... So... I am planning to go to listen the birch early next week. And I'll go to listen and maybe buy the walnut before the end of the month... But... I have no place at this time to put them somewhere before selling my curent house & find another in the north... I'm in the mood for Klipschorn, so, I'll have a pair, but maybe I won't listen to them for a time with this lack of a decent place I'll post soon pics & feelings about the birch when listened thanks all anyway Gil
