  1. To my mind, applying what a person learns, to make a superior product, is what any Craft is all about.  I see there is still continuing envy, regarding Greg Roberts taking Hi-end audio by storm.  I for one, find his products to be outstanding, as do many of the people who used to dislike Horn loudspeakers.  I still assert that PWK would be tickled by what Greg is doing.  I am willing to bet, that PWK would have liked to be able to afford to this, and build this type of loudspeaker, using the truly best components available, and be able to make a profit, as Greg is.

  2. Good for you, Marvel.  Back in 2010, when I used to hang around here a bunch, you mentioned several times about doing just what you are doing at this moment.  I am very interested to see how you like the DJK mod.  From the information I have culled off this forum, and the net, it sounds like a slam dunk, never going back.  Waiting with baited breath.  :D

  3. DJK......thank you for the additional information.  After several years, I am getting around to modifying my Lascala's to the ported version.  I found your additional information just at the right time.  Thanks again.  :D

  4. Greg does nothing more than what most do here. Tweak the tried and true Klipsch designs. Heritage that is. His craftsmanship extending to his finishes are top notch. Don't diss this guy. He gives credit where it is due and does great work. I am just shocked, having a good friend from Maine, that he would move to Tennessee. The poor guy must be desperate. Tennessee? The fence straddle state. Last of the Confederacy. Most Americans can't find Tennessee on the map. Why? Maybe because as someone once said, there is no there there. Well, maybe there is if you are into country music. Or are Coytee, the number one fan in the Marie Osmond fan club.

Oh my God.  This is the most unrealistic, ignorant audio forum comment I have seen in some time.  Good gracious, someone needs a bit of humility........and, a bit of real experience with audio products other than Klipsch.

  5. Why on earth would anyone use a stock Klipsch compression driver when there are so many better drivers out there?

I use the BMS 4592nd mid driver, which I understand is relatively expensive, but the sound is light-years advance.  Oh yeah, but this is with a Volti Audio 260 Horn.  While I admire PWK's bass horns, his frugality shows in the mids and highs.  Just sayin'.
