I bought a 4648A during JBLs tent sale and had it delivered in January (still have the receipt). I finally bought a plate amp from Parts Express in May I believe, and while I have really enjoyed it hooked up with a pair of Heresys in the basement I have been told it is too large to ever be acceptable upstairs. I've tried to figure out a way to make it work but I just don't think I can keep it. I paid $221 for the 4648A and about $125 for the plate amp. I'm not interested in making money off of it but I'm not interested in losing money either. If you are interested in it drop me an email. I live in northeastern Oklahoma.

Klipschguy, I read this post the other day and thought it sounded easy enough. I took the back of the Heresys off and got out a flashlight. Sure enough I was able to find the t2a and the numbering so I unsoldered the wire from the #3 tap . I went ahead and soldered it on to the #2 cap with the squawkers negative lead before I figured out that you attached it at the crossover. I assume soldering it to the #2 tap is an acceptable thing to do? I can't see why it would make a difference but I struggled with Physics II and deplored diagraming circuits. I will go back and use tape to note that I performed this modification as well. I LOVE the way they sound. Are you still as happy with yours almost a year later? Im1TooRU

I'm trying to get my 2 channel set up and am wondering if all of the speaker wires need to be the same length. If so would someone please explain why? I'd like to be able to offer a reasonable explanation to anyone wondering why I'm spending another hundred or more bucks on plain ol' speaker wire. I'm having to run a couple through the attic out to the eaves through to the outside and along the house before it comes back in through the wall and into the back of the speaker. Needless to say if they all have to be that long that is a lot of wire. They are also being run over kitchen light fixtures so require shielding. TIA for the expertise.
