  1. I see best buy has r-28f which seem to me to resemble the rf-82 series 1, im asking to compare these to series ones not rf-82ii...recently best buy had the r-f28 on sale for 225 each, good deal? Im wanting to run thses as my rears to go along with my rf-83 in front and rc-64
  2. best buy has the same ones listed at 449 each, i know they arent the cheapest option...but i do appreciate everyones feedback ;-)
  3. good deal? theres a guy selling them locally, has 5 pair...I looked these up online and they sell for $449 each plus tax

7.1 is fine for 2 subs. Just get a RCA "Y" splitter looking to get 2 rw12's.....yes? or go with 10's? No......great value but go bigger and better! Look at SVS, PSA, HSU, just to name a few...or DIY i have a chance to get 2 klipsch thx ultra subs and the amp for 2k....just hate dishing out that much right now bu hate to lose out on a deal while the thx subs are good i think there are better subs out there for sure. and its really not that great of a deal anyways. i sold my pair a while back for 1500 and they took a while to sell at that price. you asked about the bic pl-200. I've owned those as well and you can get them for crazy cheap. I've seen people getting them new for 220 a piece when bought a couple at a time. NOW, they are a lot of sub for that amount of money, HOWEVER, they are still a budget sub. so they don't go crazy low, and they are not gonna be the cleanest sounding sub ever. but for the money i don't think they can be beat. so if your budget is low, then have at em. you may love them and never want more. i have a buddy who bought my first rf-63 setup and he has a pair of them and just loves them. also look into outlaw audio subs. they are on clearance right now for black friday. think the ex at 599 might be one of the better deals right now. or get a pair of the 449 one. sorry not real familiar with their model numbers like i am with other companies. you sold your thx subs for 1500 with the amp, these are the thx ultra 2 and i havent seen them for under 1500 each plus the amp for 1000
  5. it just starting humming one day, I researched and it was said that sometimes the capacitors go bad or dry out and can cause this, so i just assumed maybe this was the case...is there a way of testing the caps to see if they are bad before replacing them?
  6. i put a ground loop isolator on them , it goes in between the receiver and sub one very similar to this http://www.radioshack.com/ground-loop-isolator/2700054.html#.VH4QGTHF91Q
  7. Added a what? What's a ground loop? Need to get rid of them not add them. i put a ground loop isolator on them , it goes in between the receiver and sub one very similar to this http://www.radioshack.com/ground-loop-isolator/2700054.html#.VH4QGTHF91Q
  8. ive tried several diff cables, im praying its not my receiver, id rather it be the sub since im looking to get new subs
  9. Very nice! I'd think that the BIC sub would be a weak link in your setup considering your other speakers. do you have a sub recommendation? i have a line on 2 ultra 2 thx subs with amp for 2,000 which is a great deal and thos are some beasts of a sub but hate dropping that much cash during holidays
  10. im in a basement , pretty wide open 25 x 50 is a close guess, i also have rf-83 for front, rf-82 for rear, rc-64 for center and rs10s surround
  11. it only humms when i turn on my receiver , i put a ground loop on it and its 90% effective
  12. I put a ground loop on it and it cut the humming down 90%, my question is i seen on threads to replace capacitors on the amp, are they referring to the amp on sub or on receiver?
  13. replace control caps on the receiver amp or the sub amp?
  14. anyone had any run ins with this sub? bic acoustech pl-200 according to reviews its a beast for the money and still impressive against higher dollar subs...

If the 805 is working, keep it and run it, it will give you more power than the 636,unless you are looking to do Atmos. The 636 if I'm not mistaken is only 90-100 watts per channel, and the 805 is probably about 130 watts per channel. The older receiver will give you more cleaner sound at higher levels and won't clip as quick as the 636. Your speakers again can be adjusted by going into the level side of the mic setup after it's done to adjust the output sound so it's louder and bass can thump more. Just make sure you adjust all the same amount and write down the levels before changing them. Those speakers are beasts, so once you cross them over, raise your levels and that will give you more pop in them. Also adjust the compression and go into the bass and treble settings as well. I also like a deep bass and crisp highs, so I was using the "light" setting on the compression with mine. so if i want to run 2 subs is it necessary to have a 7.2 receiver? or will i be fine with the 805

It's more towards the models over the past 5 years as they have issues with their HDMI Boards failing and continuing to fail even after fixing them. The issue was with the way they were made with cheap parts. I've had 3 in the past 2 years and all of them went bad, with 2 of them going bad after they were fixed. If the speakers sound a little low, try raising the "level" on them from the receiver to gain a little more "loudness" from them. If the receiver is working fine, don't fix what's broken. My personal preference is not to buy them again due to my issues, but that doesn't mean you will have them. The TX-NR 609,709,809,929,616,626 were a few models with the issue.Try moving your speakers around the room or pigeon toe them in so they come right at your ears with the tweeters, or just past your ears. i currently own the onkyo tx-sr805 and bought the tx-sr636 but yet to open it, i might return it, i bought it cuz it was on sale and in case i didnt find the deal i wanted on another receiver
