  1. Okay here is the outline to where the panels are going to go....
  2. Oh boy, here I go, just bought and had Home Depot cut the mdf for my build. I will post pictures of my progress as I go.. Wish me luck!! Oh someone might need to tell me how to post pics , thx!!
  3. I have an rw-12d sub that the amp needs replaced ... I've read that the bash plate amp would work to replace since klipsch doesn't service them anymore... My question is it the bash 300 or 500 plate amp, and will I just need to plug the wires into the new amp and the plate will fit flush into the same slot the existing old plate amp is? And will I need to do any EQ with the amp ?
  4. I have an email into oaudio to find out when they will get the 500watt bash in , are there any other good options or better than the bash 300?
  5. Do I need to make some sort of box for the plate amp?
  6. I looked at the design and didn't notice if plate amps were incorporated into the design, are those bash amps plate or external?
  7. Sounds like a good idea, I will look at the bash, I'm probably gonna I with umc-1 from Emotiva , I heard their stuff is pretty descent unless I can find a good deal on a denon or marantz
  8. Alright.... I've slept on it..... Definitely gonna build 2.... Using the Dayton 15" driver.... What amp should I get.... The crown xlr1000?? Thanks!!! I'll start a builder's thread once I get the materials....
  9. Thanks!! I am gonna probably get my nerve up tonight and sleep on it and make purchase tomorrow!!!
  10. The f-20 looks very doable , I could even have Home Depot do the cuts and I could do the bevels..... I have read through the threa a bit and a lot of people are usin the LAB driver-12". Is there a better driver I should consider? I am definately going to build 1 maybe 2, What's your guys' recommendation for the driver? Amp looks like the crown Xti stuff.... Thanks for the input, I wouldn't be opposed in cutting a hole in my wall , where is the thread for that build?
  11. is there a guide link for the build, what driver/amp/equilizer should i get.... thanks for the quick advice!!!
  12. Okay, I am finishing up my HT setup, working on getting my rc -64 here to match my 2 rf-63 and 2 rs-62s, This system will be primarily used for movies/tv and I'm a nerd for the kind of bass that you feel in your chest and stomach and causes you to hold your breathe.... I am open to doing a DIY as all i would need to get for tools is a jig router for cutting the holes out of the 3/4 mdf, but the only thing that scares me away from DIY is I know absolutely nothing about equilizing amps to the driver... so if anyone would educate me in a sure fire DIY thread or build I could follow and maybe even learn about how to do the DIY route i would be very thankful...... And if not DIY, what kind of sub(s) should I be considering....... Either way, I don't want to spend more than 800 to 1000 all togethor......... Thanks ahead of time!
  13. Finally piecing together my HT system, pair of rf-63 on their way, pair of rs-62 on their way, still looking for a deal on rc-64, and have Emotiva xpa-5 amp... I figured while I was waiting on the rc-64 to come available I should take a look at getting my processor... I'm leaning towards the Emotiva umc-1 at this point... But was curious if I should consider any Avr with pre--outs .... Thanks ahead of time for the suggestions...
  14. Hey, I've posted on the forums previously and really need all your input.... Okay so I was bouncing back and forth between staying with klipsch and buying psb or jbl.... I have come full circle and decided to stay with klipsch for many reasons.... So here is my dilemma, I am trying to figure out exactly what series to go with, this system will be used primarily for movies/tv 90%, music 10% , I want a 7.2 system, am probably going to by pieces at a time as I find deals I can live with, I have only heard klipsch's new lines, so vintage is probably not an option as I would not have heard them... My rooms dimensions are roughly 17x15x 8 with ceiling beveled in to 5 feet high over 3 ft on one wall (where my tv is 73" dlp Mitsubishi ), are 62II plenty of speaker with matching components or 82II package, I am currently piecing together the amps/processor and got a heck of a deal on an Emotiva amp 5 channel xpa-5, I am probably going to get the xpa-2 at some point to push the towers, considering an Avr with pre-outs utilizing audessey like marantz or denon...... All suggestions welcome on amps/processors and if I should try to hold out for rf-63 or rf-83 system or any other package I should consider.... Thanks ahead of time!!!!
  15. Boomer Sooner! Can't wait for Football season to get here! Thank you for linking that thread, I feel I'm just starting the Journey you went on.... I just met with my building supervisor at the house I just bought, (unfortunately I didn't get to design the way the bonus room was setup as far as shape) but I do get to decide what wire is put in the walls so i told him 12x2..... Can't wait to start piecing my system togethor..... I will try to pay for everything in Cash but, If i see a deal i can't pass up...I'll just have to pay it off fast..... thanks for the input everyone
  16. I see a lot of people going after the SVS sub.... I assume you are talking about the rf-63's? seem to be priced pretty well, did you have to mod them in any way?..... Also, can someone explain exactly what audio components (amps, processors etc) I need to get to push an rf-7 or even the rf-63's.....or link an article that explains what i need and why it makes a difference/how it makes a difference in pushing the speakers......I know people say its all about preference, but when I watch movies, I like hearing and feeling powerful sounds with my movies... thanks again for all the input
  17. Good to know about the Forte 2's... I think I definately want to go with the pre/pro setup... I am keeping an eye out for some rf-7's, does it matter if its rf-7 II or rf-7, I would assume either is great rf-7 being a better deal since its the older of the 2...... It was suggested to look at emotiva or outlaw amps/processors, does anyone have any suggestions which models to keep an eye on or what seems to be getting the best deals?.... Thanks for all your input....
  18. thanks for the input, I will keep my eyes open on all the places, found a local guy selling forte 2's for $600 but don't know if thats exactly what I'm after, I would definately be open to going the processor route with amps, need to research it as I'm completely green when it comes to amps etc. I only found a pair of rf-63's for 999 so maybe that deal was already sold on audiogon. I would love to be able to hear a vintage setup in person, maybe I can youtube it or something.... thanks again!
  19. I think I saw it... If I were to go vintage, what do I do for my surrounds, and for that matter , what do I need to look for first, price ranges I should be buying in.... Thanks for your input
  20. Thanks for all the responses so far...... I want Large size speakers... I don't mind the idea of going Heritage but I wouldn't know how the sounds quality would be in comparison to the modern lines.... If I had to choose right now, I would go with the Reference line..... thanks again
  21. Thanks for responding Audio Android. I basically really want a 7.2 to 9.2 system with the most power and quality i can get for up to that 6k mark. I've been reading a whole bunch on the tech side of sound and setup for home theatre. I think that 7.2 or 9.2 for that size of space will more than adequately fullfil my wants and desires. I can always add a couple of subs like you said with splitters. So I guess the next question really is, what is the best bang for the buck, I'm not hell bent on getting the latest and greatest but If i can get close to the sound quality out of 2k than i can for 5k , then thats the route i'm going to go.... So are Reference 2 system to maybe refererence 3 systems better than lets say going to best buy and spending 2000 on their best icon system? The difference in price is about 800 to 1k.... or would it be better than buying a ref 3 over a ref 4 and save 1k that way? or ref 2 compared to ref 4 ?
  22. My theatre/sports room is roughhly the size of a 20x20 room, the shape of the room is like a top hat, upstairs with 7" high ceiling on all but 1 side of the room where it is beveled in 4foot angle up to 7foot over 4 ft. I want the right system and have no clue where to start. I've read about 5.4 systems 7.2 systems 7.4 systems. I wouldn't even know how to wire them up properly as I only see most AVR receivers with 2 ports for subs. Can buy this stuff overtime so looking to spend up to around 6k, doesn't all have to be brand new stuff, and where are good places to look for the best deals on prices.... Thanks ahead of time![]
