Ok...spent a greater part of the day setting the B&W's up in my viewing/listening room . I was not anticipating such a dramatic difference in sound as compared to the Klipsch!! The B&W's are a little too laid back and casual for my palate, lacking that Klipsch forward clarity and crispness that i have come to enjoy. Have to say that it was an immediate dislike...... until i placed the two front xt4's them in my living room (no wife factor) where I was able to space them out a little more giving them a little more breathing room and sound stage (vaulted ceiling). They seemed to open up a little bit more on the high end and not sound so muddy in the low range. I think the were just too much speaker for the size of my listening room but are well suited for the more open area of my living room. None the less....Klipsch sound still reigns supreme to my aging ears. My Klipsch seem to engage me in the music while the B&W's lull me.......and that's ok....

Johnny, thanks for your input...I have a Denon avr 1712 as well as Dared monoblocks at my disposal...thats one thing i do love about my Klipsch...easy to power.

Thanks for your response....but looking for more of more of an objective opinion....is this a good price? discriminating differences between these two sets of speakers (tonality, speaker characteristics etc), is this a move up in the audio chain or a move lateral.

Long story short....my friend is making way for his new HT system...being that he owes me a couple of favors he is willing to part with his Bowers and Wilkins 5.1( Xt4 for fronts, xt2 for rears xt center, and a sunfire junior sub), all for a grand. This would be replacing my Klipsch rvx 42 5.1 system. Assuming this is too good of a deal to pass up? Certainly a move up and not laterally? I have never owed speakers outside of these Klipsch, which i really enjoy every thing about them even though they are not top of the line... thoughts and opinions appreciated.... Thanks, John

dtel, That was exactly my plan!!! Was going to pull out an old tube pre amp and put that in the mix....put in a speak switch for the fronts and share the mains. Any problems with hooking up a sub though?

I have a very modest HT set up....Denon avr 1712, Oppo 970, PS3 for blu ray and media streaming , Technics Sl-5 turntable and Klipsch rvx -42 5.1 speakers. Although my viewing/listening room is very small (approximately 14 x10) it is acoustically treated. My Klipsch does an excellent job in the home theatre arena but seem to lack a little luster in the music department (not as musical). I have the opportunity to get a pair of Dared monoblocks for a very respectable price. Do you thing with my existing equipment and listening environment that the monoblocks would make a significant improvement in overall musical quality? Thanks in advance.

I pulled the trigger on the Klipsch wf 35 when they went on sale at Newegg........Set them up and ran the Audyssey mic.....it set the crossover at 60 for the R and L and 40 for the center. Does that seem right? The small surround satellites were set at 100 which seems right and the sub seemed to measure ok....thoughts?

Bill, Thanks for the input!! I can get the rvx 54 for $550 for both the pair or the rvx 42 for around $300.00 for R L and C.......I hate to go with the 42's only to have buyers remorse considering I will have the speakers for years to come....but with the rvx 54 I have a center speaker to consider.....I dont think my quintet iii center will tow the line... LOL ...thinking I just need a push!! Thanks again! John

Well..... I think I am ready to retire my Klipsch Quintet iii and reward myself with an upgrade (either the Klipsch rvx 54 or rvx 42). My dedicated listening /viewing room is app. 12 x 10. I am NOT looking for more volume....rather looking for more detail and definition in music (jazz , classical, instrumental) and movies (action and drama) I do not enjoy loud music...just looking for better sound at the same listening level that enjoy now...if that makes any sense. Would I be going in the right direction with my thinking? Comments and suggestions appreciated. Thanks for your help!

Bill Thanks for your input....I have been bitten by the Klipsch bug and never looked back!! If i do pull the trigger on this package would you recommend using the quintet iii center speaker over the slx 7? Thanks!!

I am currently enjoying my Klipsch quintet iii in my modest (12x9) dedicated home theatre/listening room. I have the opportunity to upgrade my L and R speakers with Klipsch rvx 42 and a slx-07 as a center speaker ....all for around $350.00. Question is this a significant upgrade or just a small incremental move not justifying the investment. Opinions and suggestions appreciated!! Thanks!
