  1. Hey guys, instead of a complete Quintet system or Synergy system, what center channel and surrounds would be the best match for a set of Nuance bookshelf speakers with an 8" mid and silk done tweeter?? I was thinking maybe the SC.5 or 1, and for the surrounds, the .5's or 1's. Which would be the best??? ------------------ JVC 36" tv Technics DA-10 Reciever Klipsch KSW-10 sub Klipsch Quintets (On order) Hitachi DV-P415U dvd player
  2. Thanks for that URL justin!!! I knew Bose was **** all along, but that just reinforced my beliefs. That review told the exact situation that is going on at my local Brick dealer. The salesguy would only let me listen to this one shitty as song, and he wouldn't give me a reason why. When I tried playing with the controls to adjust bass, treble etc etc, he told me not to touch them. Correct me if I am wrong, but if you are looking to spend 1800+ canadian on a HT system, shouldn't you be able to mess with all the controls you want?? ------------------ JVC 36" tv Technics DA-10 Reciever Klipsch KSW-10 sub Klipsch Quintets (On order) Hitachi DV-P415U dvd player
  3. www.Omnimount.com, search for the SB-1's. Ithink they are the 53RST's that you need. ------------------ JVC 36" tv Technics DA-10 Reciever Klipsch KSW-10 sub Klipsch Quintets (On order) Hitachi DV-P415U dvd player
  4. Guys, thanks for the help!!! I finally found some nice wall mounting brackets for the System 6 fronts I want. ------------------ JVC 36" tv Technics DA-10 Reciever Klipsch KSW-10 sub Klipsch Quintets (On order) Hitachi DV-P415U dvd player
  5. I was thinking of upgrading to the KSW-12, but it was a 200 dollar difference, which seemed a little high. The owner of the Klipsch store here in Kelowna is a fmaily friend, so I'm getting cost +10%, which is really good. I have had the KSW-10 for about 2 weeks now, and I must say, it does put out respectable bass, much more than I was expecting from a 10" sub. The power of the KSW-12 is more of what I want, so I'll price it out again. ------------------ JVC 36" tv Technics DA-10 Reciever Klipsch KSW-10 sub Klipsch Quintets (On order) Hitachi DV-P415U dvd player
  6. Does anyone have any problems with the MP3's being cut off near the end of the track. I'm not too sure if it's the DVD player, or that new "NTI CD Maker" program I am using for burning. Anyone experience this?? ------------------ JVC 36" tv Technics DA-10 Reciever Klipsch KSW-10 sub Klipsch Quintets (On order) Hitachi DV-P415U dvd player
  7. Thanks Hagood, that helps me out alot!!!! Once I hear from my dealer, I am gonna go down there and price the 6's out, I am pretty sure they will be around $850, so that's not too bad. But there will be an added cost of the bracket mounts. ------------------ JVC 36" tv Technics DA-10 Reciever Klipsch KSW-10 sub Klipsch Quintets (On order) Hitachi DV-P415U dvd player
  8. Thanks for the help guys. I think I might just build some decent bookshelves or just get a pair of stands. What about mounting the SS.5's??? In the demo room they were mounted on the ceiling, and they sounded really good, so I was wondering how many ways I can mount them, without detracting from their output. ------------------ JVC 36" tv Technics DA-10 Reciever Klipsch KSW-10 sub Klipsch Quintets (On order) Hitachi DV-P415U dvd player
  9. I don't have any bookshelves available for mounting the SB-1's, so what could I easily build, or buy for cheap, to mount them. I was thinking maybe just a small shelve on the wall just big enough for the speaker, would that work?? ------------------ JVC 36" tv Technics DA-10 Reciever Klipsch KSW-10 sub Klipsch Quintets (On order) Hitachi DV-P415U dvd player
  10. Guys, I have the Quintets on order, even though I havn't even heard them yet. I was at a different Klipsch dealership than where I ordered them from and gave them a listen (my dealer didn't have the Quints or System 6 in stock to listen too)and I was very impressed with the sound coming out of the quints, despite their small size. The demo was done with Star Wars #1, and once a particular scene played through I listened to the System6, and the difference, especially in the mids, seemed substantial. Here are the +'s and -'s of the two systems for what I am looking for. Quintets: Pro's: Small size, swivel mounting pedestal, price ($500 Can.) Con's: Lacking some midbass, smaller sound. System6: Pro's: Big sound, small package, much more midbass, crisper sound. Con's: Price ($850-$950), no mounting hardware included. The pro's and con's seem to almost cancel each other out, so I'd like to hear from poeple who have either of these systems, and let me know your thoughts. I'd really like to go for the System6, but if they arn't needed, then why bother. My living room is 15 feet deep, and about 25 feet long. Thanks for any help guys!!! ------------------ JVC 36" tv Technics DA-10 Reciever Klipsch KSW-10 sub Klipsch Quintets (On order) Hitachi DV-P415U dvd player

  12. I have a KSW-10, and I love it when listening to MP3's, cd's, or even the radio. I must say that I was pretty impressed with it, I was expecting much less, but Klipsch proved me wrong. The bass outta the 10 is plenty enough for me and my living room, and it reminds me alot of my Eclipse 12" sub and 400 watt Eclipse amp in my car, that's a dam good thing. ------------------ JVC 36" tv Technics DA-10 Reciever Klipsch KSW-10 sub Klipsch Quintets (On order) Hitachi DV-P415U dvd player
