  1. I'm not a hardcore "lets see how loud it goes" guy. I'll drop the gain down and see what happens from there. Only problem is when I drop it down I lose the deep bass during explosions and what not. Maybe I should buy another
  2. Well that's why I'm thinking of moving it to the back. The entire front wall is taken from equipment and moving the sub out further in the front is a no go. I've got it set to 3/4 on the gain and a little under half on volume. From what I've read I should set the gain all the way and let the A/V receiver send the signal and having the gain up will allow the sub to produce the signals being sent to it? Am I reading this correct?
  3. Thanks guy! I was looking at going the other route but couldn't pass up the deal. As for the sub, I love it! Played the dark knight part when the joker blows up the hospital...sounds good but needs tweaking. And that's where I'm having an issue. It sounds really good, blends perfect with my towers but once you really crank it it over powers the entire room, any ideas? It's sitting in the front left corner of the room, and I'm wondering if moving it all the way to the back behind the couch would help any? Any suggestions from the pros?
  4. Well I ended up with the SW-112. Had a deal I couldn't pass up and boss lady got the rest so I actually didn't get the death look from her when I brought it home! Wish me luck, this thing is totally different than my old PDR-10 I've had for 10 years
  5. I was up that way not too long ago picking up a truck. My cousin lived in South Bend for about 10 years and just recently moved out to Nebraska. Would make random trips up there to ride quads
  6. Just for giggles, you have any recommendations on an SVS sub?
  7. The room is fairly large. 11 feet by 21 feet. I sit about 18 feet from the tv. I use more for HT and gaming. Little music and when I do play music it's very low anymore. I get the rare time when the house is empty and I'm cleaning to turn it up but mostly HT and gaming. I like the subsonic bass but I really like to just have an all around good sounding experience when I watch movies. I'd like to stay with a klipsch sub so all match. I know there is better subs out there but I'm at the point I want to see the same emblem on everything (why I don't know). Is there anther sub around 4-600 that klipsch produces that I would like better? I really dont want the rw-12d just for the fact its discontiuned and have no way of hearing it. The SW-115 is too big and I don't feel like the SW-110 would do what I want. I NEED HELP! lol
  8. Ok I posted a few weeks ago about needing a sub, I'm down to these 2. I can't listen to an SW-450 in best buy and get a good feel for it but went to a local klipsch dealer today and listened to both the 110 and 112. Both sounded great and the 110 had a little better response but the 112 I believe would be the better buy considering the size if room. I'm looking at around 450 for the 110 and 550 for the 112. I can pick up the SW-450 for around 350 but I'm still worried about it not being what I expect since I can't listen to it in an actually room. Even the BB magnolia won't move one for me. Seems like bad customer service or just lazy salesmen. Any who, any ideas on which way to go and anybody have any experience with these subs? Thanks in advance!
  9. I think it's because I screamed like a girl when his mommy decided to try and use them as candle holders. Didn't fly lol On another note, KB-15's are on sale for $99 if you're still thinking of going that way
  10. I would but I have a little one that has sticky fingers still. Working on my second grill on the center speaker already that's why it's tucked back how it is. First week when it was pushed out he was all over it yet he never touches the towers?
  11. I can't really comment on anything but Yamaha. That's all I've ever own (excluding a kenwood I had years ago). I've always like the user friendly options of Yamaha so I stayed with them. I think receivers are a lot of user related weather they like then or not. Same as speakers. If you look at a Yamaha I could prolly give some recommendations though. I'm sure somebody here can chime in on the one you're looking at
  12. I'm actually running long ways in my living room. In about 16-18 feet from the tv. I only use 5.1. A friend has his 7.1 set up and I really couldn't hear much difference. I'm not saying for sure if he has his settings correct or anything but it don't seem like most movies are on 7.1. I see a lot of 5.1 myself
  13. Sorry the pic quality isn't good. Using my cell. The other one looks the same. Just darker corner so the pic is horrible
  14. The 15's didn't do it for me. They seemed really directional and im using mine for HT more so I took them back and got the 14's. really enjoy them! They're never used for music or anything. I do use them for gaming. They really helped in "surrounding" myself in the movies I watch. If you're listening to music a lot I'd lean more towards the 15's though. I was forced to put mine behind vs the side due to the kitchen area but they still sound great.
  15. I have surrounds but didn't have a pic of them. Ill take a pic when I get home. I have a set of KS-14's mounted on the wall
  16. Wish I could, I'd hate to see what you even want for that beast! Jealous, yes! Unfortantly wifey has me on a leash as she wants a new privacy fence for our backyard (2 city lots) and it won't be cheap
  17. I only have the harmony 650. Basic as they get, but it works great for what I use it for. Had the option to get the one and passed, the 650 works for what I need it to
  18. Nice! Soon as I find out how to upload a pic ill throw mine out there as well, looks good
  19. Not sure. I'm still really new to the forum as well! Once you figure out how let me know, I'll post my icon setup as well
  20. I'm located in Gas City Indiana. 450-550 was what I was expecting to spend. What's every bodies take on subs? Front or down firing? Having the semi-large room the long room has to have a better option of one or the other, right?
  21. Exact measurements are 11 1/2 ft wide by 21 1/2 ft long. Obiviously I sitting long ways. The sub currently sits in the front left corner bit I also have a 4-5 ft space in the back behind the sofa where I was considering putting the sub I have. Money is tight. After buying everything in about 2 months time the boss (wife) isn't to thrilled to begin with. That's why I was thinking the 450 as well. I'm not much of a music listener unless I'm cleaning around the house but even then it's not very loud. More HT then anything
  22. I'm not a newbie when it comes to home theater but I am when it comes to klipsch. Love my system but I'm lacking in the sub side. I currently have the icon series. KF-28's and the KC-25 for the front and a KS-14's for surrounds. My room is 11X21 and I currently have a PDR-10 that just isn't giving me that "holy crap" feel during explosions and intense movie moments. My sitting spot is about 16 feet from the front with the rears mounted behind me. I'm currently looking at the SW-450 due to how impressed with klipsch I've been. I was wondering if this would would be a good fit or is there something else I should look at? My floors are hardwood so I don't know if that helps or hurts a down firing sub. Looks like from what I've read it's a 50/50 with sub types. Any help would be awesome! And thanks in advance, glad I found this forum! Helped me understand so much already
  23. I wish you knew where I could see it. I read the cones were paper too so I decided to stay away from them but I wasn't pleased with the KB-15's enough. I took my super bright LED light in the best buy and shined it in the speaker. They look just like the rest of the icon series from what I could tell. I have no desire to take the grills off but now it's got me wondering as well. Either way, I really enjoy mine. I have a similar setup. KF-28's in the front, KC-25 for center, and the KS-14's for surrounds. Still sporting the PDR-10 sub though. Had it forever and this year sometime it'll get replaced with a SW-450. Good luck with your setup! Love to see the finished product
  24. I purchased a pair of KB-15's first and wasn't very in to them. Great for music and all but didn't really "fill the room" for surround sound. Took them back and got the KS-14's and love them. Really helped out the spots of movies I was lacking and also helps hide the direction of the sound source as well. But this is just me, I use mine more for movies and less music 50% movies 40% gaming 10% music
