  1. Thanks, I have looked at this one, pretty interesting I agree! A little more than I was looking to spend but may have to do it!!
  2. Thanks Bill. I couldn't find any either but wanted to make sure before heading another direction. Appreciate the suggestion! Have a great Easter! Thanks again!
  3. Bill, did you have any suggestions? Thanks!
  4. Yes that is my hope, thanks
  5. I am more interested in have good sound for music VS TV. That Pioneer Elite still do it for me? I see a SC-LX501 for $500 that has preamp output and phono. Would that be along the lines you are suggesting, thanks!
  6. Yes, that is my hope! Thanks!
  7. Looking for ideas on an integrated amp that I can use to run 2 Klipshorns with a belle or lascalla mid plus a sub. Would like to have all the new wifi, bluetooth, phono, etc. plus be able to run an external power amp to the klipshorns through. Any such beast out there for under $1000? Thanks!
  8. Thanks! I will check it out!
  9. I appreciate all the great advise! I will do some research and see what I can find from all the suggestions. I really don't have a choice on the speaker locations. I can't really put them on the short wall. The room just isn't built right to do so, I am pretty much stuck with the current set up. If I can post a picture/video of the room I will do so and they you will see what I mean. Thanks! Right now I just have a 50" TV and am more interested in making sure the music is the best it can sound and then then movie experience. In response to Babadono yes, I have either a LaScala or a Belle for a center channel and it is adjustable. I also have just worked on the cabinet and replaced the fabric, nothing touch internally yet. I believe everything still works, just looking at what to replace if needed to bring the best sound out that I can. Thanks, I'll be back with more.
  10. Sorry, room is 30' wide by 22' deep. Klipshorns are in the corners on the wide wall.
  11. I currently am running it all through an old Kenwood KR V7080 receiver. Don't like the sound of the Klipschorns I bought recently and just finished refurbishing. They are 1986 speakers and may need a little updating but I just got done with the fabric and cabinets so I wanted to finally listen to them and see what else might be needed to be done. Thought maybe a better amp. Not sure the best way to listen to my vinyl and use them in a home theater, thanks!
  12. Hi, I have 2 Klipschorns, a Lascala and a Klipsch sub that I would like to listen to my vinyl on and also run a home theater set up through. I am at a loss as to what to use for power? I don't have a lot to spend, trying to stay under $1K, used is an option also if needed. Anyone have a good solution or set up like this to help me get started in the right direction? Thank you!
  13. Thanks! Not perfect but much better after some elbow grease!! A few nicks on the corners that I would like to work on still but the new fabric and oiling them twice so far have been a great improvement!
  14. Of course! You no longer have it?
  15. Here are some pictures of my "new" old horns and my Lascala and Belle. Still moving things around but hope to have in place soon! I have never taken so many staples out of anything in my life!! Those side panels were bears! Again, thank you for everyone's help, I appreciate the knowledge! Nice to see another Mustang man out there also!
  16. Nice pictures! Yes, mine is a 70 Mach I CJ, I bought it in '74 with 12K miles on it and now it has 27K. Love the looks, Grabber Green! I appreciate all the advise on the speakers. I will post a picture of the Lascala and Belle I have. 1 of each, bought from an old high school physics teacher back in the early '90's. They are in excellent condition and he gave me a good deal on them since they were obviously different but I have used them as a pair and have enjoyed them! He liked to mess around with lots of different pieces of equipment! Thanks! PS - Wish I had the Shaker hood!
  17. Thanks guys! I am off to work on them! I have a lascala and a bell also that I got from a friend in the early 80's also, trying to figure out how to use them now if I like these. Fun problem! Thanks again, have a great evening!
  18. That is what I was looking for! There are a pair of terminals, 1 red, 1 black down below to hook up to but I just wasn't sure which was + or -. Just wanted to make sure I hooked them up correctly. I assume from what you are saying then that everything that is hooked up to the copper plate is a - wire which the other 2 are going to the 2 horns up top. I'll give it a try, thanks to everyone for the help. I just got done replacing all the fabric on these and hadn't hooked them up yet, just putting them back together, cleaning them up, oiling them, etc. They are looking great, just want to hear them and hope they sound as nice as they look! Thanks again!
  19. This shows it pretty good. It is the far left set of wires. The left one goes straight and attaches to a copper? plate along with the other left wires from the 2 other wires and the right wire goes to the little black box there in front. Sorry about the terms, a rookie at this stuff! I want to hook them up and listen to them and then I want to take these out and have a engineer at my work test them. He thinks they probably need replaced. Thanks!
  20. I can't tell from the top which is red or black is my problem? Maybe I can attach a picture to explain better. The wire just splits into 2 and attaches to a part. Thanks for your reply!
  21. I have the same question. I have a pair of 1986 horns and AK-2 cross overs. New to this so not sure how to tell which wire goes red/black from top to the bottom piece? Thanks!
