I have read a few threads here and elsewhere about it being good to place these speakers 2 to 3 feet from wall. What if you don't have more than 6" usually enouth breathing room for port. How about the SB 3s

My KSW 12 auto on feature worked for a while now it won't auto turnoff when system activates. I presently have it on 24/7. any future problems here. Is there an easy fix on this problem? Thanks for your help

Ugh! It appears that costs are becoming a real problem here. PLAN B Would it be a mismatch by using the SB3s as mains with 1.1 rears and KSC Ci for center. I would love to have the SS1 surrounds and SC1 center; however at over $750 (and thats the least expensive I've found via internet) one has to compromise somewhere. I am presently using the quintet package with KSW 12 Help, time is running out on availablity on the 1.1s and KSC1s.

OK here goes. I have all but made up my mind on getting the following;however I have a couple question. SB3s for front SB1s for rear SC1 for center Questions 1) Will the SB1s be good enough or should I get the SS1s for rears 2) Can I sub the KSC C1 for the center - There are great deals on this item and a penny saved.... 3) Will the efficiency on this upgraded speakers be as good as my Quintets or will I have to crank it up which I don't really want to have to do on my H/K AVR 500. Anything else I should look for - How about some places with great deals? thanks for all your help

Just to set the record straight the moniker of "you can tune a piano but you can't tuna a fish" is not REO but rather Joe Walsh from the album of the same name.

P.S. - If I am using the 12" sub would I have to spend the extra $$ on the 3s or go with the 2s. I know one should hear these things before going ahead; however, I am familiar with the Klipsch and you can never get a true reading as to how they will sound at home when listening in sound room. Turn in direction - Lets say I flipped for the SB 3 for the fronts - Would the 1.1 be good match for rears along with the C1 for centers. Or could I get by with the quintets for the rears? KSW 12 for sub. Thanks

It seems to me, after viewing several of these HT set up, that there are very few that have there fronts with a minimum of 8' between speakers. Me believes they are missing alot with all that gear at there disposal. Am Imissing something here?

How bad will it be not to get the upgrade center speaker because I just can't plain afford it at this time. I would like to take advantage of the low pricing on the 1.1s and I'm in trouble with that.

Do you think the vogel will fit the 2.1s?

All that being said, and I thank you, I still say the center one I have is pretty nice. I will have to wait on it though. Heck, I can't even fine a good deal on the KSB2.1s yet. Will have to waite on this also until can be found or just get the 1.1s shortly.

I saw the Vogel SAT-5 - what about the other one they offer Standdesign SSB omni directional? Any difference?

I have been advised (correctly I assume) to change over to the proper matching center speaker if I am changing my quintet fronts to 1.2/2.1. I realize this is probably optimal; however, if one is generally relying on the center for vocals; I can't understand why the quintet center wouldn't be adequate. Don't use the center for music too much and DVD maily for the vocals on 5.1 listening. Besides there is so much mix and match in speakers now adays that it seems kinda wierd. Your comments please

Also, in addition to the above - Does anyone know where to get these 2.1s. They have been replaced by newer model numbers. I can't spend arm and leg and perhaps they can be had for a good price. Ebay and Ubid are now showing them only 1.1s
