FYI : Updated tweeters and crossovers Updated crossovers without removing board. If anyone is interested I could provide more detail. Just random pictures here: https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/gallery/album/307-forte-i-x-over-replaced-inplace-on-a-forte-ii-board/ ping me at graham.poor@gmail.com They sound great... and the upgrade improved them. ...but with some others on hearing some harshness in the upper range, hope the crossover and tweeter upgrade would change that, but it didn't. The rest of my system is entry level maybe that is the issue. Onkyo 8050 and Apple TV. Still love the sound.

Upgrade Quartet Tweeters without upgrading crossover?
graham p replied to Grizzog's topic in Technical/Restorations
Thanks for the help! All good the new tweeter is in. Was being super cautious. BTW: I don't know what it is but nothing about these speakers seems 25 years old. The gasket was perfect and flexible. Here is the old tweeter. I would think something 25 years old would look older. Thanks! -
25 year old tweeters... or has there been an upgrade.

Upgrade Quartet Tweeters without upgrading crossover?

How do you remove the tweeter horn on the Forte I? Can you do it from the front? I undid the screws but couldn't pull it forward. Do you go in from the back? Have tweeters in hand to swap on my Forte I. I see instructions online once the horn is out but don't get how to remove the horn. -
Thanks so much! Can I ping you with more pics and questions when I get to re arranging the room? Probably 10 days or more from now. My wife has given me flexibility if "they aren't wires everywhere". Does lifting them off the ground improve sound? Risers I guess?
