  1. There is a well known guy in the Indy area that many of us have tried to purchase from.

His deals have come up in the alerts section several times, he normally is verbally abusive.

This may be the same guy, so might be of interest to those that have crossed his path.

However, feel free to move to the alerts section or delete entirely.

Wow, thanks for the information! This seems very relevant to anyone on here who sells items online.

  2. Interesting. The seller claims in the ad that these come from an electronics testing company. A company where they are reverse engineering products to see how they are made and what materials are used. They actually have (3) Cornwall III crossovers for sale. As well as several other Klipsch crossover for KPT's, etc.

  3. I book a lot of travel for my family.

Try to book at least 30 days in advance

Be flexible on dates if possible, within 2-3 days each way

Check out airports around you, and around your destination

My local news just ran a story about how when to purchase tickets at the optimal time. Data proves the answer is 54 days prior to departure. That is apparently the airlines measurement period and when prices are typically the lowest. However, I have always purchased far in advance for the best fares. Perhaps I will utilize this strategy the next time I purchase tix. One thing that I have found to b extremely helpful is too be flexible with your dates if possible. Everyone has their favorite sites, we use -cheapoair . com-, if I want to travel on the 10th I will still search for flights on the 8th, 9th,11th,12th also. Sometimes they will try to push you towards those flights anyways just to fill seats, and will offer them to you at a steep discount. We flew round trip from Detroit to Miami last October for $87 per ticket total, leaving Monday- returning Friday. Had we traveled leaving Wednesday- returning Sunday as originally planned, the same flight would have been $340 per ticket. This isn't a one off occurrence, I see it frequently in my searches. Saving baggage fees is important as is not upgrading your seats last minute, also not buying in flight entertainment and food/beverage. But my biggest savings have always come from flexibility of travel.

  4. The black center speaker with its back facing the camera, sitting atop the stool, is not an RC-7. They are rear ported and that speaker is not. The stock picture of an RC-7 appears to be of the Cherry variety as an Oak veneer was not an option. Black Ash, Cherry, and Maple is all that was offered.

  5. If you somehow end up with a deal on 3 RC 7's give that a try. Same tweeter as the RF 7 and flat out one hell of a great front 3. I have 3 myself and am currently experimenting with this configuration. Frankly I'm shocked at how good it is. It's in the living room right now but I keep getting not so subtle hints about when these things are going back out to the garage so it's soon to turn in to a pumpkin. Oh well at least the Belles can stay out here....

Yup, I've done this too. I've also used them as rears, they're actually very universal and capable speakers.

  6. I recently bought a pair of RF-7 ii... I'm wondering if I should change the center channel speaker to a RC-64?

    Yes

No. You should change it to another RF-7II

LOL. And then I'll have a big monolith in the center of the TV screen

Ah. A TV. Turn it on its side.

  7. Now four different posted prices. Yes, confusing to say the least. Let's not gloss over the fact that the ad is also entirely misleading to begin with.

"They sound exactly the same as they were new" - not sure how that's possible unless they were never ever used. Even then, as mentioned, you have parts that will still need to be updated. 30 years of aging isn't typically a beneficial thing.

"A new pair of LaScala will cost you $6k" - Perhaps, but you're certainly not implying that these are comparable, riiiiiight? Or are you? Yup, reads like you are.

This gentleman can certainly ask for whatever he'd like, they are his speakers to sell. You just shouldn't intentionally mislead people in the process, IMO. An uninformed buyer could very easily purchase these with the stated expectation that they truly are "same as they were new" and valued at $6k originally. But who knows, to him they probably do sound the same. He's also been the only one listening to them for the last 29 years straight... and that makes perfect sense. As things change around us we naturally become accustomed and acclimated to that change.

  8. Is there an Foo Fighters fan club page or the like, that this could be posted too? The added value of this model comes from its uniqueness of the different artist versions available. A premium is being attached to the cost of this one, over the cost of a non-artist endorsed version with the same specs. So it may behoove you to target your sale towards those willing to pay the premium, who really like the Foo Fighters. Cool little device though for sure. Good luck with your sale.

  9. Yes, it's unfortunate that you decided to take the route that you did, because there are quite a number of active members here in the Michigan/Indiana/Ohio/Illinois area that regularly buy and sell gear. I had seriously considered your speakers (although not at the ask), and had hoped to work with you, alas, not any longer. And if you care, (which apparently you do not), considering the crossovers and the non-consecutive serials, my estimation is that your top dollar would be $1200. Have fun.

Agreed, as another Michigan member who was also turned off. Fools and their speakers never shall part.
