  1. Chuck......How about Jubes powered by McIntosh and a nice Tandberg R2R?  Plus a $1500 music allowance per week and a beach house.  We will also throw in an F type Jag and a super model of your choice.

    Trade?

Now you're talkin'!! Just as I was waxing philosophical .............Damn!

  2. Mornin' all and Happy Post-Hump Day. Mark it on your calendars.

Finally bit the bullet yesterday and ordered Better Half a new wall oven in stainless, etc. to replace one that should be in a museum (which I'm pretty sure was planning on crapping out Thanksgiving day). She is delighted and can't wait. Told her if she's that pleased I would get her a new fancy shovel for Christmas to enhance her efficiency at yard work. After all ... good relationships are built upon meeting your partner's needs!! He, he.

Planning on playing some tunes today. Happy Thursday.

  3. My answer is 'yes.' It has taken every success I've had and every mistake I've made to have all of the gifts of life that I have today. Would not trade them for anything.

  4. Might be fun to have a dinner time challenge to our spouses/gf's to see how many of those words we could fit into a single sentence.

Women are such sensitive critters ... we might actually help them overcome some language hang ups, thus performing a valuable service. I'm pretty sure my better half would be eternally grateful.

    Happy Wednesday guys.

  5. Hey gang, mornin'.

Almost forgot about Bob Ross and the happy trees ... I'm no artist at all but I can sorta identify with any guy who paints with a putty knife. I have an understanding of putty knives.

Ceptorman ... looks like a good Halloween set-up. We do an annual Halloween gig and it's on Friday this year. Willl have granddaughter and her parents at the house on Saturday. I have been informed that under NO circumstances will I be allowed to wear my Halloween clown mask and cape or even have it in the same room as the kid. That tells me that my costume shopping is a big success.

    Tuesday cheers gang.

  6. There are no stupid questions imo and happy to respond. I generally agree with what has been said and would add a few subjective observations. We have an all-KLF home theater anchored with KLF-30's and a fairly high powered Marantz multi-channel power amp. Great stuff. Also have a separate 2 channel aud. io system with Cornwall III's.

To my ears, the Cornwall has a more 'refined' sound for music listening and I like it best for music. I think that is generally the case for the Heritage series of speakers. On the other hand, the KLF series, while fine for music, gives a huge kick and is best for home theater applications. Others may well disagree with me and my opinion is highly subjective. Ya gotta listen to both speakers and make up your own mind.

Best of luck in your adventure.

  7. Mornin' guys. Nice to see that everyone seems to be okay. Been off the grid here since Friday. Will have to catch up. This was the weekend of the 'disaster' movie. Saw San Andreas on the HT last night and Everest at the theater on Saturday. Million and one ways to get croaked.

JL ... nice shot ot the yard. You have some leaves to contend with, eh?

Gary ... nice pics as always and good lookin' TT.

Chuck .. hope the trip went well.

Talk at ya later and cheers to all.

  8. Happy Friday guys. Looks like relief from 2 days of rain. . Will need some sun for yard clean up this weekend.

Great creative work Mark and Luther. That's stuff I never would have thought of.

Chuck ... let us know how your excursion with LF goes ... sounds like fun. Poor Jake is stuck with a sitter ...he has been complaining to Baxter

    Enjoy your day, all.

  9. mornin' guys ...just checking in. More rain today but that's okay. We go through long dry spells and need to build up the reservoirs.

Luther ... have you looked into homeowners insurance as a possible resource for the foundation issues?

Ceptorman ... you have a perfect plan for spending your Thursday. Enjoy.

  10. Happy Wednesday all. Rainy chilly day out here ... not expected to go over 50. Warmer later in the week. Plan on doing some jammin' with a guitar bud this afternoon. Been a long time.

Welcome home Eldon!! It's always nice to get off the road. Spent most of my work life in travel jobs.

    Cheers, folks.

