Mustang had several CDs on his list (in this thread). When I did the quote, I was trying not to put that whole list up again. My bad.

Don’t worry mate - we will give you a hall pass on that one

Music is the winner every time 🤘

So here's my second purchase of the month: Miles Davis A Tribute To Jack Johnson, it's a 2020 reissue on Columbia Records

    https://www.discogs.com/fr/release/15312...ck-Johnson

This is the version with the famous photo of Davis Gahr on the front and the illustration of Jack Johnson in a car on the back, the one that should have been released originally according to Miles Davis.

    https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Tribute_to_Jack_Johnson

The first version released by "error" by Columbia (according to Miles): Jack Johnson (original soundtrack recording) - Miles Davis
    https://www.discogs.com/fr/release/19143...-Recording

And the second version, still in 1971, still at Columbia: Miles Davis – A Tribute To Jack Johnson
    https://www.discogs.com/fr/release/33398...ck-Johnson

If I have one regret, it's that on my 2020 version, there is no longer the text written by Miles Davis himself on the right of the photo!

As it happens, I saw that very LP in the vinyl section at London Drugs today.  That's the drugstore that sells Sony and Dual turntables and has a small demo room featuring mostly Klipsch Reference Series speakers.  Hopefully, Sixto's children will see a fair share of the profits earned by his record sales.

Also, I second the recommendation for Searching For Sugar Man.  It's the very interesting story about how a fan wondered what had happened to Sixto Rodriguez and followed every clue he could find, in order to learn what had happened to the performer that was a superstar in South Africa, but never learned about it and seemed to have disappeared.  It's a heartwarming story.

Do yourself a favour and buy that LP

@Full RangeDidn't you just get another deck? Maybe set that arm up with an Mono cart.

Do you have many Mono LPs?

I just remembered, you just swapped out the you front end. 🙄

I had to count the mono LPs in the collection

New and very old releases are a total of 37

Thanks Paul! Unfortunately Laser Discs were something of a niche-product in Europe and especially in Germany. There seem to be a few collectors now, but they won´t dish out the kind of money collectors do in the US or maybe Down-Under. Wish I was still in Japan, things are very different there...

Nothing stopping you from posting an advert on Japan or USA ebay

WOW Paul, what a great link!  Those are bringing big $$$ for sure :emotion-21:.

I had a bit of a search on the media and thought of how eBay actually started by one person not wanting or needing an item/object and another wanted that very thing

Me thinks that the same rules apply to Laser Discs (more for collectors)

I just saw the documentary about him last year.  Sugar Man was a big star, but never knew it, no thanks to the record company.  He seemed like such a mellow guy, with no hard feelings toward anyone.  At least he did get to do those big concerts in South Africa, so his children could see with their own eyes that their dad was a big star who could fill an arena with fans.

That one fan that sought him out, following up any clue he could find, did a wonderful thing.

He was very big in Australia and more so in South Africa

But yea when I saw the documentary myself it brought it home again

Very humble man that did not know that through his music contributed in bringing down apartheid
