Greetings, all, This morning my Jolida 502b blew a fuse, causing one power tube to glow bright orange. I replaced the fuse, moved the tube to another socket to verify the tube's demise. Yup, the bias reading would not rise above 19. This seems a strange occurrence for a new amp with new tubes. Is it? Might something else be awry?

Speaking as one who plugged Heresys to a tube amp. two days ago, I can tell you that for me the difference is astonishing, broader soundstage, more realistic timbre, better separations between voices, more detail. I'm a tube convert.

When I replaced a stock interconnect with a Clarity Wires cable ($79.00), I noticed clearer, more detailed sound, a slightly deeper soundstage, and more natural timbre. I'd expect speaker cable to produce similar improvements. Would I spend $500.00? No. But I would spend $150.00.

My Heresys have two connections options, the top being a bolt, the bottom one being a screw. Is there a difference between them?

Has anyone built interconnects? I'm wondering how difficult a job.

Hello, all, I've got a pair of 1977 heresys, and I'm interested in buying the right amp/pre-amp or integrated amp or tube amp for them. I've done some reading on the web, only to become confused. How much power? Solid-state or tube? I've seen the rave reviews of NAD, the deal on a 30-watt AMC tube amp at SaturdayAudio, etc. (But as Alexander Pope warns, "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.") So I'm asking for your advice. I listen to classical and opera. Thanks for any help you can give me.

What amplifier recommendations can anyone give me for driving opera through my heresys. I want good, clean, warm, realistic sound. Should I buy an integrated amp or separates?

Please recommend sources for buying used klipsch speakers. I currently own a pair of 1977 heresys, but I'm interested in adding a pair of La Scalas.
