  1. Mike, Gill & Keith, Thanks for the info. Sounds like finding the right connectors is the key - I had a brain void, thats why I asked for advice - think I'll save the "B" terminals for my old forward speakers and run them on our back porch. Can anyone tell me where to find 10 ga. stackable banana plugs for my amp and 10 ga. spades for the speaker terminals? 2. Deam, If Walmart carried Onkyo, would you shop there? What's wrong with it? Is Walmart below you standards? Bought Walmart stock over the last 12 years. Damn good investment. ------------------ A/VR- Yamaha 870 RF-3II RC-3II RS-3II KSW12 DVD Panasonic RP-56 Pioneer 5 Disc CD Echostar Sat Hitachi Ultravision 50"
  3. Mike, Thanks for the reply. Yes, I would be using both A & B terminals togehter. Just like having four forward speakers hooked up. Could either have the upper speaker terminals (left & right channels) run to the "A" posts and the lower speaker terminals run to the "B" posts ~or~ the entire left speaker run to the 4 "A" posts and the right speaker run to the 4 "B" posts. Any comments on a preference? Santa Does Exist!
  4. Re-cabling for my new RF-3II forward speakers with 10 ga. twisted cables. Cables are bi-wired to speaker terminals, hard wired no spades. But at my reciever, it will be difficult to hard wire two 10 ga. cables to one post. I do have "A" & "B" forward speaker terminals on my receiver (8 posts in all) and don't use the "B" side currently. What would be wrong with utizing the "A" posts on the receiver for the upper speaker terminals and the "B" posts the lower speaker terminals? In addition, am I better off making direct connections or using spades and/or bananas? The Rookie needs advice!
  5. PhilH, Thanks for the info. Should receive the speakers next week. Hope they meet my expectations. Later
  6. Figured I could find out faster here than e-mail to the dealer. Guess I should have thought about this sooner. Do the RS-3 II surrounds come with any type wall mounting kit? If not, has anyone found a good kit for side wall application? Later
  7. UsparcText Wish I could hear them side by side, but their not a full set of either in any store around. Going with the RF II's. Got a great price on-line. (Perrewe' is Belgian, my father was from Antwerp. I've never been but my sister has visited reletives there a few years back. She loved it.) I did look at your tweek job photo's. Nice work. Later
  8. Find yourself a used Yamaha RXV 870. Solid receiver with good power. A & B front speaker hooh ups. Great for two rooms or running four speakers. Has dolby suround, if not needed don't use it. Pre digital everything. Has plenty of component inputs. Blue book around $250.00. May have to pay more, I know I won't sell mine. I use the Yamy for outdoor entertainment and would never sell it. Great sound, made in the old days you know, heavy duty. Good luck
  9. Thanks for the info. Also looked on-line at reviews about ASD which revealed excellent ratings. So the order went in today. Mike replied promptly and assured me of my purchase. I'll post my purchase reviews once I receive the goods. Later
  10. acousticsounddesign.com has quoted me some Reference Series speakers way below any store front dealer. Their warranty policy states they will find a repair center near the buyer or if they can't locate one they will make the repairs themselves. Their address is in Las Vegas, so I called two store front Klipsch dealers in Las Vegas and they never heard of these guys. Where are they making warranty repairs in the garage? I would like to know if anyone has had dealings with these guys and if they can make OEM repairs. Wonder if I would be able to send a Klipsch speaker to an authoized repair center after buying from Acoustic Sound Design. Give me the news - good & bad
  11. What has changed from the RF-3 & RC-3 vs. the RF-3II & RC-3II? I can find both new, the non-II's at a better price.
  12. Yamaha RX-V870 Receiver equipped with a mono low pass out. I'm purchsing the following Klipsch speakers and would like to know the best set up: RS-3II surrounds RC-3II center KWS-12 sub RF-3II Tower or RB-3 Bookself? When I hook up the sub woofer, should I use the mono low pass output or run the main speaker lines in and out? Don't I loose the bass to the mains if I do the later? Obviously this is my first sub woofer! I suppose ones opinion may be different if I purchase the tower speakers vs. the bookself. Advise encouraged!
