First post, long time Klipsch owner (since 1996). I currently have KG 4.5 as fronts and a KV-3 for the center. I was considering upgrading the tweeters in all three. I have read that the titanium upgrade is well worth it on the KG 4.5 but I am concered that if I upgrade the KG's but not the KV-3 that there will be too noticable of a difference.
I know the KG 2.5v is technically the match to the KG 4.5, but the KV-3 is what was pushed at all stores during that time as the upgrade over the 2.5v and the match to the KG 4.5 & 5.5.
So I have three questions.
1) If I upgrade the KG's (K-85k tweeter), will it sound strange with the stock KV-3 (K-89V tweeter)
2) Can I upgrade the KV-3? If so, will it then match or be closer to the upgraded KG's?
3) I watch a good deal of movies, will the upgrade help with dialog and other sound effects?
On a side note, I have a pair of KSB 1.1's coming in for myYamaha front presence speakers. Those have K-94S tweeters (silk), since those are just providing additional effects, will the upgrades cause issues the overall match there as well?
BTW - My surrounds are KSF-S5's (K-99SV tweeter) and sub is a Mirage BPS-150 (dual 8" bipolar) all running off my RX-V663.
I appreaciate any and all feedback.