  13. This knda hot seems abnormal. My old Technics (though no were near as powerful) ran cold all day long, so I guess this is a new thing to see for me. Are there any How-To website on the net for doing these kinda mods???? ------------------ JVC 36" tv Technics DA-10 Reciever Klipsch KSW-10 sub Klipsch Quintets (On order) Hitachi DV-P415U dvd player
  14. I finally got the MP3's to work. I had to get that NTI CD Maker 2000 program, and burned the cd's using the "Data cd" method. I guess this NTI program puts an M3U playlist in with the MP3's, and that is what makes it work. I only have an optical connection for audio going from the DVD to the amp, and audio is crystal clear, so not too sure why I would have to use the analog connections?? anyone else able to do what I did??? ------------------ JVC 36" tv Technics DA-10 Reciever Klipsch KSW-10 sub Klipsch Quintets (On order) Hitachi DV-P415U dvd player

  16. Right now I just have an optical cable going into my DA-10 amp, I can hook the analog up, but that shouldn't matter because I was playing a burnt cd (MP3's converted to CDA's in Nero) just fine with awsome udio quality. That M3U Playlist makes sense, I'll give that a try!! ------------------ JVC 36" tv Technics DA-10 Reciever Klipsch KSW-10 sub Klipsch Quintets (On order) Hitachi DV-P415U dvd player
  17. On the Hitachi website it doesn't mention anything about CD-r or CD-rw playback, but it does say that is has dual lazer's for CD-R's??? ------------------ JVC 36" tv Technics DA-10 Reciever Klipsch KSW-10 sub Klipsch Quintets (On order) Hitachi DV-P415U dvd player
  18. I would tell ya to audition one of these fine amps. We use Yamaha everything for our upstairs sound system (amp, cd player, reciever, tape deck etc etc) and Technics for the HTS downstairs. I love the Technics amps and have had nothing but good experiences with them. Not to say they don't have problems, but none that I have come across. ------------------ JVC 36" tv Technics DA-10 Reciever Klipsch KSW-10 sub Klipsch Quintets (On order) Hitachi DV-P415U dvd player
  19. Hey Guys. I just picked up a Hitachi DV-P415U dvd player. One of it's features is to playback MP3 audio, but I have yet to find how to do this. I put a cd-r that had 100+ Mp3's on it (burned as a data/ISO cd in Nero Burning Rom) but it failed to play. It is however able to play burnt cd's that had the Mp3's converted to CDA format, but that's nothing specail. So does anyone know how to get these MP3's to work???? ------------------ JVC 36" tv Technics DA-10 Reciever Klipsch KSW-10 sub Klipsch Quintets (On order) Hitachi DV-P415U dvd player
  20. Not to be biased or anything, but have you looked at the Technics SADA-10 amp?? High quality unit, for very little money. ------------------ JVC 36" tv Technics DA-10 Reciever Klipsch KSW-10 sub Klipsch Quintets (On order) Hitachi DV-P415U dvd player
  21. thank for the input BobG. I was told by a friend that the best way to do this is to place the sub in the main seating position, and then walk around the room finding where the bass seems to be at it's highest. Anyone tried this??? ------------------ JVC 36" tv Technics DA-10 Reciever Klipsch KSW-10 sub Klipsch Quintets (On order) Hitachi DV-P415U dvd player
  22. Hey guys, I just recently bought this amp based on all the good words I have heard about it, and the fact that I got it at such a good price ($400 can.). One problem is that is runs seriously hot, even when the amp isn't producing any audible sound. I have heard poeple say that you have to turn the "Noise Filtering" off, but I didn't see any mention of that in the manual (if this is referring to the VGCA, I don't have it on). The thing is that once the fan kicks in, it runs ice cold, but you have to be listening to music at a higher volume to turn the fan on. Has anyone modded the amp so the fan is always on, or simply added another fan?? How would I go about modifying the fan to always stay on with the amp on, or how to add a seperate fan that does the same. Sorry for making this so long, but I would greatly appreciate any help for making a great amp even better ------------------ JVC 36" tv Technics DA-10 Reciever Klipsch KSW-10 sub Klipsch Quintets (On order) DVD: to come
  23. I checked out the cost of upgrading and it's gonna be like an extra 180 bucks, which is kinda dissapointing. I'd go for it, but not much money left with it being x-mas. maybe I can take the sub back in a month, should be able to do that hey. The system in downstairs and on concrete floors with carpeting so the floors are sucking alot of bass up. ------------------ JVC 36" tv Technics DA-10 Reciever Klipsch KSW-10 sub Klipsch Quintets DVD/PS2 to come
  24. Bass is good, especially hard hitting bass. I think I might take the 10 back and get a 12. Any other opinions of this?? ------------------ JVC 36" tv Technics DA-10 Reciever Klipsch KSW-10 sub Klipsch Quintets DVD/PS2 to come
  25. I just bought a new HT system this last week, consisting of the items in my sig. I have had it for 4 days now and am really happy with how it sounds, but I am curious as to how much more "oomph" I would get if I took back the KSW-10 and upgraded to the KSW-12. The upgrade would cost me less than $100 bucks (canadian) so it's not bad. So help me out guys, how much of a difference will the 12" sub make, it has double the power and more displacement. I mainly use the system for watching TV and soon to be DVD's as well as PS2 and digital cable, and music only occasionally. The room is about 15x30 feet. Thanks for any help guys/girls. ------------------ JVC 36" tv Technics DA-10 Reciever Klipsch KSW-10 sub Klipsch Quintets DVD/PS2 to come