  11. And let's face it, most great jazz players blow horns, not cones.

Sent from my SM-T330NU using Tapatalk

Yup. And...I completely forgot to mention all the classic blues and jazz groups and recordings which incorporate the organ as one of the instruments. It's almost always a Hammond B-3 and almost always horn loaded Leslie. I hate even the idea of playing my B through anything else.

  12. There seems to be a 'pack' mentality among certain groups of 'audiophiles' in which one has to own certain brands of often very expensive cone speakers. One must also hate horn loaded speakers in order to be accepted. I particulary noticed this rather stupid mentality on another forum (which begins with the letter 'A' and ends with 'gon') a couple of years back. Nasty, nasty comments and debates.

I'm a musician too and have always valued a good horn loaded system as the closest to live music one can get. I've also heard some of the officially approved 'audiophile' cone speakers and consider most of them so laid back as to be muted and unacceptable to me, especially for the price.  There are exceptions, I'm sure, but why mess with it when a good Heritage system delivers the goods? That's just me and my taste.

I've sometimes wondered how many 'audiophile' horn haters would say that they like the sound of a classic Hammond organ on their rock, rock 'n roll or other pop music without relalizing it's coming through a mic'ed up Leslie tone cabinet which is ..... a horn loaded speaker. (Check out some early Santana).

  13. Mornin' gang. Been awol for a couple days. Bunch to catch up on. Weekend was good but busy. The fun part was Halloween shopping with Better Half Sunday morning. We do an annual event with a group of friends that calls for costumes, etc. Except for the cost, the shopping and event are actually fun.

Gary ... great pics, as always. Don't think I've ever even stepped foot in that state, but it looks great. Thanks.

Enjoy the day, guys, and cheers to all.

  14. Happy Friday morning gang. Cooling off out here but still pretty. Weather has been nice but very dry. Could use some rain. Love the idea of a New England fall tour one of these years. We get some fine colors in our mountains every fall, but mostly green and gold/yellow (from the Aspens). Lots of that going into New Mexico on our recent trip but it would be great to see different colors too.

Great pics Chuck. It's been many moons, but I still remember the pretty beaches of NC. Would like to see 'em again!

Enjoy the day and as always, Cheers.

  15. Afternoon folks. Tied up with paperwork crap this morning. Insurance and tax stuff .....yechh.

As far as the garage sale section is concerned, it's not a 'problem' that drive by's may come through but I'm a lot less likely to extend any measure of trust or confidence to one of them than I would to a forum member with some history.

Have a great rest of your day ...............

  16. Good grief ...what does age have to do with it if they can still play/sing? Speaking of the Stones, we just watched the Netflix documentary on Keith Richards and the old boy still seems to have 'it.' Assuming affordability (!), I would see the Stones again. On the country front we saw Ricky Skaggs this past summer and he was fabulous. Not many musicians in any genre are better.

Yeah, I'm in the old fart age range, but I do get tired of semi-talented kids and the media which promotes them. Given a choice 'll pay to see some old guys (or gals) who are still at or near the top of their games.

  17. Mornin' folks. Better Half is back to work today after a vacation week so I have to figure out some constructive activities. Yech. Maybe a nap.

More great photos guys. Keep it up Gary, JL and Luther.

Just fyi, we saw the new(er) Netflix documentary on Keith Richards last night. Well worth a view .... tons of R&R history and some vintage film.

Will try to check back in a bit. Monday Cheers!!

  18. Mornin' guys. Just getting caught up. Great pics, Gary and great rig, Wardsweb. I'm now officially jealous. Mark, great avitar.

Chuck, be careful of what you share on medical tests or these guys will make you the butt of their jokes!!

Had fun at 2 yr old Aubrey's B-Day party yesterday. Had it at a nice local park with pavilion and playground. She was far more into the kiddie slide than any present she got. What a kick.

Gotta run for now and get some grass cut, then pull some tax crap together. Peace and cheers folks.
