  1. pic of 1958 wood/fiberglass mid horn and vertical mount twetter. The t35 tweeter works much better mounted vertical as EV designed it this way.check the ID tage with white background ,I like this tage the best of all that were used.
  2. My 58,59 khorns have the big wood fiberglass mid horn K-5-j sound sweet and warm in my studio. Jim

  4. I am use a stock 58 decorater stlye (raw plywood with exposed horns).I love the way the mid horn sounds look compared to the late ones. I also have a 2 59 stle c with top and side covers. that sound the same. I think the horns look rel cool with the top off. The older speaker were or top quillity. Jim
  5. I bought the 5 klipsch speaker system on ebay that had the model H serial no *142. The speaker is 100% stock with orig drivers---ev sp12b woofer universithy SAHF mid and EV t35. The speakers all had klipsch stickers added that say kortho drive sytem. I compared the h to a late 60,s one and the high end is a lot louder with weak bass. this is to match the k horn high end.The mid and tweeter horns are mounted verticaly. I will post some pics of all the speakers (inside and out ) when I have the Time The early papers ( real cool with lots of pics and other rare klipsch speakers) came with the speakers)show klipsch three way system with H in center Khorn in one corner and short horn in the other. It says that all the horns are matched for true 3 channel sound and adding a secound k horn (in place of short horn )make no diff. in sound. I set up the khorn, short and h and boy they do sound real good together. All the mids and highs are well matched in vol and tone. It also came with a 59 cornwall that I think was added later and that sound un real.real nice and warm bass and sweet mids. The corwall also has a port for corner use and I swear it goes lower than the khorn.
  6. Forgot to say the Electrovoice horn goes down to 18hz and is about 1/3rd bigger. which in a corn dos'nt really take up that much more room. Id love to find a pair and then i would use my khorns as rears
  7. Electrovoice made a 18" SUPER KHORN in the 50,s I think it was call a particion(sPELLING?). This klipsch licenced horn system is consered my many to be one of the finist speakers aver made. I have seen a few on ebay go for big bucks.
  8. Hi, I have a few old Electro voice t35b and t35(made for klipsch) tweeters. Anyone know what th diffrence are? I have some with plated horns and white backs and others with brown backs with plated horns and some with gray backs. Some have Klipsch K-ortho sickers next two the ev plates. I think the ones with the b came out of some early electrovoice speakers .
  9. Yes they are the set that was on ebay from Prescott Arizona.Cost almost as much to buy as to ship.Paid 600.00 to ship to boston.they came in the biggest box I have ever seen about the size of a staion wagon.I had them delivered to a local store with a loading dock. Yes the Corwall has a rear port for corner use and vertical mounted horns to the right side. The 15 is to the left side on the botom not centered.the corwall is in ecxcellnt condition.as are the rest. After looking at all the papers that came with the I will try putting some pics up after Christmass
  10. hi all, The 4 1959 klipsh speakers I won on ebay arives this week. They all look total stock (I took the backs off to see the speakes, they all trested fine. I already have a nioce pair of 59/58 khoens in my living room and a pair of late 60,s Hearsy in my computer/music room. I thought I might use the corwall for a center with the Khorns and the Hearsy as center with the other Hearsy's I have. not sure what to do with the Short horn. But it does have the same drivers and (removable) frount tv style panel as the corwall. Hmm Maybe I can use it woth the corwall in a thirsd sytem? Does anyone out use a early corwall or hearsy in a sytem. I did notice that the corwall has a rear port for corner use. The speakers came with some real cool late 50,s to 60 paper that show some early Klipsch stereo setups. They show adding a speaker(or two)to mono. They recomend adding a hersy ,cornwall or shorthorns to a Khorn for stereo and using a herasy/corwall as center. I was just wondering about modifaction . Jim
  11. My khorns right know are... 58 style D in orig raw fir plywood orig drivers this style came with out top and side covers .I love the look with the horns and xover to look at. 59 style C in black painted fir with top and side covers orig drivers. This looks the same as the 58 wheb I remove tho top and side covers ecept some one painted it black.I can't decide should I strip back to raw fir or paint the other to match. Jim
  12. well I just won the 4 vintage klipsch speakers. I plan to use the corwall as a center with my 58 and 59 khorns. The hersey I will use as center with my two late sixty heseys. might usse the khorn as a sub with them. Not sure what to use the shorthorn with, maybe I could pair it up with the corwall and as they look good together.I think they night use the sam drivers.
