  1. I have a KSW200 that has that problem once in a while. I'm guessing your using the high-pass, meaning your hooked up Amp => sub => left and right speakers. Check this out...with it on Auto, and off, push lightly on on of your Left or Right channel speakers cones. I'm assuming you know what you can't touch on those. On mine I can trigger the sub to go 'on', and think that moving the cones actually produces some electrical juice which turns on the sub. I have forced air HVAC and I think the air pressure moves the cones and turns on the sub.
  2. Hi aab3rd, Although right around the corner from Sound Visions, I had these when transplanted to the area a few years ago. Bought them from Bryn Mawr in Allentown, PA. I also bought a KSW200 which I've had problems with, thus, been to Sound Visions just recently. You may be interested to know they dropped the Klipsch lineup. Around two weeks ago, they were clearing what they had in stock out...
  3. Thanks, Do have an opinion on which horn is the better out of the two?
  4. Ignorantly bought a KLF-C7 thinking the timbre would match with my set of KG5.5's. The 5's are real bright and IMO have great top-end sound. The C7 is more smooth, although noticably less bright than the 5's. They're running on a Kenwood system. Does anyone know if: A: There is some cross-over tweak that can better match them up (assumption is the horns are similar)? B: Can I just get the same set of horns and install across all 3 speakers. Any x-over issues? The throat of the horns look similar, although the flange and bolt patterns and dimensions are different. Thanks, Tom

    KSW200 Hum

This is a bit more than the regular "hum busting" tricks I'm coming to believe. The Klipsch did in fact ship with a 3 to 2 plug, although that didn't resolve the issue in this case. The next possibility could have been shielding, like hot AC running parallel to the audio cables. Sometimes, you can cross them at 90 degree angles which minimizes tha magnetic interference. I disconnected all inputs and outputs (outside the box..regular connectors) and the hum remained, so I then went inside the box to check it further. What I mentioned above is that the hot ac was tie wrapped to the high-in audio cables. Those, I un- bundeled and separated. There is also another audio connect from the internal pre-amp waferboard to the main amp board (with the big heatsink). The hum also remained once I did that, so I'm assuming there's an issue somewhere on the main amp board. This is getting real technical, either a design flaw or bad module, etc on the amp, I think. Appreciate everyone's input on this..happy new year. Tom

    KSW200 Hum

I have the same problem with Hum, not ground loop, for a KSW200 that "Ohricky" had. (this forum http://216.37.9.58/ubb/Forum2/HTML/000292.html ) Did eventually take the amp out to check the wiring. Found out that the high-in was tie wrapped to the AC-in with no shielding, so did what was obvious and recommended as a fix by BobG in the above thread -- separating the power from the audio. This did not fix the hum. Also, disconnected the high-in from the pre-amp although the hum remained. Also looks like there's some wiring from the preamp to the amp with those wires tied together with power that lights up the LED. Is it worth-it to pull the whole thing apart to separate ALL power wiring from audio? Any other ideas on how to rid this sub of the hum. Tom
  7. Been using a KSW200 for about 4 years, mainly for music. Now setting up HT, the hum (which I usually ignored with music) is really apparent. Did all the typical hum checks, but it even hums with nothing connected. So did some more checking and found some posts about an internal amp problem..See thread http://www.audioreview.com/reviews/Subwoofer/product_7732.shtml Looking for any solutions..internal (to amp) wire shielding, filters, etc. how about amp replacement, CS? Like to stay with Klipsch, but I consider customer satisfaction a huge issue nowadays. T
