  1. Thorough thanks. When I have time I'll begin the process. I am used to toying with positioning. I just wasn't sure about the klipsch heritage stuff. It seems many of the models become anemic in the bass exponentially as they leave the rear wall.
  2. After putting up with large speakers for an extended period of time they tend to wise up quicker than we would hope. Was worth a shot on that one.
  3. That's fair. I will try that. I have my eye on the parasound halo integrated. Price, solid DAC, headroom, sound and tone controls are what has my attention. I owned the unit in the past and loved it. I have used PrimaLuna tube gear in the past and liked it as well. Have never taken the plunge into tubes otherwise. Any input on the train of thought here?

👍Thanks. It is a killer amp indeed. It drove the legacies with SERIOUS authority. That's six 12" woofers in total. Those that love bass....
  5. Im sure the recommendation will be tubes, however my only source will be USB. I would love input for a well matched integrated with DAC built in. I like to listen quite loud occasionally as well so no miniscule power amps will do.
  6. Beat you to it. It's listed for sale already. That was leftover from my legacies. I will give that a try as well. So you recommend firing them straight at the listener? I would think that may be quite bright that close together at a 45 degree angle?

Located in Lakewood, CA 90713 Up for sale I have an almost new Dspeaker 2.0 Preamp DAC Room Correction with upgraded Channel Islands Power Supply in MINT condition. Unit won a golden ear from The Absolute Sound. Unit corrects bass in the room very nicely and naturally flattens it. Unit is very advanced with tilt eqs, parametric eqs and multi sweet spots all at the push of a button. Unit is less than a month old. This is the latest 2013 edition. Selling as I am going back to an integrated amp and won't need the unit.
  9. There is some useful insight. Thanks. I am just over 13 feet away and the speakers are just over 7 feet apart. I will give that a go. Thanks. Do you find that they need to be on the wall or in a corner, or do you bring them out a bit? I haven't had much time to give them more than an initial listen as of yet.
  10. Now I need to hear a pair of these. Most seem to agree that they are well rounded.
  11. I love the sound of LA scalas. If I had the room, a pair of the LA scala II and a pair of 18" JBL SRX subs would Def be the end of my journey.
  12. The Cornwall III completely trumps the all Crites modded khorns that I had, same amp, same room. But I know that the khorns didn't have the proper space they needed. Dynamics, bass punch and extension l, imaging and uniformity of the sound out of these Cornwalls is damn impressive. I really would like to hear the Forte III for comparison. Loved my Forte I pair I had.

  14. Tagged. I am Def interesting in this discussion. I just bought the Cornwall III and love them. I find them quite balanced, but they are large and I have a small room.

  16. I will search later, but working now. Don't bash me if it's already been discussed, but I just picked up a pair of Cornwall III speakers in walnut. True 7/10 condition, consecutive serials. Speakwrs themselves are 8/10. Risers in the back have a couple good chips. Other than than they are in excellent shape. Estimate on value? Also, anyone else have them and love them/hate them? They sound VERY different from anything else I have yet had, however so far I am liking them.

Thanks. I haven't seen a pair this nice in person. Wish I had more room at the house to keep them.

Haha I live here and you took the words right out of my mouth. I was ready to move to Oregon and somehow I ended up with a house here.

Ribbons are my second favorite or arguably tied with horns done right for me. She doesn't necessarily dictate what speakers go in the living room. In this case, I agree with her, they are simply too large for that room. I wish I had the luxury of building a proper music room. Alas.... I live in CA. Good luck with that here haha.
