I agree Genysis wasn't that great. However, the audio was fantastic. I thought I heard some clipping here and there, specifically in the center channel. But, it still sounded fantastic. The clipping wasn't Godzilla bad.

Sounds like a plan.
I think that'd be fun also. Probably right in that it'd be best to plan something for after New Year's. Mr. Due, you're certainly welcome to join...maybe we can crank the Epic's up a little bit.
Yeah. It would be nice to try and work a plan to meet. I'm more than willing to drive on up! I know we're entering the crazy season, so if next year works better???Funny how this forum has become a part of my life. I literally drove to Minnesota and have met kapsnb01. And then Rowan611 has totally been to my theater and heard all my gear. And you guys live only a few hours from each other and have never met lol. This is such a great hobby. It has made me a lot of friends over the last couple years.
Did watch Empire last night. Didn't mind the new scenes in it. Actually, didn't look like there were any new scenes different from the 2004 DVDs. Although its been years since I've watched those versions. Return tonight. Excited.

Watched Episode IV last night. Well, the changes weren't awful in this one - except Greedo shooting first and not Han. That still doesn't sit well with me. I think a few scenes are unnecessary and don't add anything to the movie, but don't detract nfrom it either. I will say I've never seen it look so good or sound so good. Nice lower end, very full sounding. Empire is up tonight. I'm really rather enjoying myself with these; having watched the original versions of IV, V, VI just a few months ago.

PSA makes nice stuff. Enjoy it, then buy another -

I'll see tonight. Changing Han Solo shooting first is one of my biggest complaints of the "changes" in ANH. I just think he should have left them alone. They were brilliant the way they were. It just annoys me is all.
On IV-VI. It just wasn't that big of a deal. Maybe you'll feel differently but it didn't amount to much for me.
For Episode IV or all of them?
In my experience the changes really weren't that big of a deal.Watched Episode III last night. The best out of three newest. Tonight I'll watch A New Hope. Excited to see how it looks and sounds compared to the DVD version, worried about all the changes.

Watched SW E2 last night. Also have the Target steelbook of Genisys, maybe I'll watch that this morning while my son is at preschool. Being sick with strep has its advantages - my wife this morning said "whatever you do while he's at school should be in front of the TV." Sweet!!

Can't beat that reason [emoji3]
I know it's not needed but I already had two of these amps handy. They're working out very well. That's a lot of power for a THT.

So, did you like the first Jurassic Park? Because, it was just as ridiculous as World. Just saying. Everyone has their own opinion; I'm just curious if you liked the original.
Anyway, enough about dinosaurs. I got the new SW steelbook yesterday (thanks Amazon). This is the first time I've bought them on BD. I own multiple copies on VHS, and DVD. However, I always hesitated to buy them on BD. A lot of it has to do with the fact I don't care for all the changes GL made to the original 3 (although, I plan on going into them with as much of an open mind as I can), and the other reason is I just never cared for Episodes 1-3. With that said, I couldn't resist the SW steelbooks. I love steelbooks, and I've rebought plenty of movies just for their Steelbook case. Sad, right?
I plan on watching them all in order. Because, why not? So, last night I watched The Phantom Menance. I will admit I stood in line for this movie, me and 3 other friends. We rotated shifts based on our classes. Yes, I'm a SW nerd. Not the type to dress up like a Jedi, but a nerd no less. And then I ended up wishing I'd just waited a few days, because I really didn't like it. Not even a little. I hate Jar Jar Binks, and I hate the fact that GL only put him in there because of his kids. And after watching it last night for the first time in almost 15 years, I still don't like it. In fact, I think I like it even less. But, I will say that it looked and sounded better than it ever has. There were a few shots that were a little soft, or had a strange look to them. Don't know if that's due to the original film or what. I'm not a video expert. But, it looks a thousand times better than the dvd version.
Attack of the Clones is on the watch list tonight, I do remember liking that more the E1.

Watched Pixels. Typical Sandler movie, I'll be re renting it in a few weeks for anther viewing at a friends house. I'll be watching The Fifth Element Sony Supreme tonight. Also got Leon to watch.

Lol; Deadwood is the only show I've ever watched where I've actually been a little offended by the language. I can watch Dexter or Sopranos and be less offended. After HBO's Deadwood (2004-2006)... nothing has too many F-bombs.
They were present, but certainly not unlike many other R rated movies with similar content.

Just finished San Andreas. Not a great story, but man did it sound awesome. Anyone with a decent Atmos system should really enjoy it, lots and lots of surround information on this track.

That was a great level.I bought me an Xbox One and my brother a PS4.
Prefer the Xbox over the PS in almost every measurable way. Microsoft also helps me pay the bills so I might be a little biased:)
I still have this one:
Time to bust out some 'Rockets on Boarding Action'...

Have a PS4 and I love it. It's superior to the PS3 in a lot of ways and inferior in other. I'm guessing the backwards compatibility issue will be fixed in an update - similar to what Microsoft is doing. I guess my question is why does it need to play CDs? When the PS3 launched CDs were still everywhere, now they're just not as widely used. It's less programing that has to be done. I just don't think it's that big of an issue, personally. Never played CDs in my PS3 either....

Use a Harmony 700 upstairs, don't use anything in the theater.

i could do in ceiling at some point, but not now. My biggest issue with in ceiling is you can't do anything else with them if you decide to move or change your setup. My preference has always been flexibility, in ceiling prevents this.

Based on all of Jay's previous posts regarding passive filtering, directivity and frequency response (just to name a few aspects)... I doubt a proper or effective DIY Dolby Atmos Enabled Speaker that meets with Dolby's spec is on the immediate horizon. If I was in the need for new towers, I wouldn't hesitate to grab the 280FA's. Switching gears, I would install in-ceiling speakers before an attempt to create a DIY project, that may or may not be effective (since I would be guessing at Dobly's required spec). In-ceiling would be both effective & a cost effective route.
Maybe. But I'm sure that's been said about DIY before. I won't be buying new towers again, my next set of anything new will be all DIY. I won't go Atmos until a DIY solution is available.
The last Blu-ray you watched.
