  2. It is time for the commo refresh at the factory, S-4 to S-7 refresh. So I bounce outa da Fab at 0500 to do the deed. Back up data and contacts to the cloud, delete all accounts and perform factory reset on the S-4, and turn it in. Sit around playing switch for 45 min, receive S-7. Begin flogging thru 8 page security and account set up document. Phone hangs up during security install. After harried tech support personnel try to help all 40 of us in this group, the head Boffin announces the network is down. Come back tonight and do it over. Grrrrrrrr.

Go home and rack out. Two hours before scheduled reveille, a spectacular bilateral gastrocnemius cramp has me flopping like a mackerel. Get up and pace to stretch it out. At this moment, my wife and three yr old granddaughter get home and are mightily amused at my Captain Underpants ambulations. I realize no more Slepp is happening, so I S, S and S, and begin to make coffee.

Grind the beans, fill the carafe. (Cue ominous "tink", as carafe taps edge of sink) Ignore sound, dump grounds into basket. Back to sink for carafe. Note a leak, where a chip has broken out of the bottom. Shizzle. Search for spare carafe. To my shock and horror, realize it was probably 86'ed during the move to our current abode. Derp. Not to worry. During the search I found my trusty French press. Dump grounds from basket to press carafe, boils water. Dump water into press, let soak. Wife remains amused, I am Jonesing. After the requisite four minute brew, I initiate press activities. Halfway through the connecting rod blows thru the piston. FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUuuuuuuuu. Wife is about to rupture from laughing, but goes out and gets me a new coffee maker. (The same wife who wanted me to sell my "big, ugly" Heresy pair, but insisted I buy La Scala over Fortes cause they looked better) I sure got lucky in this regard.

I now look forward to a great 12 hr shift at the Fab, cause the day cannot possibly get more frustrating...... Unless the commo security network is still overloaded.

  3. Final Round of the "Festival de Cuadrangles"

The Chevy Equinox ads with " Personas reales. No actores". Same script, different actores.

Sano: Ominous lightning in background of first homer. Took a full minute to get that. Rail power is fluctuating. Unless Judge falls off the bench it will be a walk off. Ernesto Jerez and Eduardo Perez keep it interesting. Bonus Time! 10 total.

Judge: (Taco Bell commercials are hideous in any language I have so far heard. I wonder if French would be amusing) four in a row over 450. And these are the first five swings. Profundo! He wins in less than 20 swings. Didn't seem tired at all. Many people, dozens even, are wearing black smocks and wigs. Joe Torre presents the award. The interview has the English talent on screen with Judge, Spanish is dubbed. "Me llamo Aaron Judge" as Judge talks for 30 sec. Like "What's Up Tiger Lilly". Unintentional humor index was rocked.

  4. Second round: Sanchez is tired: the warning track is getting a workout.

Sano is giving the sculpture a workout. Won and stopped. Save it for the finals.

Bellinger has his dad pitching to him. Swing is still sweet, but he looks tired too. Swing is .005 sec out of phase relative to the first round, causing a noticeable deleterious effect on the timbre of the ball when it was struck. This distortion led to a corruption of the expected upper decker sine wave, previously seen, and left us with a warning track reproduction.  New caps prolly woulda helped. 12 dingers.

Here comes the Judge: two over 500 feet. With a seeming effortless swing. Overhead like a Krell. This kid could go places.

  5. First round synopsis: Bellinger has a sweet left handed swing. He and the two Yankees showed deliberate power to all fields, before going pull happy. The difference is that Judge has enormous power. Pitches he pulled off on went into the second deck, opposite field.

Everyone else was just pull happy. Bour has a very violent swing and can hit it a mile, but he is a one trick pony. And Stanton had an off night and bad draw.

  6. Had to DVR the Home Run Derby, due to earlier commitment. Watching it now....en espanol. FF past the preliminary moooooing, straight to the action. After 5 min I realize that these guys are way better than the ESPN English speaking talent. I understand very little of the dialogue but these guys are exciting. And some of the baseball terms translate well: upper deck, alto profundo (moon shot) and "no no no no noooooo" And the Judge hits the roof!

I gave them glowing remarks since this represent a  police department that other communities should strive for.  We don't have bogus traffic stops, police that fired on a citizen because they felt threaten(BS) and a ton of lawsuits against our department.

When I lived in SAN Tan Valley, the Pinal County Sherriffs Dept impressed me. The deputies were always polite, helpful and well turned out. Traffic stops were more about safety than revenue.

I have moved into Chandler and now have a myriad of local, county and state jurisdictions. Not to mention recovery from the decline of Sherriff Joe.

  8. Went to see the new Spider-Man movie with my wife and twin unit B from the first set. The movie was "meh". But I did get grief from my wife and son for noting the 14 KPT-250 surround speakers. Then even more for wondering what was behind the screen.

Yep, that goes down in my book as "expensive but worth it."  Factory African Rosewood in excellent shape and it is fully upgraded.

Was trying to put together a thought like Dave quoted. But mine was running two paragraphs in my head to his four woids. So we'll just go with that.
