  1. not yet, unfortunately. still hunting! i'm open to other offers for Klipsch horn speakers too, anything that would be considered an upgrade to the KG 5.2... Thanks-
  2. I'm considering an upgrade from my KG 5.2s (paired with a Marantz 2230) to a pair of heritage speakers and would love to spend some time comparing sets before I make the investment. I checked out the Heresy IIIs at Park Audio a few weeks ago, but felt pressured to make a buying decision on the spot...it certainly made me curious to hear the larger models though! Does anyone own a pair of heritage/chorus speakers in Brooklyn/NYC/close by that would be down for a demo/listening party? I did a quick search on this forum and noted others in the area that asked the same question (a few years ago), maybe we could organize something as a group. Happy to bring food/drinks for the host of course.
  3. i haven't used it before, but it looks like a great resource. thanks for the link
  4. Hi everyone, My set up right now is a Marantz 2230 and some Klipsch 5.2. I'm looking for a pair of Cornwalls around the NYC area, willing to drive somewhere within reason (3-4 hours tops) to pick up a set in the right condition. Hoping for IIs but would be just as happy with a version I or III. Let me know if you're selling a pair, or have a good lead for me! Thanks!
  5. The cabinets are in good condition, I'd say 8/10. Is it possible to use glue to repair the tears without replacing the entire surround?
  6. I've been shopping for a pair of used Klipsch horn speakers for awhile now and finally found a pair of Klipsch KG5.2 two-ways in my area. The seller was asking $300 for the pair, but when I went to check them out last night I noticed three small tears in the surrounds of one of the woofers, less than half an inch each. The surrounds didn't feel brittle or break apart when I pressed them lightly so I think they might have originally been rubber, not foam? Hopefully someone can chime in to confirm. The other three woofers looked fine, and I think the speakers sounded great, although it was my first time listening to horn-loaded tweeters so I might've missed something. I talked the guy down to $200, but I'm wondering if that's even worth it? I found a pair of replacement foams here for $25, plus the time and effort to learn how to do it (it'll be my first surround replacement). It could even be more if I decide to replace all of them. I guess my question is, is it inadvisable to use them with the rips? I'd say there are three small tears less than half an inch in size around one of the woofers. Does the sound quality diminish significantly when tears happen, and will it get worse over time as I play them? Images attached, thanks!
