  1. T2K mentioned that the exponential horn on the KV-3 was "beamy." Has anyone else ever noticed that? I am not sure since I do not have another center channel speaker with a Tractix horn to compare it to.I guess I could see this being the case, but is that the case in practice? I would think for a larger width room, it may happen but for rooms that are 20 feet wide or less, I do not think that this is the case. My room is 14 ft wide so I will test that out soon. For the KG 4, I would say that the KG 2.2 may be a good match. The best would be another KG 4 if you have the room. The KG 2.5 or KV-3 may work as well.
  2. I have KG 4.5's as well. Did you upgrade to the titianum tweeters on the 4.5's or are you running stock poly? I have the KV-3 but was considering another center. What about the RC-3, RC-35 or the RC-62. The specs from the RC-62 II seem similar.
  3. I am interested in this question as well!
  4. I find it interesting that the KG 1.5 & 2.5 have the K-86 tweeter, which is technically not a match to the KG 4.5K-85 tweeter. I assume the K-86 in book shelf speakers and the K-85 infloorstanding are matched even though a different tweeter is used. It just seems that Klipsch may have matched centers to bookshelf speakers but not to floor standing. Same thing with the next Synergy line, KS 1.1/2.1/3.1 and the KSC-C1 all have the K-94 tweeter, but the floorstanding have the K-97 and the KSF-S5 has the K-99. Again, I assume the rear and floor standing are still matched even though a different tweeter was used.
  5. First post, long time Klipsch owner (since 1996). I currently have KG 4.5 as fronts and a KV-3 for the center. I was considering upgrading the tweeters in all three. I have read that the titanium upgrade is well worth it on the KG 4.5 but I am concered that if I upgrade the KG's but not the KV-3 that there will be too noticable of a difference. I know the KG 2.5v is technically the match to the KG 4.5, but the KV-3 is what was pushed at all stores during that time as the upgrade over the 2.5v and the match to the KG 4.5 & 5.5. So I have three questions. 1) If I upgrade the KG's (K-85k tweeter), will it sound strange with the stock KV-3 (K-89V tweeter) 2) Can I upgrade the KV-3? If so, will it then match or be closer to the upgraded KG's? 3) I watch a good deal of movies, will the upgrade help with dialog and other sound effects? On a side note, I have a pair of KSB 1.1's coming in for myYamaha front presence speakers. Those have K-94S tweeters (silk), since those are just providing additional effects, will the upgrades cause issues the overall match there as well? BTW - My surrounds are KSF-S5's (K-99SV tweeter) and sub is a Mirage BPS-150 (dual 8" bipolar) all running off my RX-V663. I appreaciate any and all feedback.
