  1. I fall mostly on the music side and always have. I have good gear and enjoy accurate sound reproduction, but frankly don't care to debate the finer points and find myself getting bored with it in short order, with all due respect to some very fine and knowledgeable folks who see it differently. For what it's worth, I find myself playing a lot more music these days and listening less than I used to.

  2. Happy late morning (Mountain Time) guys. Another pretty day. Could be doing any number of projects but sitting on the patio with Baxter seems the best use of my time right now.

    Coffee pun Arrrr Arrrr Arrrrr.
Carl, how you bean? Bean meaning to ask.

Have a great Monday all and cheers.

  3. Hey folks... just checking in since I've been off for a day or two. Hope your weekend has been good. Laid back here. Met a group of friends for dinner last night and then proceeded to cheat on diet big time at Stone Cold.

Duder ... are those pics by Glamour Shots??

Later guys. Gotta get ready to cook.

  4. While there are certainly other choices as you can see from the responses you've gotten, the coice between CW's and the 7's would come down to your preference between the Heritage (CW) sound and Reference. Personally, for 2 ch listening, I go with Heritage every time. Probably not so for Home Theater. Very happy wth our CW III's in the 2 ch system.

  5. Mornin' guys. Missed ya yesterday. Beautiful weather and low humidity out this way. Weather guys must be trying to redeem themselves. ;)

Interesting new title to the thread along with the comments. Will let others decide. Just want to note that after many years sober, I'd stay out of the loop if the emphasis shifted to 'cocktails'.

Have a great day and cheers!

  6. I did a lot of taping back in the 70's and 80's on cassette, mostly off of vinyl and mostly to compile my favorites in one place. Most did not withstand the test of time (i.e., became crispy critters) but the sound quality was often excellent. Agree with Dave on that count.

  7. Mornin' all. Hope your weeked was good.

Carl, that's very professional looking work. Nice job!

Cleaned up some new-to-me old vinyl yesterday and really enjoyed it. (Spin Clean is a fairly cheap and effective tool). Ranged from Tanya Tucker to the Stones. Fun stuff. Finished the day with mesquite grilled ribeyes and a movie.

Will try to check back later. Cheers to ya'll.

  8. Happy Labor Day guys. Good weekend so far. Spent Saturday a few miles south in Coorado Springs and walked through Garden of the Gods. Had forgotten how amazing that is. Met up with friends afterwards. Laid back on Sunday and did some BBQ chicken thighs on the grill. I usually smoke chicken with pecan wood, but decided to grill it on direct heat. Forgot how good that can be with a little BBQ sauce if not overcooked. Quicker than smoking too, although that's my first love.

    Enjoy the day!!

  9. Mornin' guys ... just a brief drop-in today. We're heading down to Colorado Springs to meet up with some friends for the day. Went to the Rockies game last night and they actually resembled a MLB team. Great time.

Gary ...hope that wound is feeling better and healing. Organs can be quite dangerous. I remember almost falling off the organ bench one time. :P  But then I  used to drink a lot back in those days. :D

Have a safe and fun weekend everyone and, of course, cheers!!

  10. Mornin' guys. All is quiet on the homefront and should be an easy day. Baxter is crapped out on the sofa.

We do have some feebie tics to the Colorado Rockies game tonight and it will be fun to watch. Some day we might even get a real MLB team here.

Will try to check in later. Cheers to all.

  11. OMG! Secret "adult" sections of the forum. Good thing I don't qualify. My innocent mind could be warped.

More prayers for Jackson. Hang in there. I'm betting things will be looking up very soon.

Dave, congrats to your son. Very few achieve that much in scouting. It takes a special kid.

MKP ... my sympathies. It was somewhat similar with my mom. She made it to 89 and steadfastly refused to leave a home she could no longer maintain or take care of herself. At some point, outside help becomes a necessity.

Have a great Tuesday guys and cheers.

  12. Mornin' guys and thank you all for the prayers and kind words. Daughter in law is doing ok and will heal emotionally in time. On the other hand, my daughter is within days (hours?) of giving birth to our second grandson so there is much for which to be grateful.

    Blessings to each of you.

  13. Hey gang. Will have to catch up on 'likes' (esp the georgeous turntables) later. Much to attend to, incuding my daughter in law who had a miscarraige last night. It was an early one but pretty upsetting to her. Will check back later or maybe on Monday. Take care and have a good day all.
