  1. I 've decide to keep the 500c and have Craig do a complete rebuild on it. So if anyone is looking for a really beautiful SX-1250, mine will be going up in the next few days. I'm thinking of offering it at $800 plus shipping. Any thoughts on the price, or just put it on the Bay, where people have been paying crazy prices.

  2. I wish I only had 2 receivers to choose between. Nak, Denon, Sansui etc. I think I'm becoming the hoarder, so I've been told to thin it out. I have enough gear for 2 systems, so I am having a hard time selling the Fisher. I restored a 1919 Victorola cabinet that the Fisher fits in beautifully. I dropped a turntable in where the old speaker was and have the amps inside under the Fisher. I really like the way it looks.

The 1250 has been restored by a gentleman out by DeKalb who does great work so I should get quite a few years out of it.

  3. I'm in Chicago and am looking for a 1 stop shop for repairs. Receivers and pre/pro seems to be the issue at this point. I''m going to try and rebuild the cones in the passives on my Forte II

Can anyone recommend which way to turn, I know Midwest Audio is close, but I do have somewhat of a budget

Thank you in any advice you can pass along

  4. Hoked them up last night, one of the tweeters is out and as I said they punched the passives out when they loaded them. My fault, I told them I would take care of it and they were just helping out. I kind of like the add on cabinets, It sets the bottom of the speaker just at the top of the couch. Quartets are in the pic next to the new Forte II

  5. I picked them up today. Nice people just in their hurry they loaded them face up and puynched the passives out.Kinda of interesting. they made bases for the fortes almost the same size as the forte itself so the stand almost 5 feet tall. They did a nice job with the paint job. just a couple spots need touch up. I'll post a couple pics when I get home
