  1. That's at dc. That's a great deal.
  2. Many a child was born due to this happening. That's a good one!
  3. My set-up is based around the Atmos speaker placement of 7.4.4 (Using in-ceiling speakers). I want to make sure that I am approaching this properly with the height placement of the surrounds. From what I have read from the Dolby Atmos installation guide, " All listener speakers should be at the same height, typically 3.9 feet (1.2 meters), which is ear level for the average seated listener (as defined in ITURBS.1116-1). If possible, the height of the rear speakers should be the same as the height of the front speakers." Here's a diagram that I have made for visual reference. Does this seem to be correct?
  4. I have heard of some people using the spikes on hardwood floors, but I would tend to think it would damage the flooring. I don't have any hardwood in the basement, it's travertine tile and carpet.
  5. Randyh, Thanks for the direction. I really like the way the stands look in the video.
  6. Those look very good, thanks. I will research for the proper height and read all the reviews.
  7. Hi Willland, The primary usage is for HT for the Atmos setup. According to Dolby's height suggestion, it should be ear level. My concerns are two, the weight of the 81's and then the visual appeal of the stands is also very important.
  8. Hey Guys, Need your input/ advice on some visually appealing stands to accommodate the RB-81ii's for surrounds. Any ideas? 2 stands will be on carpet and the other 2 stands will be on tile flooring.
  9. She said I need a 12 step program for speakers! I said only if I can get it in 12.4!!
  10. I have taken the plunge and ordered (2) more SI 18's for a total of 4. My wife is gonna kill me, lol!
  11. Thanks guys for the direction, that sounds like a plan!
  12. I'm gonna go sealed otherwise the boxes would be the size of washing machines. Put a crap load of power and some dsp/eq. My next thought involves doing 2 more in the rear. Would it be better to have the amp located near the rear subs or run speaker wires from the front of the room over. If I do 2 in the rear I will more than likely use 2 amps, one for the front subs and one for the rear subs. Thoughts...
  13. Youthman, I have an extra onkyo mic. PM your address, Ill send it to you. uote name='Youthman' timestamp='1422124669' post='1830540'] Sure, she found one of the Audyssey mics and will be mailing it to me. Nevermind, lol 3 sheets thing again. I guess I she read the entire thread before offering.! Lol! Anyway great deal!
  14. LOL! That's what I was thinking. But hey, I'm basically 3 sheets to wind!!
  15. Hey Scrappydue, Seeing that you have this exact 18" subwoofer in sealed enclosures, if I read correctly at 4 cuft per subwoofer, would you build it any larger? Keeping it a sealed box design. The reason I'm asking is that I have my Trim Guy that is going to build the enclosures and I want to optimized the build and keep it in a sealed box. Thanks.
  16. 18's delivered today! Any thoughts on this type of box: https://www.parts-express.com/knock-down-mdf-40-cu-ft-subwoofer-cabinet-with-blank-baffle--300-7088
  17. That's a Realta Venturi by BIC, olden' days, 54" tall, 100lbs. My wife really wants to see those go bye-bye! Lol. I've had them for 20 years now. 4 surrounds(Side and rear) all rb-81ii. In the picture, the two speakers on top are rb-61ii's. I will probably use them as front height speakers.
  18. sWell, my plan is to have the rf-82ii's as the mains and the rb-81ii's as the center and surrounds.
  19. Some new additions recently acquired:
  20. It's in store pick up only. If you try to order online, that actually ships from their warehouse and the discounted pricing does not apply. You could put then in your online cart and check to make sure your store location has them and then click on on pick up at the store to create a order number. I would also follow up with a phone call to the store to insure that they actually have them.

  22. Would a RB-81ii work well as a center for my RF-82ii's? Thoughts?
