  1. if the drivers on your Heresy mount from the back side of the baffle you have Heresy if they mount from the front side of the baffle you have Heresy ll. If you have have Heresy you might want to consider replacing the K77 tweeters with the Crites CT125 which drops right in no other changes required and it has smoother and wider response, a very good sounding tweeter. Here is a link scroll down second from the bottom.

Thanks Moray, I will check them out when I get a chance.

  2. Understood, never heard the Forte 2's, maybe the updated midrange would help. But it just seems my Forte's have a blanket over them compared to the Heresy.

I had the Forte IIs with the Crites upgrades and found that in a bigger room say larger than roughly 20 x 20 or so the Forte opened up and was exceptional. In a small room I found the Heresy to be more open and clear. Getting the Forte IIs off the wall the right amount helped a great deal so a small room just wasn't practical.
  3. Stump, welcome to the forum.

    a pair of 1979 Heresy's

My first pair of Heresies are from 78, my third is from 78.  These are some of my favorite Klipsch, and I could see how they would make great studio monitors.

Heresy on el84's won my heart

I run my Heresies on a Scott 222c which is a Quad EL84, and I love it.  Gothover recommend the Dynaco St-35, and I can see why.   I haven't heard them on a EL34 amp, but could  image they would sound great.

yep, I also have a pair of 79 Heresies with a Scott 222c (I have the EL84M's), rebuild by Craig. Need that subwoofer tho, I'm using an Energy S12.3 and it sounds fantastic.

  4. I have a single kg 2.5 free to anybody who wants it. It is in pretty bad shape... but it works. The cabinet has some water damage... I am using the other one as a center between 2 kg 4's. I forgot it was in my garage and it got wet. Also, the grill is busted and the black stain is coming off.

My zip code is 15108 (western PA), if anybody local wants it or just pay the shipping and it's yours.
