I have been using my Yamaha CX-800U/MX 800 PRE AMP/AMP COMBO for 25 years to power my K-Horns. I do have a "trained ear" so to speak, as I am a musician and sound Tech. The Yamaha still sounds clean, punchy and fairly warm..BUT..I am well aware that there are many BETTER options for my K-Horns. WITHOUT totally breaking the bank..Any suggestions?? I need the high power for "headroom" so the bass and Kick drum will kick my Butt while remaining distortion free. BTW: I WOULD LOVE A TUBE AMP! Thank you for your opinions[Y]

I have been using a YAMAHA MX-800 PRE AMP/POWER AMP on my K-Horns for over 20 years..This combo is warm, clear and very punchy. I am pro Bass Player, so I demand a very clean punch..You can pick up a MX 800 for under $500..Which AMP for $1,000 or less do you think will blow away theYamaha/K-Horn combo and still be dependable year after year as mine has been???[^o)] Thank you for all opinions[Y]

Correct: Power is Power! But, you need "headroom" to make the speakers Kick ***[^o)] The more clean power you have on reserve so to speak, the more Deep Bass Punch you will obtain..and thats a fact[H] -
