I currently have a pair of Klipschorns speakers connected to a Marantz PM8004 integrated amp. I have been wanting to switch over to a tube amp. I was given a recommendation of
The Quick Silver Audio Horn Mono amp. I don't know much about tube amps and was wondering if anyone has experience with this amp. I have a budget of around $2,500 for an amp
and space is my big problem. Please don't beat me up too bad I have a lot to learn. Thanks for your help!

Oh my, those are beautiful! Wish I had the spare change for those. Saving up for a pair of CM10's. Good luck with your sale!

Would love to have that McIntosh 6200 but I'm out in California!

Welcome to this Awesome forum Castledemonte, Nice to see another fellow Fresno Klipschoholic! Wish I could have taken those off you, but already
have a walnut pair. Greetings from Woodward Park!

Ugg! I have been wanting a pair of La Scalas with grills. Watching for a pair to come up here in Central Valley and now your nice set. Unfortunately I had an unexpected large truck repair. Sucks to be me! Chee-wawa! I would have taken a pair off your hands!

Very nice amp! This is the same amp I use in my two channel set-up! Love it! Good luck with your sale.

If I were closer to your location, I would take them in a heart beat. Little far from CA. to drive. I have a good project idea for them. Good luck with your sale.

Marantz Reference and McIntosh my favorites. Marantz PM8004 intergraded amp sounds very good with my K-horns.

I have been using a Marantz PM8004 integrated amp with my K-Horns and Heresy speakers as well as a pair of JBL L880 towers. These speakers are all on the bright side as you all know. This amp sounds very warm and seems to tame the brightness. I have a Teac DAC attached to it and running my iPod classic and even iPhone. I'm so surprised how good this sounds. Recently I decided to use my PM8004 as a Pre-amp and hook it up to a Marantz MM7025 power amp. The difference in sound was so amazing in a bad way. The sound was so clear and detailed and stereo separation was incredible. It was like listening to a completely different system. But now only very good recording sounded good everything else was harsh, bright and fatiguing on all speakers.
IPod/IPhone was unlistenable. I bought the amp used but in very good condition (looks new). I ended up switching back to just PM8004. Right away sounded warm and so good. I'll try the amp in another system may be needs time to break in?

Thank you for your response, much appreciated. alzinski I have a vintage Carver C-4000T pre-amp I could use until I can save up for a tube pre-amp. I could also
use the Marantz PM 8004 pre-amp out. The Carver has a voltage gain on it. Schu the VRD's are no longer for sale ugg! wish I could of scene those earlier.
We will continue looking at tube amps, see what I can find. Thanks!
