  1. Sold! to a horny in Walla Walla, Wa. Thanks for the pics D!
  2. You don't still have those pics do you Doug? I deleted them, couldn't find them doing a search. And my own digital cam broke, so I don't have the ability to post pics at this time. I appreciate the kind words. Take it easy, HIGHdb
  3. I'm selling my Fortes on Audiogon. I bought these from Doug Drake a few months ago. I ended up getting my old pair of KG4.5 back that I'd loaned to someone else, and I prefer their "club" sound to the more accurate sound of the Forte. I can't find the original pics (DDRAKE may still have the pics), but they're in very good condition. Interested parties, go to audiogon.com and search Forte or Klipsch. Thanks!
  4. my tweeter stopped working......I pulled it out (k-75-k) and swapped it to the other speaker, and it still didn't work, and when the good tweeter was swapped to the other side it still worked, so I know it's not the crossover or wiring. However, while the bad tweeter was connected, and I was wiggling the connections..I could hear the tweeter working, then not working, so it seems I may have a loose connection inside the driver. Is this something I can maybe fix myself, or is the driver toast. If it is toast, where do I get a new one?...it's dated 8716. I'd obviously want to stick to a similiar driver that matches the stock ones.
  5. I emailed you my phone # ....I'm interested..........and I live right here in phoenix.......... call me if you want to sell. no shipping necessary!
  6. What differences.........and are they substantial in sound quality? I'm looking for a 2nd set of speakers to hook up when I want to listen to music LOUD. my current speaks are 92db mini monitors (MM de Capo by Reference 3A) and I only have a 20watt 300BXLS tube based amp. They play loud.......but on some disks with a low recording level, it sucks. I've demo'd the RF-7 (102db) and wasn't particulary in love with the sound, although they did play louder than I could handle, even with only 20 watts powering it, so I figure 98db efficiency of the RF3II ought to be plenty to split my eardrums.
  7. If I were looking to buy used Klipschorns.....would I be wiser getting the newer series with monster cable, etc inside, or going for an older vintage, say 1977 or so? I'm willing to do some mods (swapping horns/drivers/xovers) if necessary.... so let me know what a better choice would be.......I was gonna pick up some klf20s cheap, but my deal might be falling through
  8. I must agree with Prana. I used to be a "cables make no difference" kind of guy. as my system got more and more "highend", I found speaker cables to make a fairly substantial difference. I can't make any suggestion about upgrading to the newer monster cable, other than agree with the others.......try before you buy, it may make no difference at all. Heaven forbid we start talking about power cords...... good luck. My system consists of: Bel Canto SEP1 preamp Art Audio Jota 20w SET Muse 9 cd/dvd Dunlavy SC-IV/a KG4.5 (soon to replaced with bigger klipschs) Kimber monocle xl speaker cable Cardas golden ref connects. powersnakes sidewinders/black mambas API power wedge
  9. I have a low powered set I currently run on dunlavy speakers....4 ohm impedance...91 db efficiency. I am only running 20 watts, and want to listen to music at loud volumes.......I know both the lascala and klf30 are over 100db efficient......so they should work well in that respect. Can anyone with experience listening to these speakers give me an idea of their different sounds or characteristics? (ie more forward mid and high's, etc) I will be playing rock/pop/techno...I've had kg4.5's before but the muddy sounding bass and colored mids can't compare to my dunlavy's precision and clarity. Do the lascalas or klf30's sound this way......or are these models no comparison to the 2way KG4.5 I've had experience with? thanks in advance.
