Seriously... who hasn't air drummed to a Rush song! I'm with Dave 1290. I saw the other drummers on the 'best of' list ahead of Peart and I will disagree till I die. He played two separate kits for years with an amazing syncopation to jazz beats. He did more on his kit than I have ever seen live or on film. (Disclaimer) I am such a fanboy.

  2. Rush is the only band that, once I saw them the first time, I saw them EVERY time they were near. And they were road warriors. So many times. In 1997, I took my young son to The Gorge in George, Wa for one, only his second rock show ever. We are mourning together. But we have that shared memory.

} Peart was also an avid motorcyclist, BMW GS Adventure bikes in particular. He and tour staffers would ride to tour destinations instead of buses, when time/distance allowed.

His book about 'finding' himself after his daughter died is a revealing read. He spent a long time cycling around North America in search of peace.

  5. My beloved Seahawks again spacing out at the one yard line. I watched soo closely after the super bowl fiasco to see if the Hawks could do it from the one. They struggled with delay penalties and illegal motions . I waited almost 3 years to see them get to first and goal on the one. It was brutal. They didn't learn, darnit. One hiccup loses a game like that.

See you in Philly! Go Hawks!

  6. My friend Bruce and I felt lucky to se B.B. in Portland , Or in 1980. We were so stoked to have tickets. At first we were a little nervous (I know there was no reason to be)

because from our seats we could see that we were the only 2 white guys there for the tunes. I am certain we were not but I was looking. That was my initial memory from then. Of course when B.B and Lucille took the stage it was all love. Dancing and feeling the groove. I was youngish and dumb then. But a major feather in my concert cap. Love the King.

  7. I received 9 emails from the seller and the trucking company while delivery was in progress. None of which had a delivery discription. And I called both several times in the days leading up to delivery. On hold with each for an average of 32 minutes. (I know. I have too much spare time!) And not ONE callback after leaving a message. But immediately after leaving my house, I received an electronic invoice from the deliverer stating I had 'Silver plus" delivery which included everything I was going to request from them. I would have liked to have known that in advance, I'm kind of an anxietous worrier over big budget items.  Especially after 9 correspondences. It's all good, tho. Maybe the holidays were overwhelming to the companies. Thanks everyone. And Merry Christmas!

  8. "Yep" they said, "we do it all the time". In less than 5 minutes they unboxed and set up the tv for the menu screen so I could check it out.

In the time it took for me to sign and date and all that they had boxed it back up for me! Nice. It's not ready for install yet. All is good.

  9. I am receiving a new tv today. This is a very late request. I'm in Wa state and it's been on the truck from New Jersey. I am usually ok with signing with an exterior look at the packaging but haven't ordered from the east coast. I want to open the carton and quickly plug in the power cord and see a menu screen so I can inspect.

Is that asking too much? It's a long way through inclement weather to get here and I don't want problems if it's not functioning correctly.  But delivery during Christmas and all...  Thanks.

  10. I was e-cycling a broken flat screen at Video Only yesterday and they have the 65" Samsung Q90 , their top o line 4k QLED for $1999. That also includes their aftermarket 4 year parts and labor warranty. Samsung factory warranty is 1 year.
