  1. I have blown my KSF-C5. At least one capasitor has blown on the crossover circuit board. When I bipass it and connect to each driver seperatly I only get sound out of the tweeter, and I am not sure their is not some damage there. Does any one know if the drivers and crossover are still availabe for this model. I just sent the parts dept. an email after calling all day. I never got an answer at their published number. Just to let every one know the speaker blew when my child turned the volume wide open while the satalite signal tone was playing. I may also lost my center amp in my Yamaha receiver. Please help if possible I really need a fix before this weekend. I just purchased a projector and have people coming over for the big event.
  2. Congrats! I know how you feel. I just bought the matching center for my setup and I could not be happier. If anyone ever conciders "should I settle or get the recomended match for any speaker in their home theater", I have only one responce. DONT SETTLE. KSF series

Six months ago I bought a pair of KSF-8.5 and have never looked back. I have now bought the mathing KSF-SS5 surrounds from E-Bay and should be receiving them in a few days (I am very excited). Now my question is should I also buy the matching KSF-C5 center or try to find a KSF-8.5 or KSF-10.5 to convert to a center. I have bid on the KSF-C5 (different seller then the rear speakers) but now I am starting to wonder if a conversion would be better. By the way I paid $260 USD with shipping for the SS5's is that a reasonable price? And if the KSF-C5 is the way to go how much money should I be willing to pay?
  4. I have seen this projector 2 times. The first time they were showing Star Wars Episode I on a 16x9 screen and it looked great. The next time I saw it they were showing Men In Black on a Stewart Greyhawk 16x9 screen and the rainbows were terrible. Yamaha is going to be making a new projector sometime this year that is supposed to be better. If you want to find out more go to www.avsforum.com
  5. go to http://www.avsforum.com and check out the forums for digital projectors. They seem to be making great strides in that area.

    Ksc-c1

Thanks to everyone for their replies. I just wanted to let everyone know, I know have my KSC-C1 in place and love it. I know it is not the match for my mains but it is still a much better match than the old center I had. I find myself rewatching DVD again and can not beleive the difference. I do not think I will ever visit a movie theater again. My next addition will be a pair of surrounds probably the SS1's (again not the correct speakers), but I like the WDST idea.

    Ksc-c1

Thanks for the replys. However I found this forum and posted my question after I have already ordered the KSC-C1. My current center is a Harmon Kardon (C5 I think), which I have had for several years. I am hoping that the C1 will be a better match. I should receive the C1 Friday or Monday. Well such is my life.

    Ksc-c1

Does anyone recomend using the KSC C1 center with KSF 8.5 mains. This is not the suggested speaker on the Klipsch classic site, but seems to be a valid opion. Thanks in advance. This message has been edited by jyarb on 01-07-2002 at 09:04 PM
