Best Vintage Receiver for Vintage La Scalas
Mossy bottom replied to Uncle Choppy's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
Welcome Uncle Choppy! Congratulations on being a LaScala owner. The three you mentioned are all great, any one would pair well with your LaScala's. Good luck on your search, and post often. Cheers -
Hello Paul, Nice selection! I agree, very underrated, but of my favorite Genesis records. Cheers.
-
Isaac Hayes - Hot Buttered Soul. Does a killer 12:00 minute cover of "Walk On By" to open the lp.
-
Side 2 opens with, "Am I Black Enough For You" - 360 Degrees of Billy Paul.

Thanks, they were incredible. I found folks either loved them or passed. The first time I saw them was in the 70's. I was disappointed. But saw them again later in the year, I was blown away and hooked. Saw them many times over the years. I would see them two and three nights in a row, and never the same set lists. I still have a lot of tapes of shows from all over. Still listen to them. They were really easy to see before MTV. I never had a problem driving to a city, going to the venue and getting a ticket hours before the concert. Just walk around the parking lot with my finger raised. After MTV, it became damn near impossible and expensive. I never got to see Pink Floyd. A huge disappointment. I have no doubt they were awesome live! Cheers

Marked down from $4.99! Thanks for the memories...I miss those old Stereo shops...They were fun. Early Radio Shacks before computers were always fun to go to as well. Yup, It's a different world...

Nice photo! Love the laptop screen! Been a long time comin' for that! I was noticing the more up beat rock rhythms as well...it was '62. Just fantastic!

For recording it certainly was the center of the world. Just incredible sound stage...you can see with your ears! Remarkable! Those sound engineers had it down!
