I used about 2 gallons for 2 1/2 pair  (home/industrial version + extra bass bins) of La Scalas (3-4 coats each with the bigger roller). 1 gallon was more than enough for my pair of HIP-1 (5 coats with smaller roller), and I had plenty left over.

I've owned some of these speakers for years and I enjoy listening to them. Good luck with your sale Native guy. Pay no attention to the [de;eted] here that feel obligated to stick there noses in others business.

Those look like the T-500 but a bit more efficient per Klipsch specs.

At least when we had the specs...

 

 

They sound great, and I never even seen another pair of T-5000 before I bought these, so thats why I posted them on the "Alert" section.

 

The information I gathered was limited, but they are very efficient.

Hi all,

I'm looking for replacements for my forte ii passive subs (KD-15), as one has a tiny hole the other was ripped and got duck taped back together by original owner. The look just bugs me, so if any one has a pair they want to get rid or know where to find a DIY recone kit, send a link.

 

I only find active sub kits or surround kits. So, any help will be appreciated.

That is typically a 1 piece 3 way speaker. So that would have the bass bin built in. Is that what you're asking?

I though the LSI were suppose to be made with the HF and LF on the same terminal together.

Thanks everyone it took awhile, but I did it!!!

 

I used a long metal ruler and a wide metal scraper, then wedged a flat head in the middle to protect the veneer.The black rubber had fused to the back and had them stuck. 

 

The guy, I got them from said they use to hung upside down thats why the top is flipped, they are industrial versions with AL crossovers.

 I was thinking of sanding them and staining maybe a walnut. Re-veneering is also a possibility, but one edge in the back is slightly indented.

 

Im thinking about taking it to a carpentry shop to get that side replaced, don't know if its really smart to do myself.

 

I'm going to coat the outer bass bins with Duartex and paint the insides flat black over original texture.

 

They all work, so thats a plus

I just pick my first pair and 1/2 of La Scalas and wanted to remove the woofer to sand down the bass bin unit.

 

My question is how can I pry the lid off without messing up the veneer?

 

It feels very tight and stuck and I believe there must be a glue holding them together.

 

Also, what is a good wood putty that accepts stain well, any help would be appreciated.
