  1. Ninja, Based on your threatening message to Scrappy, it looks like ditching your account because of an upgrade, was truly an "upgrade." I hate it when people anonymously threaten others on a forum. It is just cowardly. You owe Scrappy an apology. Oh for f**k sake, it wasn't a "threat" get over yourselves. What a bunch of butt hurt pricks.
  2. And yet the upgrade was totally worth it. Not everyone has money to buy all new speakers, pal.
  3. Hey buddy! (old account was lost due to forum upgrade)
  4. ok let's play. What speaker is this out of? I'll just politely point out that, for the record, Scrappy doesn't believe this crossover could use any improvements.
  5. Ad hominem would be saying somebody doesn't know anything about crossovers because they blew up their lawnmower while trying to fix it, or cheated on their wife, not showing where you were asking very basic questions about them very recently. I'll concede you that point.
  6. "Open to criticism and suggestion" -Klipsch Community Now there's a fitting tag phrase.
  7. You know, I will say one thing, you guys can sure handle people that critic your company of choice. So warm and welcoming.
  8. um... you don't pick your own label, your given your label. to bad if you don't like it Every one of you lack a sense of humor or irony and take yourselves way too damn seriously. You're quite the lively bunch.
  9. Dude, your name is f**king hilarious!! whats funny about that? And why won't you answer me about what speaker that crossover is from? Because I find it funny, buddy boy. Why should I bother arguing? You want to defend a crossover that quite clearly could use some improvement. No thanks. no as a veteran I just wondered what you found funny about a his user name. And don't call me buddy. We aren't buddies.Find it real hard to believe you've been around here for 13 years and have a whopping 115 posts. Thanks for contributing JACK$HIT to this community. Got any spare fancy resistors I could buy from you? Maybe I can make my rf-42 sound like my palladiums before I sell them It's a new account, as I lost my old one. I'd say I contributed plenty. I can now help someone rebuild their RF-3 II crossover. You're just a lovely one, aren't ya, buddy boy?
  10. Wrong again. Another useless elitist silly spewing of nonsense ad-hominem attacks. Come on now, you can do better than that. Go ahead and disprove my points about crossover improvements. I'm still waiting.

  13. let me help you jai... it's a label. an all to appropriate one at that in this particular instance. I don't believe in labels. I'm like, so none conformist.
  14. Dude, your name is f**king hilarious!!
  15. This is all so funny, because I love (adore) Klipsch and I've been on these forums for 13 years. None of you actually know who I really am. But I'll stay, it's been fun. Just a tip, calling someone a "troll" is pretty meaningless and passe. It's akin to Fox News labeling someone a "terrorist" or "freedom haters" that they don't like.
  16. well then... can you at least bend over please! Finally! Lets get this party started!
  17. Nope, I'm sticking around. You especially, romanced me into staying.
  18. Hmmm, this reminds of something, oh yes! I'll just leave you with this. You guys would have been the ones to agree with Larry, and been proven total idiots. (This especially goes for you, Thad ) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbPuDq0hvKI
  19. "Strongly implied", with words like terrible, flimsy, etc. Remember when you were criticizing it because the port just didn't look big enough? I mean, make it taller and it should go lower right? https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/152435-a-few-new-reference-subs-for-your-booty/page-7#entry1837163 Oh I do indeed. These were critiques from a potential buyer. Nothing wrong with making observations and inquiring about them. Lest you forget it's predecessor the SW-115, had "terrible" bracing. Read up about it on AVSForum. My only point was that there really are much better options like from HSU, SVS, Reaction Audio, PSA, Rythmik, ect for about the same cost. This is objectively true, no matter what your personal bias is. And before you say it, If someone is buying it for the looks or size, fine, I've got zero problem with that. I was arguing about performance, not personal preference or aesthetics.
  20. better is purely subjective. Not even close. So far off the mark.
  21. .... i just... but, i... *sigh* ... All silly replies with zero knowledge or insight added. Thanks. You seem to lack basic reading comprehension. Earlier I posted precisely this... I once saw a guy have this same kind of conversation in regards to his silver banana plugs and some $250 wires. The rest of his system cost $200, total. So many people "want" to hear a huge difference after a mod that I have a hard time chalking it up to anything but a placebo on many of them. *frantically searching to make sure it's not me you're talking about* btw, this is a very relevant concern for me. Dean reworked my cornwall B2 networks about a year ago using the principle of battery biasing, basic parts-express caps, and the original 32yr old "everything else". They sound great and were indeed an improvement over the original aging networks. i should be receiving my all-new B2's from Dean soon.. Jupiter flat stack capacitors, wax impregnated 2.5mH coils and autotransformers (with a beefier chassis than stock), and everything else he does to make it a high quality build. he's worried it won't sound any better than what I've got in there already -- and I have to fight the impossible urge of allowing my financial bias and placebo to impact my listening impressions. I'm certain they won't sound bad, but will they sound miraculously better? i don't know, but you certainly won't see them up for sale any time soon. And as I look through names in this thread, a many of them have in fact either heard upgraded crossovers or ponied up for them in their own speakers. Right, which leads me to believe this is a "political" discussion, as oppose to one that's actually about the facts of crossovers. I think DeanG and Bob should just shut down. Have you yet informed them that their work is in vein?
  22. Okie dokie, so apparently Klipsch crossovers could not possibly sound any better. Truly amazing. I feel so silly for suggestioning they could possibly have done better on them. Doesn't get any better than this, ladies and gents. ^
  23. .... i just... but, i... *sigh* ... All silly replies with zero knowledge or insight added. Thanks.
  24. It's so funny, because the better parts and different crossover layout would not be hard to accomplish. I dare say no one would think they sounded "inferior" with these parts, cost really would not go up much, either. I am not suggesting massive caps that are $40 each, for Christ's sake. The difference is obvious. Some of you clearly need to hear upgraded crossovers in Klipsch speakers.
  25. I'd love it if someone could enlighten me on how much better the cheap ceramics are than Mills resistors, and also how good it is for the sound quality to cram all the parts as close together as possible. I'm also truly puzzled about the coils laying right next to each other being clearly better for the audio than standing one up and moving them further apart... Hmph, guess everything I read from crossover experts and the people I talked to at Parts Express are just full of it... Go figure. I guess this is all nonsense - Apparently placing them in a "problematic" fashion is a "good" design decision...
