That is a neat idea, great for testing. I like it.
I usually use and active crossover , and back engineer a passive from there.

I love my Mac amps as well.

Yes, bracing the floor may be necessary. This stuff aint light. I can barely rip a sheet on my table saw by myself. I got 12 sheets of this stuff at an estate sale for $75.00. Good birch on one side. I cut some up in 1" thick strips and turned them sideways to make ends on a subwoofer build. Goes for about $120 a sheet I'm told on special order only.
Heck why not.
Thoughts on whether the the angular bracing between the sides and the top of the doghouse?????
Very nice.

The problem is that specs will not tell you how an amp will sound. As an example, go look at the specs of a tube amp, then go listen to it.
Absolutely.
Tube amps can sound great.
Currently I am enjoying a First Watt F6.

I have seen it crossed as high as 1k without EQ, but need to watch out for that peak . A higher order filter may be in order.
I typically cross the 15C at 600hz for use with a 1st order.

I agree, Tiger. The vertically oriented horn looks funky to me.
Thanks for the link!
I'll be sitting about 10-12 feet in front of the pair of speakers, and they will be about 12 feet apart. You don't think that would be too close for a 3-way design?
Not at all.

Great thread, keep it updated.
Amps and Sound has some great sounding amps, when the time is right.

I prefer three way, using with dcm50.

I have a pair and I love them.

Not a clue how big companies do it.
Any way, nice work.
