  1. haven't had to mow this year. I didn't water and it didn't rain. I have a couple saws. 2 old electrics, a big as Jonsered and a little Stihl. Love that little saw. Been into the shop one time. It needed a pull cord. I do burn through bars, chains and drive sprockets. Regular maintenance items.
  2. I was known for being temperamental at the bowling alley. Make me angry ...I would leave in the middle of a shift... that was better than me staying. Told the one manager to keep the owner out of the backend... He might have an accident....if I was on duty.
  3. I'm not too fond of power equipment. Spent a couple years working on the stuff. I will say that I do like my chainsaw. That's one piece that works harder/faster. It cuts oak. Try that with an ax.
  4. we were allowed 2 shift drinks at the bowling alley. Is a pitcher of beer one drink? sounds like using a weedeater down here. One reason why I use a whip sickle... and I broke the handle on it.
  5. it is almost cold this AM... only gonna make 85`. Better dig out the warm robe.
  6. TBH John I think it is the lean meat we are getting. Someone decided we can't handle animal fat.... and replaced it with Crisco
  7. @dirtmudd Mike, Those longshots have a tough skin on the pepper? Green chiles have skin like cellophane.
  8. look like green chiles my mom made stuffed [bell] peppers... she used ground beef. Sausage sounds good. She put red sauce on/around them when she baked 'em. you should be able to get those peppers. I was treated to some of the best Mexican food I've have at a place in Elkhart IN.
  9. I dug out the [hair] clippers and used them...... on the boy Dinner? I dunno. Wife is doing something. If it's too creative, I have shrimp to fall back on.
  10. I can't say that there are times that I wouldn't like to be in a more metropolitan area. Good thing I have paper towels handy. I'm drooling, too.
  11. Gotta cook everything that is gonna spoil, and share with the neighbors. "Looks like makings for a big bbq" when I saw the storm prep vids on TV.... Fridge packed with perishables. We drank ice cream after it lost its cooling ability... How is everyone today? suffered a momentary lapse into adolescence... Recorded WoW.. Women of Wrestling Same story line they were working 50 years ago. Had me chuckling. What do you watch at 3:30AM? No, not up late.... up early Working on leftover Peruvian coffee. Still talking rain. Put up or shut up. Talk is cheap and all that... Haven't heard anything on the Heresy. I bet they are reconsidering.
  12. There is a Greek festival in Tucson. Can't say I've been. If it involves food, can't be bad. nothing happening here. Prolly should have gone "downtown" this AM. 1st Saturday of the month street market. Getting time to see some local tomatoes. May be a slim year for them. Been too warm. They won't set fruit. Cherry toms are not bothered by it. still waiting for rain. We're getting a little humidity from TS Ferdnand. Rumbling around. We'll see. "Monsoon" is winding up. Not a good year for summer rain.
  13. that's good news. the fire in CA. RiversideCounty... Murrieta. 2000acres... so far. The report may have said 1000acres. I have a good memory... it's just short
  14. only 2 seasons here... rain and fire Al DiMiola is playing in Tucson, soon. I thought it said RialtoTheater... 1200 max cap. The Wailers, too. Same venue. No bad seats. Bigger than intimate, not by much... Saw Johnny Winter there. Don't need the jumbotron to see the stage. An old theater. Decent acoustics.
  15. communicating with the owner of those Heresy. Was swamped with responses. Hoping honesty will get me the deal. They were saying that they may have seriously undervalued them and asked what they are worth. Told them $400- $500 depending on condition. They are/were the seller's mother's. We'll see what get. I asked about her amp as a package, if available
  16. when the ice runs out, even a warm Budweiser is OK... I can't bring myself to say "good"
  17. cool pic. witness it ... uh... NO! derailed myself. so what's new?
  18. I thought they came with a riser? Is that a mod and on later models? I am kinda new to these things.
  19. I replied we'll see what happens. I can afford $100 Doesn't look like a kid selling them. Wonder if there is an amp to go with?
  20. what dis? https://flagstaff.craigslist.org/ele/d/flagstaff-klipsch-speakers/6970886690.html heresy? pics are useless
  21. we were fortunate that Iniki was only on us for a couple hours. A tree landed [softly] on our Jeep. My Honda car got blown across the street. Gotta love those CVCC engines... no compression to stop it from rolling - much. We had to use a beach shower to bathe. can scratch hurricane off the bucket list. on the news showing how to prepare... showed a fridge full of perishables. That's a plan for a big bbq. Y'all be safe. I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the Bahamas scoured into the ocean. So Mike, normality resumes? My wife is still shaking out the opening things. Admin crap. The kids are great. Bloody adults are the problem. getting a big kickback on e-cigs and "vaping". ... those that use them, I would suggest getting your supplies from a reputable vendor. "Knock offs" could be iffy. I did see a reasonable commercial for an e-cig. Marketed as a device for ingesting nicotine. Nothing more. Sort of a more PC way to indulge your addiction.
  22. yeah buddy! no electricity is a real inconvenience. Water usually goes with it. it is a pain. I did 3 weeks w.o. Camping indoors
